Hi all,

As you know we have launched the new mobile site, we know it's a big change and we are still very keen to get it right with your help. This is very much a version that will evolve with your help as part of the testing process.

There have been a few glitches that have/are being ironed out and the HUGE thread has nearly maxed out, so we thought it best to start a shiny new one.

We know change is tricky but, as with most things MN, we are all ears and happy to look at any feedback you have on ways we can improve the new site.

Why can I see a huge list of my hidden threads?

They are all there, visible, when I go to 'threads I'm on'.

I have gone to the app because I couldn't cope with the new mobile site.

Really Mumsnet it's FUCKING awful.

There doesn't seem to be any way to see how many pages are in a thread? I randomly scroll forward to see if anything will come up. I 'm sorry but still really can't get on with the new site at all. Please don't feel it's just because nobody likes change. When change improves I love it or even if it just had worked the same I wouldn't be complaining. It's really horrible to strain to read with the faint lettering. I have less than 2 thumb widths to read the text in now- it feels cramped. The huge white spaces are pointless. We are here to read text thanks. I have so much affection for this brilliant funny site, please don't make it so hard to use.

and I've got a bad back and I'm in agony.
normally I would just lie and mumsnet and now I can't even do that. I'm really pissed off actually.

Why, for the love of god, won't you answer the question of can we have the option to go back??! WHY????????

Oo my advert has stopped flashing. That's much better. Hopefully that's not just because of the particular as but a fix in itself.

I don't like the new look but I do like how quickly they are working out the glitches.

Bugger. Now have a different ad and it's flashing. I take it all back.

Off to the iPad. I really do think my children will thank MNHQ for this. If I can't use MN on iPhone they might get a bit of attention while we are at parks and cafés.

I think that what irks me most is that the old site was a bit clunky, and even a little twee, but those were both endearing features. It helped make mn feel like something friendly that had grown over time.

The new design, however, feels like a corporate top-down imposed design, and while there are some nice things in it (ellipses, smiley menu), it just feels too "slick and commercial" compared to the old one.

(that, and the reduced functionality... What's with the number 18 on tio?)

For those asking for the old site, it's not going to happen... That would mean mn maintaining effectively 3 (2x mobile, 1x desktop) seperate sites and underling source code, effectively adding a third to their site maintenance costs just to support existing users.

I think this may be a particular problem with my OS as others don't seem to be bothered in the same way.

There's no paperclip. The shortcut bar is too pale.

My shortcut bar and advert also rarely move. I've lost them completely a couple of times when I've scrolled past but that's all. Otherwise they stay put.

I'm using a Nokia Lumia 1020 Windows Phone with the new OS - 8.1.

But Sherbourne there is always the option of returning to the older site entirely. What is the split of users who prefer new/prefer old? If more dislike it than like, what is the point of continuing to piss off your users?

When I have tried to post it has taken forever and Ive had to refresh the page which has resulted in duplicate posts. I cant find a report button to reporr the duplicates unless I use the desktop version - not easy on.a phone screen.

The floating blue bar obscures the text of posts so I cant read them.

The white contrast is giving me a headache.

Im sick of having to scroll down to the bottom of the page to jump to the end of a thread if Ive already started reading it.

That point about skimming vs reading is a good one - nothing in this layout catches my eye (apart from the ads of course).

MNHQ, you're normally so good at communicating - PLEASE today could you stop trilling merrily about glitches and fixes and acknowledge that there are serious problems here and users do actually feel it's a step backwards? I'm actually getting far crosser because it feels like I'm being jollied along like a toddler.

Its taking forever to bookmark things but have managed to highlight posts now and find the back to top button. Only problem now is the white screen. I'm not epileptic and haven't had migraines for years but more than ten minutes with this and I have a headache! I even read a book last night and spoke to my dh ! loving the smilies by the way.

I came onto the thread to ask about the 'top' but ion but I've just found it so I've very happy now.

I use mobile 90% of the time. Tried the app a while ago and didn't get on with it. Desktop site on mobile is workable but not by any means easy to browse quickly and fluidly, as the old mobile site was. Posting on it is a massive chore.
It is not an exaggeration or being a drama llama to say that my MN use will be pretty much dead with this new mobile site. And no warning of change! I feel sad about it but that's that I suppose.

Dear god. Have just come back to the mobile site to see if it's any better. It's not. It took me ages to post this and the whole thing makes me think "FUCK OFF PEUGEOT. JUST FUCK OFF" I was going to buy a Peugeot but I've changed my mind.

I begrudgingly like the blue task bar and the bottom. But can the advert that stays with you please please stop? There's no space for the actual thread?!

When I post my phone shows a windows phone does not support this type of file sign, but when I come back to the site I find I have posted twice even if I only pressed post once.

I'm sorry, I hate everything about the new version. The awful intrusive ad at the top of every page is the worst. I'm not using it on ohone anymore, which is a shame.
