Morning all,

And welcome to the new thread!
Grin

As SarahMumsnet said at the end of the last thread, we have Tech on call for fixes this weekend, and various MNHQers will be here to talk and help wherever we can.

We'll be adding to the rolling list of bugs, glitches and dislikes (see below), so please keep the feedback coming. Do remember to list which device you're using, which operating system, and which browser, so we can identify the specific issues.

Right then, who's first?

Hello Poltergoose please go to 'customise' and turn on 'Show thread options

Ooh. Very fancy. I like Wink

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 03/09/2014 17:58

Having said that, they are a bit visually distracting in a big list if titles like Active. Is there anyway they could be made less bold/ thread titles made more bold?

TheRealMrsSmith · 03/09/2014 18:34

Hi don't know if this has been mentioned but the new layout no longer highlights thread titles on threads I've already read. Keep opening posts only to find I've already read it Sad

Yes, threads I've read are no longer turning purple for me either
Xperia Chrome Android

MultipleMama · 03/09/2014 20:37

I have the same problem as Swedish. Threads I've read are not showing in purple. And ads are still appearing in a posters box and not inbetween. It's also a flash ad that is annoying - especially in the middle of a thread instead of at the top.

? 'And it's getting better...' ?

ItsNotEasyBeingGreen · 03/09/2014 20:42

The MN have commented on this thread doesn't work, it's very annoying... It doesn't take you to the MN post at all!

ItsNotEasyBeingGreen · 03/09/2014 20:45

On this thread it doesn't even seem to do anything. Are you sure it's a hyperlink? On inculKate's thread it just reloads the entire page.

Again IPhone 5c, iOS 7.1.2.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 03/09/2014 21:13

read threads not changing to purple here either...

Spoonyforker · 04/09/2014 07:50

Not at all a tech issue (I've already reported tech issues using my old user name), just a query about ads.

How closely are the ads vetted before going on the site? Came across the ad in the picture and, given that MN has a lot of users who have tried IVF (and a lot for whom it didn't work) I think it's a bit insensitive. Maybe I'm over thinking it? I don't know.

Thanks for the bump/ delete in watching.... When will they actually work?!

GiveMeCheesecake · 04/09/2014 10:36

When I'm in a thread and click on the discussion topic at the top, eg. AIBU, Chat etc so I can get back to that board, it takes me to this page instead...

Same here

Romeyroo · 04/09/2014 13:46

Just to say I am still struggling with the visual aspects, and can only go on the mobile site for short times; otherwise I get a headache. The adverts to break up the text (not sure if I should let on to this) does not work as the adverts don't show up on my phone - therefore creating more white space (kind of the opposite to what you intended). There is just a white box which says Advertisement in the corner.

This may be my anti-virus software, though. I just checked on my DD's i-touch and I can see the adverts.

Anyway, I am going to get a new charger for an old Android tablet I have and see if that works any better for me. There is only so much of the Guardian I can read.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 04/09/2014 14:47

I'm getting the biscuit instead of the topic page too. Very annoying.

SoonToBeSix · 04/09/2014 14:54

Why has the font gone really small. I don't wear glasses but I feel like I need to now! Please tell me this is an error and isn't staying like this?
Also re the white I thought that was going to change , it doesn't seem to have?

JessicaMumsnet · 04/09/2014 15:11

Hello, thank you all for pointing out changing colour for read threads, we'll take a gander at that one.

JessicaMumsnet · 04/09/2014 15:12

Biscuit related problems we're on it now, we just wanted to wait until the webchat was over before fiddling...

Thanks

Hi Romeyroo, sorry you're struggling. Have you got an ad blocker of some kind?

Hello, we haven't been fiddling with the font today promise! We made some changes the week before last to darken the font and make it heavier to reduce feelings of glare and we're adding the adverts inline to test out that approach.

If possible, could you screenshot what you're seeing?

Thank you Thanks

JellyBeansHaveNoAgeLimit · 04/09/2014 15:19

The mobile site is now much more usable for me- Yey Grin

my problems are now mostly to do with clicking:
.Nothing happens when i click on the floating toolbar
.Clicking on a thread in active doesn't always work & i can't actually tell where or when I've clicked as the link doesn't depress or change colour
.when i click to post a message the screen goes grey & nothing happens, i have to refresh the page to see my post
.most annoying is not being able to scroll down in the text box! If i want to place the cursor within text I've already typed to edit it i can't then get to the end of the message to continue typing!
