How much trouble would Zombie be in if

IamtheZombie · 22/08/2016 22:06

she posted something like "Zombie would be pleased to answer your question / interact with you / get into a discussion with you AS SOON AS YOU CHANGE TO A PROPER NICKNAME" on all threads started by user1234567890 posters?

MNHQ's recent forced log in trial has unleashed another tsunami of "user"s as so many signed up to complain.

Zombie is now complaining about the renewed confusion created by "nicknames" that are virtually identical.

Humph.

Zombie can do no wrong. (Especially when she's right)

SingingTunelessly · 22/08/2016 22:09

Yup. Impossible to reply to somebody called "userxxxx" as there's so many of them. Why can't it be that you have to choose a nickname on first log-in?

iklboo · 22/08/2016 22:10

Exactly. How am I supposed to memorise something like 9 digits to differentiate?

If Zombie gets told off by HQ I will give them a virtual slap, as opposed to a real one, which I might get into trouble for. I agree with you Zombie, especially as the Users very often turn out to be arses.

It seems an odd thing to do on a forum, why offer an automated name? If you are going to force them to log in then force them to try and come up with a name.

LineyReborn · 22/08/2016 22:12

I'm with Zombie.

It's just stupid having all these usernumbers.

MiddleClassProblem · 22/08/2016 22:13

There are several that seem to have become regular posters! Change your bloody names!

iklboo · 22/08/2016 22:14

I AM NOT A NUMBER. I AM A FREE MUMSNETTER!!!!

PurpleDaisies · 22/08/2016 22:14

I think there are many of us that would back a Zombia apocalypse on all these random users.

EmpressKnowsWhereHerTowelIs · 22/08/2016 22:15

Zombie is the fount of all MN wisdom.

The other thing that would be good here is for MN to assign them random names. At least then we could tell one from the other.

PurpleDaisies · 22/08/2016 22:15

I'm sure there are lots of us that would back a Zombie apocalypse upon these random users.

PurpleDaisies · 22/08/2016 22:16

Apologies for the double post.

magimedi · 22/08/2016 22:16

I am SO PISSED OFF with all the 'user123456789' names - I totally ignore any post that is posted under that guise.

WTF don't they change their names to something more recognisable??

And I would agree that Zombie is all seeing, ever wise & always right.

FastWindow · 22/08/2016 22:16

That would be an interesting thread, helping eg 125905525 change. What questions should we ask?

Not that dreadful type of thing where you take the last thing you ate and your knicker gusset colour and combine the two and there's your hooker name but:

Favourite film genre
Favourite position
Guilty crush, etc.

Hee hee.

LineyReborn · 22/08/2016 22:17

I might start suggesting on threads that usernumbers adopt actual user names. Would that be rude? who fucking cares

MiddleClassProblem · 22/08/2016 22:19

Fast Widow, let's do it!

DonkeyOaty · 22/08/2016 22:20

I can't remember me own date of birth let alone a string of random numbreros so I'm a Yes

(what was the question?)

Good on you Zombie

RustyPaperclip · 22/08/2016 22:21

Also agree with Zombie, she seems fabulous Grin

kelper · 22/08/2016 22:23

There was a good thread the other day where the OP suggested your name should be what you last ate and what you were looking at (Or something similar, apologies for not remembering the correct formula!) perhaps all these User1234567s should do that?

PurplePidjin · 22/08/2016 22:23

I'll provide an alibi and hand you the spade Wink

Although I'd quite like to be user8008135
