I'm not the most tech savvy person, can anyone help please?

Last night I was posting on Mumsnet and an advert for a sex chat site appeared out of nowhere which had a close up video of a woman using a vibrator on herself that completely filled the screen Angry.

How did I inadvertently do this? It was on the Louise Mensch thread, I followed a link to the tweet and read it, then went back to post my message. I think when I hit post is when the porn appeared but I can't be entirely sure. I couldn't work out how to get it to stop either for a minute, or how to close the page.

I don't want porn on my phone ffs! What can I do?

Apologies for inflicting that on people; I didn't think. I guess at least it says porn in the title so some people might be warned off…

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/07/2016 18:26

Mine have been close up , legs spread... utterly vile.

Spiderpants · 19/07/2016 18:29

Yes I just got a lovely one, luckly shielded from the children in time!!??

Nobrain · 19/07/2016 18:30

And again just now. Screen shot too graphic to post. The only link I clicked on was the link to the thread Sad

GloGirl · 19/07/2016 18:30

AYD I would have posted the screenshot too, I'm jus saying it's grim

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/07/2016 18:31

When I tried to screen shot my while phone shut down, so not risking that again.

AYD2MITalkTalk · 19/07/2016 18:37

Don't worry, Glo, it wasn't what you said - I just suddenly realised that if I didn't appreciate seeing it, others probably wouldn't either Grin

treaclesoda · 19/07/2016 18:37

I tried to browse active threads a couple of hours ago and was redirected to another site. Not porn thankfully but definitely something dodgy and scam like. Android phone.

BankWadger · 19/07/2016 18:43

Just happened to me. Reading the thread about magicool and suddenly I was on a porn page. I hadn't touched the screen.

Am on Android, Samsung phone.

I'm also chrome on android.

TheSpottedZebra · 19/07/2016 18:47

Oh sorry I didn't say what I was on in my above post. No surprise that I'm on a Samsung tab, on Chrome.
And I didn't click on a link I was just directed away.

AYD2MITalkTalk · 19/07/2016 18:48

On a Samsung here, too, though would that make any difference?

Nobrain · 19/07/2016 18:49

Samsung here Confused

AYD2MITalkTalk · 19/07/2016 18:53

Just happened again while browsing active - redirected to the first one, then to the second one (which also made my phone vibrate). Didn't click anything for the porn one or for these ones. And these ones, it did the usual thing these "security" scams do of not letting you click "back".

Perhaps time for you to do something urgently HQ and post a sticky warning, not in site stuff, telling people what they risk seeing on their phones while browsing Mumsnet!

MachiKoro · 19/07/2016 18:59

Me too Angry
Ordinary thread, porn loaded. Chrome on Samsung android phone.

AYD2MITalkTalk · 19/07/2016 19:00

Something, at least - would turning off ads until it's fixed do it? Yeah, I know, I know, MN is run for the advertisers, not for us, if you're not paying you're the product, etc., but come on. This really isn't on.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 19/07/2016 19:02

Can people also report their posts, to flag up to HQ that something rather worrying is going on?

hawaiibaby · 19/07/2016 19:04

Just happened here too - while browsing active - no link clicking. It was something called snapfuck. Nice. Also on android, Samsung galaxy.

GloGirl · 19/07/2016 19:06

Must be a specific security problem for Sumsung/chrome . Strange.

gamerchick · 19/07/2016 19:07

I'm on a Nokia and not using chrome.

DiamondInTheRuff · 19/07/2016 19:17

Just had it happen here too, screenshot with website details attached.

Just happened to me followed by 100s of pop ups pretending to be virus protection software on my phone.

RachelGoldberg · 19/07/2016 19:21

Me too. Porn and then fake virus warnings. I had clicked on nothing was just returning to active.

JangleBangle · 19/07/2016 19:39

Just happened to me too, exactly the same photo as above. Am on an android mobile.
