Hello comrades

As lots of you will know, we've been developing a brand new, souped up version of the Mumsnet mobile site for seven geological eras quite a long time now.

We can now exclusively reveal that the new mobile site is... TOTALLY AND UTTERLY ABOUT TO BE RELEASED, LIKE, ANY TIME NOW.

We've tested it on loads of MNers ( to those who have helped out) but inevitably there will be glitches that only reveal themselves once tens of thousands of you dive in and start using it - so please use this thread to let us know about those (with the usual info about browsers and devices).

And if you like it, please pass along and to ShamTech, BrunoTech, JessicaMumsnet and all the other techs and MHQers who have been working their digits off on this.

The new improved apps are coming, honest... but in the meantime, if the old apps are driving you bonkers, do please take the new mobile site for a test drive.

Omg wtf have you done? I go to the beach for the day and come back to chaos.

Despite going into customise its still not highlighting all the ops posts and some threads seem to start at the end? How do you flip threads? How do you get it to show all the thread on one page and err how do you start a new thread?!!

5 minutes in and I've got a 'bright-screen' headache - too much white!
And in TIO I can only see the title - not any of the replies. And I have no idea what the number is for!
My iphone is finding it very slow and clunky to load this thread and scroll down - possibly because it's long.

This might be the push I need to get of MN for good!

This is how much ad/blue bar I am seeing. I am not resistant to change, I promise but my scrolling thumb is getting tired! And what Bearandcub said about the Guardian. That is not a good thing

Oooh, I love it. It's like the olden days in terms of colour scheme but so much neater and easier to use.

Not a fan, sorry, it's awful!

I am missing having a 'top' button next to posters names though.

Oh and how do you report a post? Not that I have seen one to report but you know just in case.

Oh and thread titles get split - words get split if they don't fit on a line! Poor formatting!

To highlight OPs post go to customise (wee arrow top right) make sure you save options.

To report/bookmark/pm etc click ellipses after each post (bookmark seems a bit wonky though)

To start a new thread, navigate to the section you want to start the thread in then use drop down menu at top right

OMG sorry but the version is just horrid. Please change back to the old one!

Too bright and the lack of definition between headers of posts means eyes are scanning to define difference between header and post.

It's very busy, I have to keep blinking to focus on text.

The old version was very clunky with buttons on each post and dark headerS but this... This needs softening. Pastels maybe mumsnet?!

Cannot see latest posts on TIO (what, I have to remember whether there were 3or 8 posts since my last one since I last read it?)
Cannot change posting name easily.
Have to scroll down to post not convenient on a mobile.

I can't think why I have never asked this before, but can you change the position of the 'Post' button? It is about 0.5cm from the letter P button on the iPhone keyboard, and I know that I am not the only one who frequently finds that she's p

I've gone to the desktop version... I am going to summarise all of the issues. For MNTech who I'm sure worked hard but...

1. Original post is no longer at the top of the page. This was very useful!
2. Even after finding 'customise' thanks to another MNer the OP's posts are not coloured like they used to be. This was very useful!
3. On an iPhone, only half of the screen is useful, the advert at the top, the blue bar at the bottom and the iPhones own toolbar at the bottom take up half the useful space. This will result in a ridiculous amount of scrolling!
4. You can no longer flip a thread! I used to flip virtually every thread I read! I can't anymore and I don't like it.
5. There's too much white space making it very uneasy on the eye, I suppose I could get used to this, and turn down the brightness of my screen.
6. I can't see anywhere where you are alerted to the fact you have something in your inbox.
7. On an iPhone scrolling, which you have to do a lot of (see point 3) is very jumpy!
8. The number of posts on a thread is displayed incorrectly.
9. Bookmarking shoots me to the top of the page!

That's all. I appreciate it probably took a lot of work but you should have tested it better.

Is the logo for threads I'm watching a torch?
Don't like not being able to preview the messages in threads I'm on/watching...or the huge advert at the top.

I get that it's meant to feel like an app, and that's fine. But I abandoned the app because of the lack of customisation (My Topics is brilliant but it was impossible to delete any; highlighting OP's and my own posts is a must) so I'm a bit pissed off to lose the customisation here too.

Oh. My. Goodness. It's. So. Slow. How is that even possible?

Word wrapping is a bit odd. That is probably slow server combined with fairly basic phone though tbh. And why is the Add Comment box only five lines high?

And where the fuckity fuck is the ad hoc namechange checkbox?

The blue bar at the bottom doesn't work properly. If I bookmark a post, after the thread whizzes to the top, grrr, I go to hit a button on the blue bar and have to press it six or seven times to make it work. Please take this back to testing, please

I have gone into customise and ticked the box to highlight and saved changes but it's not doing it consistently. Mainly just highlighting the op but no further posts.

Lady if you click on the ... at the bottom of each post there's an option to go to the top.

5madthings click on the ... at the bottom right of each post and you can PM or report.

I really dislike it. Too much adspace/blue bar, no original post at the top of each page...and sorry but it just looks shit. I liked the look of the old one, nice size text, everything there with no searching.

If you're going to go to all this trouble and not even give us a quote function, don't bother.

Though I do like the blue bar. It's swishy and useful.
