HemmingGate: To ban or not to ban, that is the question MNHQ

Some of us would like to know if a certain politico will be banned, proper.

No rush.

We know you have a lot on your plate with ... stuff.

(I probably got two quotes mixed up in subject line. Don't panic! It's me not you. Am philistine. Italy is wasted on me. Not keen on art, prefer shopping.)

Ladies, thread is about 800 posts now.... Just saying that I will have to disappear for a few days. Not been banned, just studying. I am reachable through FB anyway ;)

CarpeVinum · 03/01/2014 23:16

Bit perturbed to see JH on BBC Breakfast today talking about the programme on tonight and repeating his "advice" to parents who come onto SS radar to go abroad if at all possible... Obviously a) BBC don't read twitter; or b) BBC don't care

RubyGoat · 13/01/2014 08:57

Yes, I say that. How unpleasant. What about, I don't know, making sure they can actually get a fair trial! Rather than just saying they can't, better pop off abroad until it all blows over. Angry

RubyGoat · 13/01/2014 08:58

Whoops, meant to say I saw that.

Spero · 13/01/2014 10:09

Hah! I like where he says 'go abroad if it is legal'.

What an disgrace.

It is an utter mystery to me, and has been now for several years, that he is permitted to take money from the tax payer in his MP salary yet can carry on accusing the entire child protection system of corruption and children being snatched for financial gain and nobody seems to care or do anything about him.

Instead he gets a slot on Panorama.

bloody marvelous.

stickysausages · 13/01/2014 10:51

Heard the piece on BBC this morning, they said "coming up, the mp advising parents to flee the country" and my first thought was 'ooh.. bet it's JH'.

There are no words, that won't get me deleted...

Spero · 13/01/2014 10:55

o I dunno sausages, I have been using quite a lot of WORDS about JH since Christmas and so far not deleted...

MadameDefarge · 13/01/2014 13:44

good day ladies, I am returned from the the banishment of not paying bill on t'internet...happily they have now fraked my bank account which means I can lose lots of weight not eating but can MN instead.

Lilka · 13/01/2014 14:04

I'm dreading Panorama tonight. I will watch it but...

Yes, the fact that in rare cases a wrong diagnosis of a medical problem can be made, is an issue worth talking about. As is 'how can a parent clear their name after a wrong diagnosis has been made'. BUT I truly don't think tonight's program is going to provide a sensible discussion of this issue. I think it's going to be hideously sensationalist, and veer towards castigating all social workers and doctors, with lots of JH and perhaps a token statement from a professional/LA at the end

Groan

PacificDogwood · 13/01/2014 14:17

I am going to watch too, but fear I may implode in impotent rage unless the program surprises with a balanced view of problems that can arise in a large, overstretched, underfunded and undersupported system vs JH's loony tunes views.
I shall hope against hope...

Lilka · 13/01/2014 14:37

I have literally no hope at all

Spero · 13/01/2014 16:08

I am getting more hopeful Lilka.

For eg Martin Narey has been engaging with some of us on Twitter in a way which suggests that he agrees with the points we are making about JH. He has even tweeted that no one in Gov listens to him (JH) and various people have pointed out that isn't good enough, Government should act to correct the really dangerous misinformation spread by likes of JH and IJ.

roadwalker · 13/01/2014 16:57

I hope panorama are sensible enough not to have JH on

JH prevents any proper discussion of the care system/ wrong medical diagnosis because he has his own agenda

roadwalker · 13/01/2014 17:02

OK - just read the blurb, he is going to be on the programme
I will never respect panorama again

Lilka · 13/01/2014 17:07

Spero I meant I have no hope at all for the Panorama program tonight, since finding out JH is on it

I do share your hopes I think :)

Tiredemma · 13/01/2014 17:09

He is going to be all over the Panorama programme like a fly around shit.

WestmorlandSausage · 13/01/2014 17:41

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01pr33b sneak peep of JH on panorama tonight

Spero · 13/01/2014 17:55

Here's a good blog.

Duncan Hames has one more week to reply to me or I am going to start sending him more stuff.

Spero · 13/01/2014 17:59

O gawd, Carpe has just found a you tube video of JH on stage with Brian Gerrish, who has written about Lianne Smith saying she was a 'victim' of evil social workers and the criminal trial against her paedophile partner was trumped up....

WHY is he an MP?

Spero · 13/01/2014 18:01

So its not just the Child Protection system that is corrupt but apparently the criminal courts as well for 'fitting up' wholly innocent paedophiles?

Where does it all end?

www.ukcolumn.org/blogs/lianne-smith-why-there-are-questions-be-asked

Doasbedoneby · 13/01/2014 18:06

' I believe a fundamental failure in our child protection laws is that we still view children as possessions of their fathers and refuse to acknowledge the gendered nature of violence and how children, young girls in particular, are groomed to view violence and male control as normal. '

Is that what you believe Spero?

Lioninthesun · 13/01/2014 18:12

Spero didn't write that blog and I doubt she has exactly the same opinion on everything anyone else writes or says. Who does?
I agree with the majority of that though, although perhaps it is a little based from the radical feminist viewpoint for me, personally.
I think the letter as a whole is correct. JH is a huge liability and should not have access to personal information of any kind. I certainly wouldn't employ him in any firm with sensitive information, let alone Parliament!
