That thread is grim reading. Some good posts but really you have to think what verdict a jury composed of a cross section of that thread contributors would come to in many rape cases.
The biggest misconception on the thread is that rape only really is rape where a man uses force (ie archetypal jumps out of a bush and grabs a woman). On the other hand a man led on by a woman in sexy clothes who is a bit drunk and being quite flirty with him can lead him to such a state of arousal that he just cant stop himself and sort of loses his mind so he 'commits sex with her' but that isn't really a rape. I am a man and that is so wrong and such a foul description of male sexuality I don't know where to start.
Yes when I was young and single and a bit drunk myself with girls that were also young and single and a bit drunk there was of course a certain amount of flirting and sexual attraction but oddly I didn't lose my mind. Men do not lose their mind even when drunk. They do not force women to have sex. They don't. They just don't. Rapists force women to have sex or take advantage of them when they cant give consent. It involves abuse, domination and power and it does not happen by accident. It is always premeditated. A man cant rape someone by accident.
