Would you like to test an early version of our Talk app?

Hello,
We've been working on a test version of a new Talk app and could do with your help putting it through it's paces.

If you have an iPhone with iOS8 (sorry no iPods, iPads or android for now) and you'd like a sneak preview then head on over to this sign up page and sign up so we can send you an invite (it doesn't have to be your Mumsnet email address just one you can access).

The app is very much a beta version and everything may not work perfectly. If you find something that's broken or think there is something missing, please let us know.

Ideally we'd like you to use the app to read and post on threads and do whatever you normally do in Talk. Please note, this version of the app is LIVE and anything you post will appear on the Mumsnet site for all to see.

At the mo this is for registered mumsnetters only so if you can't see the sign up page please check you are logged in.

Thanks in advance for your help - looking forward (I think) to your feedback.

Ooh I love that we can easily add photos

Loveleopardprint · 20/07/2015 13:16

Finding the adverts between posts irritating.

LokiPokey · 20/07/2015 13:17

Can anyone shed any light on why there's an orange dot next to the app name and icon on the phones home page?

badRoly · 20/07/2015 13:19

I very minor niggle but the 'back button' is up ^ in the top left corner which is 'wrong' if you're used to Safari - I keep hitting whatever is in the bottom left corner by mistake!

badRoly · 20/07/2015 13:24

Haha! Just accidentally found the sideways swipe back thing Grin

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 20/07/2015 13:26

I've done that a few times as well badroly

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 20/07/2015 13:34

Ooh another question. Is there a search function? I want to search using keywords and can't find anything other than the search box in topics

Germgirl · 20/07/2015 13:34

Thank you rainbow :)

Photos looking good, haven't tried to post one myself yet though.

My TIO is horrid though. Having to scroll down an entire thread to read a two word post is a massive no no for me. And it seems to be in a totally random order now...?

BeyondTheWall · 20/07/2015 13:35

Is there a refresh button that I just can't find? Confused

BeyondTheWall · 20/07/2015 13:36

Ahh got it, it does it when you swoosh down as well as up Smile

ThursdayLast · 20/07/2015 13:38

I second what annie said - having the whole post in a different colour like on the mobile desktop version is much easier to see where I need to read from!

I've just noticed that topics I have hidden on the mobile and desktop sites don't seem to be synced with the new app and are appearing in active. I can't see a way to hide them in the app - am I being stupid?!

Just seeing if I can post a link

Loveleopardprint · 20/07/2015 14:20

I've never managed that before on my mobile Grin

Twentyninedays · 20/07/2015 14:21

I like the coloured highlights for OP and my posts. I don't mind either way whether they are more coloured or less.

I think you are quite right to keep the background white for the majority of a thread. Many people have eye conditions which make reading on colour background a bit more difficult.

BeyondTheWall · 20/07/2015 14:25

Hq posts are blue too
