Had a call yesterday that can't supply Ben Nevis ordered on 19th July. Dh took call and didn't know much about it apart from not very happy and got Head Office number to call. I will try tomorrow cos I'd still rather get something even if it is September.

Thank goodness for mumsnet or I wouldn't know what to do.

vickiyumyum · 07/08/2005 20:12

yayy! got my instructions and a £20 b&q voucher as compensation??? do you think they were trying to quieten me and make sure that i didn't add to the big list of complaints?

I plan on putting that rush matting stuff round the bottom to turn the sandpit into a camp. Assuming it turns up. I've even primed my dad witht he fact that I have a job for him...

I had new tyres put on my car yesterday and the man thought I was aloony because I asked him to stick one of the old ones in the boot for me. I'm planning to replace one of the swings with a tyre swing.

Very excited but still have a fortnight til it's delivered!

charliecat · 08/08/2005 08:16

Crazy isnt it, some in stock, some refunds, some arrive,

SoupDragon · 08/08/2005 08:16

BTW, I ordered mine on 19 July at 7:50 am.

SoupDragon · 08/08/2005 08:17

Must have been one of the last to get one I guess.

sammac · 08/08/2005 09:38

Just off the phone and am not getting one All blame on manufacturers. The chap couldn't say how many weren't getting order, but they have been overwhelmed with orders. tried the 'isn't there anything else you can give me route', but they're all done too. Maybe if I hadn't been away all week I might have had a call offering something- but I'll never know!

Got a name to write to
Karl Boyd if anyone needs it.

Off to that complaining site now.

sammac · 08/08/2005 09:39

I think my order was placed about 9.30 on the 19th, so you must have got one of the last ones SD

crumpet · 08/08/2005 10:24

My order was placed at about the same time as you Sammac, and we went through the same farce as everyone else here with phone calls, order numbers, giving card details several times etc, but our Ben Nevis turned up today. Got a delivery card last week, but really wasn't expecting to see it.

Having said that, I've not opened it to see if all the pieces are there, and the delivery men said that earlier this morning they had delivered only a slide to another customer, who was expecting a lot more than that and wasn't best pleased. There seems to be no logic in who gets what.

geogteach · 15/08/2005 19:41

The b***ds have phoned again today i'm not getting one in September either and they are offering me a refund and £20 voucher, I cannot believe their incompetence.

charliecat · 15/08/2005 19:42

aw man Why on earth did they say you would get one then in September?

OP posts:
charliecat · 15/08/2005 19:43

blueteddy · 17/08/2005 22:16

Can I just ask if everyone has followed the instructions & concreted their jungle gyms into the ground?
We are not keen on the idea, but is it unsafe not to & is the whole thing likely to topple if we don't?
We are planning on putting it up next week sometime.

charliecat · 17/08/2005 22:21

we havent put it in the ground yet, my girls are diddy and we have warned them not to go too high on the swings. we will concrete it in though, why are you not keen?

OP posts:
blueteddy · 17/08/2005 22:25

I guess it is that if we move, or decide to sell it will be un-movable!
Is it really huge?! (You got the Ben Nevis didn't you?)

charliecat · 17/08/2005 22:27

Its shrinking on me now ive got used to it, yes we got the ben nevis, what did you get?
I guess if you weanted to move you would dig a dirty great big hole round the legs, tug it out and smash the concrete...or ask the buyers if theydd like to keep it for an extra 700 on the price

OP posts:
blueteddy · 17/08/2005 22:30

Don't know if they would go 4 that one somehow!!!
We got the Ben Nevis & I keep looking at the measurements & wondering how many complaints we will get from the neighbours!!!

charliecat · 17/08/2005 22:31

yeah, How high are your fences? We have not long lived here and no one else has kids round here so we felt VERY banging away at this big thiny in the garden.

noones said anything yet

OP posts:
blueteddy · 17/08/2005 22:33

I have figured that we will have a very child centered garden when it is up!!!
