HemmingGate: To ban or not to ban, that is the question MNHQ

Some of us would like to know if a certain politico will be banned, proper.

No rush.

We know you have a lot on your plate with ... stuff.

(I probably got two quotes mixed up in subject line. Don't panic! It's me not you. Am philistine. Italy is wasted on me. Not keen on art, prefer shopping.)

Thanks Justine. I would have preferred you just banned him for being abusive of the forum. And other posters here.

Spero · 13/01/2014 22:42

I think its quite sweet that Justine appeared to be of the view that prior to all this there had been any 'constructive' debate with JH...

NoseWiperExtraordinaire · 13/01/2014 22:57

On balance, it seemed strangely evidence based for JH.

Perhaps he's been taking notes about what people want.

Nothing about adoption targets, but lots about advice to leave the country.

Nothing at all about what he intends to do to campaign for change, or did I miss that bit?

MadameDefarge · 13/01/2014 23:04

I really want JH to spend some of his money on a decent barber and a decent tailor. It would make having to look at him marginally less gruesome than it is at the moment.

After all, what is the point of being a millionaire MP if you can't afford a decent haircut and a decent suit?

Just saying.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 13/01/2014 23:06
Wink
Spero · 13/01/2014 23:22

Nosewiper, I doubt you missed it because I highly doubt it was there.

This is what frustrates and angers me so much about the whole thing. He is actually in a position to DO something, he has access to people in positions of power. He could be a force for good.

But he isn't.

MadameDefarge · 13/01/2014 23:27

tsk beyond.

sanssoleil · 13/01/2014 23:58

please rid us of this pestulant polititian

FamiliesShareGerms · 14/01/2014 05:14

I've just watched the Panorama programme. I thought it was extremely irresponsible in that if you only watched the first 15 mins the only messages were that SS will snatch your children if they have unexplained fractures; if you take them to a hospital you won't leave with them; you should go abroad because you can't get justice from the family court here; and your children will be adopted and you will never see them again.

It wasn't until 20 mins in that we were shown an explanation for the medical misdiagnosis and a case where the investigation didn't result in adoption.

And incidentally, all the children who were removed as very small babies (a few months old) were much older toddlers when placed for adoption - hardly "snatching" to meet financial targets...

FrontForward · 14/01/2014 08:43

I wonder if he will stand up and be counted when a child is hurt or killed because of his advice

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 14/01/2014 09:01

Doh, I saw all the petition stuff yesterday and missed Justines post!

LostInWales · 15/01/2014 11:10

Why are people not signing the petition in droves? Should I, could I, dare I put it in AIBU with a suitable 'come hither' title?

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/01/2014 11:17

Good plan! Grin
It'll prob get moved to petitions, but should take a while til that happens

LostInWales · 15/01/2014 11:26

Oh boy, I never go in AIBU, it scares me witless.

Done.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/01/2014 11:32

I'll keep an eye on it and keep it bumped

borninastorm · 15/01/2014 11:34

I've signed the petition, it needs loads more signatures perhaps the creator of it could start a post on MN asking people to sign it, if this hasn't been done already.

And also if everybody shares it on FB and Twitter it'll reach more people. And it might be worth contacting the media who wrote about the original story advising them a petition has been started.

The more publicity you get for it the more likelihood there is of stopping MPs from thinking they are above the the law.

Pleased to hear that Justine and MN have taken the decision to ask him not to return here.

borninastorm · 15/01/2014 11:36

Oh, and also ask MN to tweet the petition link to their 50,000+ twitter followers.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 15/01/2014 11:42

I've just signed up to mailwatch (waiting for approval now) to share it on there. Dont need to create a thread even, they already have one Grin

LostInWales · 15/01/2014 11:54

Thank you, I am but a drone in the service of the clever ones, those are great ideas.
