Hello comrades

As lots of you will know, we've been developing a brand new, souped up version of the Mumsnet mobile site for seven geological eras quite a long time now.

We can now exclusively reveal that the new mobile site is... TOTALLY AND UTTERLY ABOUT TO BE RELEASED, LIKE, ANY TIME NOW.

We've tested it on loads of MNers ( to those who have helped out) but inevitably there will be glitches that only reveal themselves once tens of thousands of you dive in and start using it - so please use this thread to let us know about those (with the usual info about browsers and devices).

And if you like it, please pass along and to ShamTech, BrunoTech, JessicaMumsnet and all the other techs and MHQers who have been working their digits off on this.

The new improved apps are coming, honest... but in the meantime, if the old apps are driving you bonkers, do please take the new mobile site for a test drive.

I already posted on the other thread but will add my voice to everyone else's.

Please at least give us the option of switching back to the old one.
If I have to stick with this I really won't be as likely to post.

What I presume is the MN logo in top left corner is showing up as broken image.

Mine is still on old style. Is there a roll out or big bang release?

Just a few more things, sorry! (using Nexus 5 - Chrome) On Active Conversations, there is a blank picture box at the top left under the ad bar, is that meant to be the logo? Threads also seem to be loading a lot slower than on the old mobile site.

I do like the font and general layout, it's just there is a lot of white space. The text is also a little difficult to read as it is quite pale on the white background, is there a way to make the text darker?

I have reselected the option to highlight the op's posts, but it isn't doing it
Other people's posts are displaying in a random array of font sizes which is rather disconcerting.
I miss having the op's initial post repeated on each page
I like that the 'report' button is harder to find because I used to keep hitting it by accident (where is it now btw?)

Using chrome on an android tablet.

I'm sure I'd get used to it, but the banner at the top is static, so it means there's even less room to read posts, so I will be avoiding the mobile site.

k I get that it takes a bit of time to get used to newness. But there I also a loss in functionality in the new design:-

1. Op posts not highlighted. And yes I've tried to customise it!
2. Can't jump to a specific post from the I'm On section. V annoying to have to go to first page every time.
3. Even more annoying I have to scroll to the BOTTOM of the first page to find a "last" button, that tips me into cross.
4. I have a new blackberry, screen is about half the size of an iphone screen and the ads at the top are sucking up a QUARTER of the screen.
5. The blue shortcut bar at the bottom also sucks up a quarter of the screen.
6. It also seems to come and go, not sure how its controlled?

I'm only using the new site about 10m!

On the up, I do like the new font. It's cleaner. Modern.

On a Nexus 7 Here. I've got a headache now
agree with others, the customise OP part is not working, but my main problem is that the font size is playing up. Some posts are in the usual font size but others are in ant writing and there does not seem to be any rhyme nor reason to it. If I expand the text so the page adjusts like on any other website it doesn't work and I lose half the text!

Hate it. Although may be a good thing could cure my MN addiction

Btw, how are people grabbing screenshots of their phone? I'd love to post how much of my screen is covered up...

Top Tip: Hit add new post to get to the bottom to change page quickly.

I can accept ad space at the top. But the blue icon bar at the bottom is awful.

I'm reading threads through a little letterbox slot on my blackberry.

And it's slow. LOADS of white space and it's actually slower .

I don't like it. What happened to the post preview on threads I'm on?
You've messed with my colours and now it'll take me ages to sort that out.

I'm with Toby.

Too little readable screen space on the iPhone and within that space there's too much white space. I can see about 3 posts at a time.

I really did like if how it was - no complaints at all.

I'm sorry, I'm sure people worked hard but it's just not very good on the phone. I'll try the iPad later.

What phone do you have Wilting?

Windows phone. My blue bar is a nice gentle pale blue but id rather it was a stronger blue like i can see in some posters pics.

I need all OP posts highlighted, not just the opening post please.

is there. Supposed to be anything in that 3rd circle under the posting box? I have emoticons, formatting help and a blank box.

Its a bit slow though that could easily be my connection.

Just took me three minutes to scroll back to where I was before I posted, because posting automatically reloaded the entire thread at the top. And then it only loaded a couple of posts at a time so I couldn't high-speed scroll down as I used to be able to do. It was more of a snail's crawl.
I mean seriously why is this an improvement? What is good about it?

"Go to page" doesn't work. Also, really annoying that it's at the bottom.

It's bit of a nightmare.

Where is Customise please? Also agree with lots of pp criticisms, including no first/last etc at top as well as bottom.

Where is the bloody customise? Can't see any little arrows top right.
