Morning all,

And welcome to the new thread!
Grin

As SarahMumsnet said at the end of the last thread, we have Tech on call for fixes this weekend, and various MNHQers will be here to talk and help wherever we can.

We'll be adding to the rolling list of bugs, glitches and dislikes (see below), so please keep the feedback coming. Do remember to list which device you're using, which operating system, and which browser, so we can identify the specific issues.

Right then, who's first?

Those three circles work now, the four little coloured squares have their respective fb, twitter, g and emither. I have three dots at the bottom of each post that works. There's a little chevron that does stuff. It's all good on the iPad.
However, DD has the iPad from waking to bed time.

I'm relegated to a Samsung running android 4.0 and it's terrible. The circles are empty, the dots aren't there and neither is the pointy down arrow. The thought is there, if I prod in the general direction of where the dots/symbols etc should be, it brings up the menu.

But I t s S O. S L O W. !

I'm smoking so much more now as I go for a cigarette while I wait for the thread to load.

And the floaty blue bar sometimes breaks up so much it practically covers the page in blue squares.

I do hope you've not paid the programmers yet.

zoobaby · 23/08/2014 23:29

Galaxy S3
Android 4.3
Cannot click thread titles. Have to press and hold until menu comes up.
Viewed threads don't change colour
Also spacing is wrong... too much white space means less items viewable on one screen (I like to scan the page).
When I'm in the comment box I can only see 5 lined of text and it doesn't allow me to scroll up or down to proof read. If I attempt this, I get kicked out of the box amd sent back up to the top of the screen. I had typed something lengthy yesterday but couldn't get back in the box to make changes and just gave up and navigated away.

hashtagwhatever · 24/08/2014 00:40

Forgive me I haven't read all the posts
Am I the only one who is having trouble opening a thread. I'm having to repeatedly tap away at my phone screen before it will open and not always on the thread I am trying to open.

Hoolit · 24/08/2014 00:40

GALAXY s3, version 4.3 same issues as zoobaby ie cannot click on thread titles but it speeded up a bit when I went on chrome. Issue with chrome is it asked me to login but I couldn't remember my details so requested a reset, each time I use it the link says expired!!
Having been in a similar situation at work and rolling out new updated and ahem...improved systems you do have my sympathies
Now on desktop. Im having trouble posting this too!

PickleMobile · 24/08/2014 04:51

iPhone 4s
Safari
V7.1.2

I've got the TIO issue as previously mentioned.

Also can the OP posts be highlighted in a darker colour? It is quite pale at the minute and if you scroll through a long thread to read OP updates they can be quite hard to spot without going slower or back and forth.

PickleMobile · 24/08/2014 04:51

Oh and same for my own posts (first time I've posted on new site) very pale not very highlighted.

Montegomongoose · 24/08/2014 06:27

Flip option?

iPhone 4 safari

Roonerspism · 24/08/2014 07:06

Oh No! The options buttons now move around my screen when I scroll down - a bit like an incredibly annoying moving advert.

Is this new? Didnt happen last week and I hate it - makes me dizzy averting my eyes.

Also, on an iPhone, I frequently type a post but when I press "post", it just jams...

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 24/08/2014 08:48

Nexus 4
Android 4.4.4
Chrome Beta 37.0.2062.94

No "flag" on bookmarked posts
(No attachment icon (should be paperclip)
No icons on Active or I'm watching buttons)

NoisyOyster · 24/08/2014 09:42

iPhone 5s iOS 7.1.2
Safari

Well... It's useable. Just. It still freezes when I go to bookmark posts and then I have to close down safari manually and then usually cannot be bothered to come back to MN

Biggest gripes now are the paleness of the pp's highlighting- a thin grey colour is not easy to see when scrolling down to read op posts only- I had dark green before which was a much better contrast

Secondly, minor tiny issue but not really much you're going to do about it; it's just not a pretty site. Just looks clinical and like you've run out of "ink" to do borders and thicker lines

Ah well

IonaMumsnet · 24/08/2014 09:46

Mousebacon Can you tell us any more about your email address appearing? Is it right at the top of the page near our logo, or at the top of your posts? That does sound odd. It should just be your username that appears.

Pico2 · 24/08/2014 09:49

I haven't read everything on here and the previous 2 threads, but I have the following issues:

The op's posts aren't highlighted in a sufficiently contrasting colour - they are easily missed. I assume that the colours are chosen to fit into a corporate palette type thing, but the point isn't to look pretty, it's to stand out.

On threads I'm watching you don't get the same type of list of most recent posts as on threads I'm on. That means that if you click on the thread you end up at the top not bottom and have to wade through the stuff you've read already.

mousebacon · 24/08/2014 10:02

Hi, it's right at the top of the screen with what looks like a box to put someone else's email in and a send button. Eek!

IonaMumsnet · 24/08/2014 10:02

Hi Lottieandthedinosaur
To watch a thread, you should see three circles to the right of the mumsnet logo at the top of each board. Just below the one furthest to the right is a smaller circle with a downwards-pointing chevron in. If you tap that you should get a menu up allowing you to go to 'Im on', 'Advanced search' and a few other things including 'Watch this thread' and 'I'm watching'. A few people are having trouble with the circles, but worth having a try of that.

LG G3 on Google chrome and whatever android it runs.
Often loads like this and stays that way for a couple of minutes.
The when I type a reply the text sometimes takes a while to show up in the text box and the cursor really lags behind.
I still can't see posts by the OP highlighted (and I did tick the box)
Also experiencing battery drain from hell and I'd like the option to use a smaller text size to have to scroll less.

It's not half as bad viewing the page with adblock enabled though.

bearfrills · 24/08/2014 10:22

I haven't read the full thread but is anyone else having an issue with pages on a thread?

Usually I have it set up so the thread is divided into pages rather than show all posts but now all messages/posts are showing as one long page rather than divided up (if that makes any sense?). Not sure when the issue started but I'm on quite a long thread and when I accessed it today via TIO I've gotten all the posts instead of pages.

My settings are set to 25 messages per page but it doesn't seem to be making any difference.

On an S5.

Gooseysgirl · 24/08/2014 10:26

Hate the adverts across the top, v distracting the way they keep changing and moving... started to give me a bit of a headache actually. Haven't read the threads so sorry if I'm repeating what others have said!

IonaMumsnet · 24/08/2014 10:31

Bearfrills - can you let us know what device etc you are using? We've heard this from a lot of Galaxy and Nokia users and we're looking into it but would be interesting to hear if it's affecting anyone else.

IonaMumsnet · 24/08/2014 10:36

MontegoMongoose you should find the flip option in the circle with the downwards-pointing chevron in at the top of the thread - just below the three circles next to our logo. Tap on the chevron box to see the menu and it's in the right hand column, second down.

goodtimesinbontemps · 24/08/2014 10:38

Samsung Galaxy S3 here and having similar problems to other users of that device. Its next to impossible to select a topic in active convos. I am tapping and tapping and eventually one will load but it could be the right one or not, it's totally hit and miss. Very frustrating. I like the look of the new layout but finding it very difficult to use. Also experiencing huge battery drain only on mn.
