No doubt I will be dismissed as a "whinger', but the whole look of the new mobile site and the functionality of it is just crap.
On the old site, one tap would take you to Active Convos, one tap back to Chat when you were on a thread, etc., etc., now to go anywhere takes three or four taps if you are lucky, how the hell is this quicker, easier and slicker???
All the relevant dots, circles, chevrons, etc., are on my screen but it is still very user unfriendly, forcing users to faff about with customisation and bookmarking, which functions intermittently at best, why do you think this makes it a better user experience??
Visually, it is headache inducing I struggle after 20 minutes and have to close it down. Who on earth thought the layout was a good idea? When you open a thread in Chat you get all the blurb about threads being deleted in 90 days, this is very clear but you lose the OP as it is not clearly defined, from either the blurb above it or the posts below it, again how does this make for a 'better user experience'?
You can spend hours and hours addressing all the bugs and glitches people are flagging up for you, but if you don't address the fundamental design flaw that is the new site you are never going to get anywhere.
I suggested on the other thread that you take the new site off-line to address the faults and design flaws. Users seem to becoming increasingly frustrated with continually pointing out faults and issues, which is hardly surprising. You've taken away a site which worked well for them, maybe needed a few things added to make it better, and given them one which they can't use and are expecting them to politely help you by flagging up techical and other issues which should have been done way before it was ever launched.
Yes. we are where we are but why can you not give the option of the old site so users can actually use it to read and post while you sort out the debacle that is the new site?
