Hands up everyone who wants to try out the BRAND NEW MUMSNET MOBILE SITE

Hello comrades

As lots of you will know, we've been developing a brand new, souped up version of the Mumsnet mobile site for seven geological eras quite a long time now.

We can now exclusively reveal that the new mobile site is... TOTALLY AND UTTERLY ABOUT TO BE RELEASED, LIKE, ANY TIME NOW.

We've tested it on loads of MNers ( to those who have helped out) but inevitably there will be glitches that only reveal themselves once tens of thousands of you dive in and start using it - so please use this thread to let us know about those (with the usual info about browsers and devices).

And if you like it, please pass along and to ShamTech, BrunoTech, JessicaMumsnet and all the other techs and MHQers who have been working their digits off on this.

The new improved apps are coming, honest... but in the meantime, if the old apps are driving you bonkers, do please take the new mobile site for a test drive.

Also using a Samsung galaxy & its a right old mess! The navigation bar is floating randomly around the page & then disappears entirely. The circles at the top are cool however aren't labeled so i can't see which is which. I am also disliking i'm on as i have to scroll through the whole thread to get to the new posts. I liked having a summery of who had recently posted.
The page navigation is also only showing on the bottom of the page now too.
I think i can see the general look you're going for though & i do like it just fix the other problems please!

And why does bookmark take me to the top?
And why cannot I still not highlight the OP?

I'm on a BlackBerry (actually, right now I'm on an iPad because it's unusable on a BlackBerry).

Please change back.

Hate it. Too white. Too bland. It's reeeaallly slow too
I like not typing smilies but I hate the rest. Where is flip thread? I don't like how the stickies on threads aren't highlighted. Is there really no way to put it back to normal

Also didn't appear like my post had worked until i switched to the desktop site!

Why feel sorry for mn? I'm not aware of anyone complaining about the old mobile site.

Any way you can get rid of the stupid blue box at the bottom and irritating ad at the top? There's so little text visible to begin with and this just.makes it worse.

Also, as pp have pointed out, it's incredibly slow and I can't get highlighted op posts even though it's customised to do so.

I do have form for flouncing off sites that come up with annoying new layouts. I stopped used the met office a couple of months ago.

The old layout was fine. This one takes longer to load and is a total nightmare to read.

I hate this. I don't use the app because I don't like its format. Eyes starting to hurt already from the glare and the flashing advert.
What am I supposed to do now?
Anyone know how to bring up the desktop site?

Also, it's impossible to report posts. Can't see a report button anywhere (windows phone)

Have discovered that if you click on the plain circle down there ?? then you can upload pictures.

I hate it. It won't let me post!

I don't know what the circles are at the top of the page or the coloured blocks at the bottom.

The pages take such a long time to load and if I click on a thread in active convos, it doesn't highlight, so I don't know if I've selected it or not.

Someone said you can customise to highlight the OP's posts, but there isn't a button on my screen, just the empty circles and the blocks...

It just looks as if there's a lot missing

I could get used to it all, apart from when you look on threads "I'm Watching" or "I'm On" you can't see the poster's names and first sentences meaning it's just takes you right back to the beginning, you can't dip back in where you left off.

Not impressed so far. Can't be bothered to read this thread do this might have been answered but how do I flip a thread? Annoying to have to scroll all the way down on a long one.

Annoying the op not being highlighted as well.

I didn't know anything about it - why do you announce things at half past 2 this afternoon and then FORCE it on people????

My tablet has frozen, so I can't even carry on complaining - I was trying to tell you that I don't like the weird little "symbols" at the bottom of the screen - a | does not tell me "click here for more options" and a little blue rectangle does not tell me "you can add a file or picture here" - you know what does tell me "you can add a file or picture here"? A frigging picture of a frigging camera, or a picture of a windows folder!!!

god knows why you thought of a | to say "more options" - i went when i saw that bit!

angelopal - i have my own posts highlighted on the new site, but not sure about OPs (they should be but have only been on threads I or MNHQ have started in the 20 minutes since I discovered this travesty)

Mumsnet please will you respond to this thread . Is it possible to have a choice to switch back to the old format? I am not being fussy the white is painful. Thank you

Oh and can I get rid of the annoying adverts at the top?

yy - you can't tell which are stickies.

On the old mobile site, I could see Threads I am on; that does not seem to be an option here.

It's dreadful! Keep clicking on ads at the top and how do I flip a thread??!

that - i want to see latest posters in threads I'm on, and i also want to be able to click straight onto it.

Sorry, it's awful, please can we have the old fersion back. Hate not being able to read the last few posts in TIO, too much functionality is hidden, the OP and your own posts aren't highlighted, I was perfectly happy with the old version.
