Hello comrades

As lots of you will know, we've been developing a brand new, souped up version of the Mumsnet mobile site for seven geological eras quite a long time now.

We can now exclusively reveal that the new mobile site is... TOTALLY AND UTTERLY ABOUT TO BE RELEASED, LIKE, ANY TIME NOW.

We've tested it on loads of MNers ( to those who have helped out) but inevitably there will be glitches that only reveal themselves once tens of thousands of you dive in and start using it - so please use this thread to let us know about those (with the usual info about browsers and devices).

And if you like it, please pass along and to ShamTech, BrunoTech, JessicaMumsnet and all the other techs and MHQers who have been working their digits off on this.

The new improved apps are coming, honest... but in the meantime, if the old apps are driving you bonkers, do please take the new mobile site for a test drive.

It's hurting my eyes too.

I like this - it'll take a while to get used to, and it feels more crowded than the old version, but I like it!

On my watch list, I used to be able to see the headings of new posts but now just see the heading and a number showing, I presume, new posts since I last viewed - however to see the actual new posts I have to scroll through the whole thread again?! Not good when done threads are huuuuge!

Screenshot from my windows Phone, which I had to email to my android tablet to post because as you can see, the attachment box is blank. Also the bottom bar is a bit wishy-washy, I would like it a stronger blue like the android version please.

It doesn't seem to be working properly on my samsung galaxy s3. My page is a right old mess, nothing like the photos posted of other's screens. All the links are listed after the ...

you can imagine the state of the top of my page!

I also can't post, I've had to swap back to the desktop version to post this.

Here's how it looks on my 5S..pretty good I think..

The desktop site seems to be the same though. I'm now using that instead!

firstly, it's fucking horrible.
secondly, I would like some warning.
thirdly, I thought you were doing an app not changing the website

what's immediately wrong with it - tgere is no "top" or "reply" button in the page itself to scroll to the top or bottom imnediately.
I thought "well, "top" and "reply" must be on those buttons at the bottom"
NO THEY FRIGGING AREN'T!!
the buttons I use MOST are "top" and "reply"
so why do I only get twattish buttons like "watch" and "add post" ??

is "add post" sypposed to be "reply"??
then fucking put "reply" !!

Is there a way to get all OP posts highlighted as before? Since change only original post is highlighted.

Think I will be spending a lot less time on here as use mobile site from phone 99% of the time.

Well I for one don't bloody like it. Why isn't there a 'top' button so I can just go back up?
Do I have to go back and customise everything again so I can highlight ops posts and my own?
Why is it all so big?
why is there a hideous advert at the top and massive amounts of space wasted at the bottom for a toolbar I won't use?
why did you do this to us? Why? WHY???
What was wrong with the original, USEFUL format??

If I try to enlarge a photo on a post it just enlarges the advert at the top and the blue bar at the bottom so they meet
Please please please change it back. Not sure I will stay if it stays like this. It's not user friendly at all.

I am on a Windows phone and I HATE it, it is AWFUL. I feel sorry to be so negative when MNstaff have worked on this, but I really don't like it.

I've got rid of the annoying blue box at the bottom but know I can't see a shortcut to Active convos. If you need a thread to explain stuff, then it's badly designed in the first place. And and and I really don't like how close the fb and twatter link buttons are to this box - feels like they would be easy to click by accident

Gosh I think people should calm down, some of you are sounding like spoilt 8 year olds having a tantrum!

I feel sory for MNHQ at times like this. They must feel like telling everyone to F off! I would anyway

Things I like about New Mobile Mumsnet:

Simple layout. Having things hidden inside buttons means it's less cluttered and I'm less likely to click by accident.

Icons and font. Clear, logical, inoffensive.

Blue bar - precisely the five links I click most often, but now zero scrolling required to find them.

Once I'm used to where stuff lives I'm sure it will be better.

But I am effectively locked out of my quiche without the "post as" option and long threads will be unmanageable without "flip". If those are missing and not just hidden I will have to change how I MN.

MN I'm off now for GBBO. I might be back later, but will probably leave it until tomorrow. Where it'll all be back to normal and this nonsense will simply have been a bad dream.

Can I suggest next time you get better testers for your updates!!! ;)

How the hell do I post a message? From an iphone?

The text is smaller. The 'top' button - why remove that?! And the advert at the top combined with the bar at the bottom crowds the screen.

It looks horrible and is more unwieldy to use.

Can we have the old one back please?!

Also using a Samsung galaxy & its a right old mess! The navigation bar is floating randomly around the page & then disappears entirely. The circles at the top are cool however aren't labeled so i can't see which is which. I am also disliking i'm on as i have to scroll through the whole thread to get to the new posts. I liked having a summery of who had recently posted.
The page navigation is also only showing on the bottom of the page now too.
I think i can see the general look you're going for though & i do like it just fix the other problems please!
