"This is a wind up" was acceptable in the olden days.

But not now.

There's been a few threads recently where the OP was not about begging, emotional vampires, beyond the pale stuff and that ilk.

Just stuff, that if you were having a conversation with your mates, you'd express incredulity.

Why can't these comments be left to stand, rather than a reflex actoin of just zapping them?

Surely there's a difference between a "you've gotta be kiddin" and trill hunting?

Please, please take each comment/thread as a separate case, I really think there's a danger of spoiling the boards with this eagerness to eradicate any implucation of doubt.

Sad

I've been hunting trills for years.

No luck so far.

yabbadabba · 10/09/2012 13:39

Agree, have been here a couple of years and am shocked by all the deletions at the moment.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 10/09/2012 13:39

Oh arse.

troll hunting not trill hunting.

There's no need to hunt Trills, she's easily smoked out. Wink

Nagoo · 10/09/2012 13:40

My mum tried to grow Trill and smoke the sprouts.

I agree with Chaos. A bit of Hmming is alright isn't it?

StealthPolarBear · 10/09/2012 13:41

What has trills done? ;) apart from have a name my phone corrects to 'trolls'
I agree, though not sure which thread you're talking about - bum blow drying?
I'm also puzzled by the babysittting one, we aren't going to be told anything.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 10/09/2012 13:43

And what bum blowing one?

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 10/09/2012 13:44

Hi Chaos,

Assuming you have a specific post in mind? Do you want to report it and we will take a look and try and explain?

ChaosTrulyReigns · 10/09/2012 13:57

Naah, ArEm, I'm talking generalities really. There's been a change on these boards and posts that would have stood a whole back, disappear right qiuck nowadays.

I don't think it's necessarily a delectable offence to write "this is surely a windup" or "unbloodybelievable". But these incredulous (and often lught-hearted) posts seem to be deleted super fast these days without consideration for context.

Dyswim?

Rebecca, I'm flattered!

PseudoBadger · 10/09/2012 14:04

Maybe ArEm will delete a couple of those for you?

EdMcDunnough · 10/09/2012 14:06

I reported one that looked very much like a 'please send me money' thread the other day. It's still there.

Of course I could just be wrong. But threads full of people sending someone they've never met all this stuff, just make me a bit anxious. Especially when it's someone who never posts normally.

atacareercrossroads · 10/09/2012 14:08

Totally agree, and as a side I'm a bit rimmed off that I've had a post deleted for saying an op was a wind up and yet other posts saying the EXACT same remain. Also I didn't really think that telling someone to "sod off to France" was a personal attack, France ain't that bad Confused
