Morning all,

And welcome to the new thread!
Grin

As SarahMumsnet said at the end of the last thread, we have Tech on call for fixes this weekend, and various MNHQers will be here to talk and help wherever we can.

We'll be adding to the rolling list of bugs, glitches and dislikes (see below), so please keep the feedback coming. Do remember to list which device you're using, which operating system, and which browser, so we can identify the specific issues.

Right then, who's first?

I am on samsung galaxy s4. On the very rare occasions that the thing does open after manically tapping the screen for ages, it opens with no pages so have to scroll through loads of posts to find where i was/get to the end.

I don't like gin that much. Prefer a jack daniels or a pint of Doom!

LEMmingaround · 23/08/2014 20:29

Thanks for trying to sort it all out

IonaMumsnet · 23/08/2014 20:36

LEM - don't! Lalalala. There are no other boards tonight! Thanks for the deets on your device etc. Will pass that on (and order you in a Doom - fine taste, you have!)

PetiteRaleuse - apologies if you've tried this and am patronising you wildly but are you one of the people who has nothing in the 'three circles' on the top right of your screen? If so, try tapping in the middle one and then you should be able to access your account from there. Sorry - it's hard to know what people can see and how to explain it. Hope that helps. Let us know if not.

IonaMumsnet · 23/08/2014 20:39

PS - LEM meant to say, we know there are big issues with Galaxy and Nokia users that we're trying to sort out asap. That might just be something that is rubbish until it's sorted. Do check in on the thread every now and then - I'm sure there will be updates as things get 'cured'. We appreciate it does just suck with all the force of a Dyson in the meantime, but hope it helps to know it's not just you and we're doing all we can with those devices.

Blush

Another one for the list - the auto linkifying of links seems to have disappeared - double square brackets around links works for now.

IonaMumsnet · 23/08/2014 20:53

IAGTBF! How are the kids? Wink

Thanks for that. It's logged.

LEMmingaround · 23/08/2014 20:58

I blame my dp -i wanted an iPhone Angry

Munchmallow · 23/08/2014 21:05

Samsung Galaxy here, all icons are blank, such as the three circles (just empty for me) in the top right and the four boxes ( blank coloured squares for me) above where you post message.

Gah cannot scroll within the text box for posting so unable to edit mistakes!!!

The blue bar that has the search links etc sticks itself over the text and moves up as you scroll then comes back further down in a random position such as 2/3 down.

Exactly the same for me.

Also, missing 3 dots - they were there the other day, now gone.

And, biggest issue is I still cannot post or even preview from my phone.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2
Android

I've just changed my will to leave my children to the care of Itsallgoingtobefine. I feel all calm and zen every time I see her post on this thread!

I don't. I feel a lot calmer for MNHQ posts but IAGTBF has called people whingers for having problems with the new site and doesn't appear to appreciate that people don't want inconvenient workarounds for something that is actually not very good. I appreciate that beta testers have put in lots of work (and I would have been among them if requesting a password reset was not such hard work) but I really have to question how so many of these massive problems were not picked up by them.

Kudos to IAGTBF for posting though, where are the rest of the beta testers?

Sorry, I know we are trying to be all peace and love but it's been winding me up for a day or two now.

EdwiniasRevenge · 23/08/2014 21:34

At least it only sucks with the power of a Dyson.....

if it sucked lile my Henry I'd know we are doomed Grin

IonaMumsnet · 23/08/2014 21:50

Rest assured, Plentyofpubegardens, we fully understand that if anyone was having a whinge they were pretty much entitled to do so this week. Hopefully the workarounds will make things bearable until they can be properly sorted, and things do seem to be on the up, thankfully.

EdwiniasRevenge · 23/08/2014 22:06

Well....

I kind of found my own work around...moving over to chrome and active convos seemed to be much more responsive.

Then I hit a (kind of) glitch....I couldn't remember my password to log in and check TIO.
so I requested a password reset.
but every time I entered my new password (on default S3 Android browser) I got the message "request expired"
so I forced my phone to use the desktop site to do the reset.
then I tried yo log in on Chrome using my new password.
when I hit login I go to the "enter your email address and we'll send you a password reset" page.

Cherriesandapples · 23/08/2014 22:07

It's god that you are addressing a things but really I don't want an ad banner- I don't want ELC whatever and I definitely don't want a Peugeot. I already have a car thanks! I think when ads have become more important than your posters then it is time that I boycott this forum! So I'm having a personal boycott. I'll flick back periodically to see if have they have disappeared.

EdwiniasRevenge · 23/08/2014 22:11

Ok.....even though my phone was telling me I wasn't logged in via chrome it appears to be lying.

If this posts I have successfully been logged in even though I was taken to the password reset page.

Munchmallow · 23/08/2014 22:14

**

Me too. I've just had a look around the mobile site on my laptop and it looks completely different from the mobile site I see on my phone.

So much of it is missing Confused

Pipbin · 23/08/2014 22:18

But Cherries they have to have adverts. It's not that the advertising companies are more important, it's that they are paying the bills. We use this site for free because there are adverts.

Also on the subject of the adverts, be aware that Mumsnet most likely don't vet each advertiser, they will use a company to sell the space on their behalf.

IonaMumsnet · 23/08/2014 22:35

Edwinias - we can see you on the thread! Is that, um, sort of good news?! Sounds like a bit of a nightmare getting there. Keep us updated on whether you're getting in or not via mobile over the next few days.

jaynebxl · 23/08/2014 22:40

Well I'm on a galaxy s4 and it's working ok. Still not great on the eyes and I miss the blue bands on people's names but delighted to see the return of the last few posts on TIO. All very slow though.

mousebacon · 23/08/2014 22:48

Can HQ tell me why my email address is now at the top? Who can see it? Who am I supposed to be emailing?!

I'm on a Nokia lumia windows phone so have way bigger issues but that one is troubling me Smile

cleanmachine · 23/08/2014 22:57

Is there no option to change nickname near the post any more?

It was useful when posting on an embarrassing thread without outing and saved the job of name changing through the main account.

LEMmingaround · 23/08/2014 23:00

how come your galaxy s4 is working then i wonder, mine is still buggered.

BlackDaisies · 23/08/2014 23:03

Yay - back on the desktop site Grin
Am REALLY TRYING to like the mobile site. Seems easier than it was and I appreciate all the hard work going into making it better. But it's still very hard work!
Please don't change this one!

EdwiniasRevenge · 23/08/2014 23:14

Yeah. Moving to chrome appears to have made the site more responsive and functional.

I would still like you to fix the issues so I can use my default browser tho. :-)
