MNHQ - are they disabilist?

Having had a thread deleted with no communication with me until I asked ( but then I'm disabled and so invisible) , having read on the second class citizen thread of examples of disabilist language which HQ defend, I am beginning to think they are. I now think they were really really wrong to delete my thread and that they have NO IDEA about the everyday discrimination that people with disabilities face in even trying to travel to work, care even less and I would like to know how many of their staff are disabled?

May daughter and I are considered deaf from birth with ear abnormality on top but don't integrate with the deaf community, use sign language or consider ourselves disabled to be honest. I don't really know where we fit in !

personally i don't see the need for the devide, shouldn't you all be helping one another?

That post about a deaf member of mnhq seems more of an admission that there is very little thought/policy in relation to disabilities than anything else.

I don't know what MN does in relation to disabilities generally, there may be all sorts of good work I'm unaware of. My only experience of them was when I was a disabled parent and it was discouragingly similar to most other institutions- MNHQ wanted to be seen to care about people with disabilities by people without disabilities.

They used to keep the disabled parenting (not even parenting with disabilities) in the special needs section, not the parenting section. You really had to hunt to find it and I found it quite derogatory and almost hurtful, as if it meant I wasn't a real parent because I had 'special needs'. I and a couple of others in a similar position messages MNHQ asking for this change and we were fobbed off for about a year. So eventually i started a thread about it and lots of able bodied posters came on to say 'what an oversight, that should be changed at once'.

And it was.

I cannot tell you how impotent that made me feel.

I made a joke on the waking neighbour at 2am thread ( about barking dogs) and got reported and deleted and called a 'dog hating psycho' - well let's see how long that disabilist language is allowed to stand.
