Livid - porn on my phone! please help

I'm not the most tech savvy person, can anyone help please?

Last night I was posting on Mumsnet and an advert for a sex chat site appeared out of nowhere which had a close up video of a woman using a vibrator on herself that completely filled the screen Angry.

How did I inadvertently do this? It was on the Louise Mensch thread, I followed a link to the tweet and read it, then went back to post my message. I think when I hit post is when the porn appeared but I can't be entirely sure. I couldn't work out how to get it to stop either for a minute, or how to close the page.

I don't want porn on my phone ffs! What can I do?

The problem is also how sporadic it is. I've accesses Mumsnet yesterday probably well over 100 pages, at times between 1am and 11pm and it happened twice. I understand why tech can't replicate that.

We have turned off all ads from the mobile site and we'd really like your help by telling us if you still see any popups. If you do, can you please email [email protected] the following details.

  • Date and time of when the ad appeared (as close as possible)
  • Location
  • Type of device you are using
  • The page you are on
  • Landing page of the ad, if tap and hold on your device and click copy link you will get this

I know some of you struggled to send mails yesterday, we only received two, so if the mail bounces, please do PM me and I'll send the info to tech.

Apologies all, we really hope to get this sorted asap.

I also got bouncing boobies and gushing cock last night at 10.30pm reading the school holidays thread. I was not logged in and I did not click - in fact I'd put my phone down briefly and when I looked back my screen was filled - luckily no one else saw or they'd wonder what I spent my evenings browsing.

We think we have pinpointed the issue our end and we are going to turn the ads back on and see what happens. Please do report back to us if you see any pop-ups asap. It is important that you let us know either way as we are still unable to replicate this in the office so any sightings by you are essential for us to hear about.

What was causing the problem, I think you owe it to the users affected to explain what happened and how. I've avoided posting for the last few days and would like to be able to make my mind up about whether I feel save to use MN on my phone again
