Shein refusing to refund me

ForWaryBiscuit · 20/10/2024 15:04

Hi guys I sent 2 orders back to shein in the same returns box (so a combined return) I have been refunded for the 1 order but not the other, when the 2 orders were in the same box to be returned.

I've contacted shein and they ate basically saying that my other order has not reached their warehouse. It should have because it was in the SAME box. I really don't know what to do I've been going back and for fos days. It's not just one little thing it's £80 worth of stuff. So now I don't even have the stuff or a refund

Anyone else had a similar situation amd how did you resolve it

I will be deleting shein app off of my phone once I've sorted this

People are so shitty on here sometimes.

OP, presumably you used a credit card to order, so look into doing a chargeback via your credit card company. I always worry when combining orders into one return, I think it's safer to do them separately, I'm always worried something like this will happen.

I don’t see what’s ‘shitty’ about being upset at people using these companies that are widely known to force people into unsafe and unethical working conditions.

You go work 18 hour days with 1 day off a month (if you’re lucky) on next to no pay and then say it’s not an issue.

Stockinggg · 20/10/2024 15:51

Awww sorry to hear this! I did the same thing with h&m last week. 2 returns same box. Started to worry when I only received confirmation they had only received one order. Emailed them and they basically said when they scan the return qr code (could only use 1 return label on outsideof box), it generates the 'we have received your return' email but the package hasn't actually been opened yet. Once it was opened, I then received 2 separate emails confirming each return and have since received both refunds. Hopefully this will be the case for you but the fact that their customer service isn't trying to help is definitely concerning

To those buying from the likes of Shein. I’d like to ask if you’d be happy being forced to work in the conditions people do to make your clothes. If not, then why is it for others?

Theres ignorance and then there’s deliberate not caring which is disgusting.

Saying ‘other companies are as bad’ doesn’t cancel out making unethical choices.

So where do you buy all your stuff from??

Not just clothing....

Borninabarn32 · 20/10/2024 15:52

It would never occur to me to expect a refund from shein. I use them alot but you gamble with them.

roses2 · 20/10/2024 15:52

Does your returns receipt have a package weight on it? I think this only works with Royal Mail.

WhatsInTheRug · 20/10/2024 15:53

PonyPlaiter · 20/10/2024 15:43

Anyone dressing their kids in shein clothes or buying them toys from these dodgy companies needs their heads examined as well

Rude and judgey.....where do YOU buy all your stuff from??

Were you making nasty rude comments too??

Ponderingwindow · 20/10/2024 15:55

No idea why my post was auto hidden. I just said we don’t use that particular site, but when we shop at some overseas websites, we just expect some fraction won’t work out and will end up donated. We never return.

seriously, my post was hidden immediately upon hitting submit. What is going on.

MonsteraMama · 20/10/2024 15:57

Unfortunately this is the dice you roll when you buy cheap shite made by children in sweatshops in china. The company selling that shit is not going to care about your consumer rights if they don't care about the human rights of their own workforce.

It's annoying and frustrating for you of course, but it's just an expensive lesson.

If you mentioned another certain Chinese tat selling site beginning with the letter T and rhyming with Emu, your post will be auto hidden. Other sites may be included in this. No idea why, but the mods are normally quick to check and unhide.

Multiple investigations have found Shein products to contain high levels of lead, PFAS and phthalates, exceeding regulatory norms. It's not all products: do you want to take the risk with your own health? the health of others around you as the chemicals enter the waterways?

Tae a look at this leaflet by Greenpeace Germany on Shein, giving some examples of products with high levels of X: www.greenpeace.de/publikationen/S04261_Konsumwende_StudieEN_Mehr%20Schein_v9.pdf

ForWaryBiscuit · 20/10/2024 15:43

What's it to you WHY I ordered the clothes

Also I don't care where the clothes go after I returned them, I just wanted my money back

It is everybody’s business that people are trying to make it look OK to support child labour, slave labour, toxic substances being forced upon workers and consumers, mountains of plastic clothes ending up in landfill just because they want to ho on a cheap holiday to Turkey and “need” new clothes that they then are fine with ending up discarded but they want to be reimbursed for the pleasure.

You are part of the problem. Everyone who supports them are part of the problem. People weren’t walking around naked before Shein came to the market so don’t say you can’t afford any other clothes. You can also shop second hand cheaper than Shein.

Why is it, they say you can do combined returns. Plus I had the return papers from both orders in the box aswell

Because it's too easy for staff to process one order and steal the other, only one box registered as returned so you've got zero proof of the theft.

If you're going to order from cheepo companies, do so on the understanding that you're not going to be sending anything back - because of the risk of losing not only the original purchase price but the return postage too, when your parcel mysteriously "doesn't arrive".

There are so many crooked people in the world OP, they don't walk around furtively dressed in stripes and balaclava with Swag written on their bags. They look like ordinary people and some of them work in ordinary companies, including fashion and couriers.

AngelicKaty · 20/10/2024 16:16

ForWaryBiscuit · 20/10/2024 15:37

What happen with your combined return situation.. was it similar to mine

And I have contacted my bank with all the evidence needed, so hopefully they could do somthing

If it was 10 pounds worth I'd let it go, but i0 pound is alot of money

"And I have contacted my bank with all the evidence needed, so hopefully they could do something"
How did you pay for the order OP? If you paid by credit card (not via PayPal) you can make a Section 75 claim against your credit card issuer who are jointly and severally liable with the supplier (Shein). NB: S.75 protection is available for purchase values over £100 and less than £30,000.

mummyh2016 · 20/10/2024 16:24

OP how did you return? If it was by RM do you still have the receipt?

WhatsInTheRug · 20/10/2024 16:24

😂 at all the faux outrage here.....yet nobody saying where THEY shop!

BriannasBananaBread · 20/10/2024 16:25

ForWaryBiscuit · 20/10/2024 15:10

Yes, I had a last minuite holiday to Turkey. Needed summer stuff. Unfortunately it was all cheap see threw tat

So next time buy from E5P. They get slated on here because they're cheap and not trying to be ethical and MN demographic seems to be very anti-fast-fashion. But they're not making fash fashion themselves so marginally more ethical than some other companies, they're buying up leftover stock from wherever, so quality is hit and miss, but there's a fair chance what you order won't be see-through tat. They're based in Britain too so you've not got any potential hassles of an overseas order.

Does s75 apply to returns for unwanted items?

I would have thought any claim would be against the delivery company that was used to return the parcel. Although that won’t get very far as the parcel was clearly delivered
