Hooray! Will they share do you think?

Pipbin · 22/08/2015 22:30

This reminds me of the Berners Street Hoax: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berners_Street_hoax

MargoReadbetter · 22/08/2015 22:33

Thank you for the list.

Hygge · 22/08/2015 22:34

"I didn't know how good a searcher Hygge was"

Not that good Simurgh.

I can find a hidden Christmas present, lurking spider, or a text from the woman DH works with and who I don't like with pinpoint accuracy, but it's taken me three days to find the list on Mumsnet and it's called THE LIST in great big letters!

Any other sort of searching for "weirdy hacker bloke's list" probably wouldn't get me very far Grin

MiscellaneousAssortment · 22/08/2015 22:37

Oooh I love that link Pipbin, naughty Theodore, naughty naughty!

He sounds a cut above old Jeffers though in terms of imagination and geberal devilry... Sign of the times I expect (sighs in a world weary way). After all when Jeffers had admin control the only thing he could think of to do was to correct my typos and the odd message change from mumsnet.

Though thinking about it this whole thing could be very devisive, with Pedants Corner folk taking him to their very bosoms Biscuit Biscuit Grin

  1. How do I reset my password? I logged on via FB and my account won't let me change my password without my old password, but I've been kicked out/password reset so I don't know what my 'current' one is, unless it's the one that potentially millions of people also know now Grin
  1. when I click on threads in 'i'm on' it will often take me to a different thread in that section, or to 'active' or, recently, it 'redirected' me to a separate blank page.
PavlovtheCat · 22/08/2015 22:50

I do apologise for the more serious post in the saturday evening of jolliness in the face of adversity.

TiredButFineODFOJ · 22/08/2015 23:45

For those interested in Jeffrey's phone number...no don't call it...the dadsec tweets are indicating he asked someone who called to PM him, then taunted a twitter user to call it so he coukd tell er how to be a better parent.
If only he gave his address so we could send him a packet of Biscuit
I do wonder why such an upstanding citizen who breaches data protection, endangers children's lives and wastes police time can't see his kids. Political correctness gone mad.

Lweji · 22/08/2015 23:47

Did you get an email about the password?

You should use the previous password (worked for me), although you wouldn't be able to use it to login.

If you ask to reset the password, you should get an email link for which you shouldn't need the old password. (iirc)

lorelei9 · 23/08/2015 00:24

Tired - I thought Jeffrey didn't have kids?

LittleRedRidingHoodie1 · 23/08/2015 05:14

tired Not a man just a silly teenager.

howtorebuild · 23/08/2015 07:12

There is no phone tweets now. One is up linking DO. One tweet complaining someone is trying to hack him?

Arkkorox · 23/08/2015 07:53

And he's posted a Twitter link on his main account but it doesnt work

TiredButFineODFOJ · 23/08/2015 08:42

There's a whole bunch of Jeffreys and some aparrently have fathered children. The lead twitter Jeffrey might not have kids but knows more about parenting than everyone else according to him.

I would message mnhq and let them know what is going on and that you are starting a new account, so they don't ban you for being a sock puppet.

TheTravellingLemon · 23/08/2015 09:18

The cake is a lie

Now I don't want to lose my temper here. Taking my private details and publishing them online is one thing. Sending armed police round to people's houses in the middle of the night is bad, but what kind of sicko lies about cake? Next you'll be telling me there's no gin list. If there's no gin list, I'd rather not know

Simurgh · 23/08/2015 09:28

Keep calm TheTravellingLemon. I'm pretty sure there will be a gin list. (I can't say for certain that you'll be on it of course; the competition must have been pretty fierce.)

I should imagine that they'll be snowed under with emails of all sorts Higheredserf so I'd keep on being patient. I assume you've done all those good practice things like changing passwords on other accounts and so on?

TheHoneyBadger · 23/08/2015 09:31

have been reading to catch up.

i have had a hideous cold for the last few days despite being in 40 degree temperatures and not having seen a person with a cold for months and months. coincidence? i think not. beware the virus - i reckon i got it from clicking on a link on here Wink

is it generally over or still ongoing? and still no news of police getting near him? and can you send me some lemsip and night nurse as i can't get it here? TIA

shopafrolic · 23/08/2015 09:34

Have you deleted your cookies and browsing history Higher? I know that was locking some out.

PlayingSolitaire · 23/08/2015 09:34

I still can't log in through Safari, but can through Explorer and on the android app. It's a bit weird. Not contacted MNHQ about it yet- they've got better things to worry about at the moment I'm sure. Just means it's a bit more difficult for me to add my ramblings right now.

I thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else has the same issue. Also, anyone who can't log in- it might be worth trying another method if it's available to you (Explorer/Safari/app) in case that makes a difference.
