hi
have revived this thread as I'm in exactly the same position - got a toddler, so past the stage of wanting complicated systems, and tired of having to stop every few steps to find out what he's saying to me. the thread was too old for any of the links posted to work, so just wondering if anyone has any ideas, or if any of the original people can chip in again? ideally would like an umbrella style that i can get on and off the bus, and perfect would be one that turns do be either front or rear facing.
thanx

yep- either the lifesaver (kiddicare are doing the whole package for less than £300 i think) or you canb get adaptors for using the M&P viaggio or the graco autobaby (both have in car bases)

Ceolas · 16/03/2007 16:52

And how low down in the carrycot when on the chassis? Higher or lower than the Vigour? SOrry for so many questions! Am currently driving myself mad with all of this. Baby 4 not due til August

nearlythere · 16/03/2007 16:55

carrycot slightly lower than britax but money wise much more sensible- leaves some money left for the maclaren buggy you will inevitably want at a later date!

another working day over and i'm going home to my brood- any more questions ask away and i will answer when i get in tomorrow!

nappyaddict · 16/03/2007 17:39

oooh the chicco ct with a reversible seat. isn't the chicco ct similar to a maclaren? i believe that was what the op was looking for.

nappyaddict · 16/03/2007 17:46

would it be this one

littleducks · 16/03/2007 18:04

nearly three, please please sell me your buzz! I have a techno xt, but my dd has started screaming constantly in it as she cant see me, so anything would be better than that, i need a pushchair that faces me desperately but just moved so am strapped for cash!

misdee · 16/03/2007 18:06

littleducks, how muich can you afford?

littleducks · 16/03/2007 18:14

honestly i shouldnt be spending anything but i cant cope with the screaming, and it my birthday on tues so hopefully will get some money and be able to buy back my sanity,

misdee · 16/03/2007 18:17

i have a 2006 wagtail buzz for sale with matching bag, footmuff and basket for £250, but would consider selling the buggy for £175 with postage.

littleducks · 16/03/2007 18:27

Honest reaction, no i cant afford it but thanks for offering, hope that doesn't offend i really dont know the going rate yet, i probably need to search for an older model or cheaper brand, i just dont want to start cos im going to end up a pramaholic!

Misdee, btw, what happened about your floor? I asked on another thread but killed it.

misdee · 16/03/2007 18:31

insurence are paying out. trying to decide between laminate (will have to lay it myself) or vinyl (will be laid for us)

nappyaddict · 16/03/2007 20:32

i can't recommend the zooper enough. they are goin for £140 with p&p on ebay. that includes bag, footmuff and raincover. absolute bargain! zooper

lucykate · 16/03/2007 20:43

i have one of these
a cosatto nevada. i don't think its made anymore but does come up on ebay. we bought it about 4.5 years ago for dd as i really liked the idea that the seat faces both ways. it has been our best pushchair purchase by far, it fits in the boot of my clio as the wheels pop off easily, despite the front wheel being fixed, once you get the hang of it its really easy to push.

at the moment i'm using it with ds sat facing outwards, as the other side of the seat, which he uses when he's facing the rear, will double as a little seat for dd to perch, on the way home from school. its not really supposed to be used like this, but it has been a godsend when dd's tired.

i would recommend it as a rear facing pushchair

nappyaddict · 16/03/2007 22:51

littleducks, firstatforty has a buzz she is planning on let walk the ebay plank. say so here maybe if you CAT here she might sell to you?

nappyaddict · 16/03/2007 22:52

her

littleducks · 17/03/2007 13:08

im loving the 'walk the ebay plank' phrasing but went to pram shop and was disapointed by how bulky the buzz was, but have fallen hopelessly in love with the icandy cherry, none on ebay though so anyone know of a cheap stockist my local independent is saying £210 (buggy alone no carrycot/footmuff) but the only have fudge colourway.

please help me.....

FirstAtForty · 17/03/2007 16:46

Littleducks the Buzz chassis really is quite bulky and wide, I wouldn't recommend it unless you only shop in BIG shops

That's why I want to sell it as I mainly use the buggy for shopping - but first I have to find something that does rear facing and has the air tyres but is narrower and affordable... challenging!

Can't help re the Cherry stockists but I seem to remember some online shops saying they can give you iCandy prices over the phone, may be worth investigating?

littleducks · 17/03/2007 16:54

Prices on icandy cherry seem to be fixed, so might as well buy from my local shop, i'm seriously considering the top mark icandy lookalike listed in for sale here as its so much cheaper, seller has good feedback on ebay but im scared as i have never bought anything this expensive as a private sale before, also not sure of quality as its a german brand....hmmmm, decisions...

but yes i was shocked by the size and width of back wheels, phoned a friend who bought one when pregnant turns out she never used it and GAVE it away to buy a bugaboo (which she originally picked buzz over), such a shame i wasnt ariund when she gave it away!!! I could put up with wide for free, no prob!

FirstAtForty · 17/03/2007 18:22

Littleduck I just checked the width of the Cherry, on their website it says it's 58cm, which is only 2cm narrower than the Buzz why why why???

It's quite a lot lighter though, and the wheels are smaller.

misdee · 17/03/2007 18:24

littleducks, the lady selling the icandy lookalike is a good seller

littleducks · 17/03/2007 18:31

First at forty- when you hold the two together it appears much smaller (i think the wheels are alot less bulky) but i'm biased now, i fell in love! It is lighter than the apple also didnt feel much heavier than my techno....i'm going to take my dd with me tomorrow or mon to see what she thinks.

Thanks misdee, your opinion makes me feel a bit more confident, i know you spotted the ebay fraud on the stoke and are good on ebay

FirstAtForty · 17/03/2007 19:01

That's interesting, I haven't compared them 'in the flesh' as the Cherry hasn't come into our local shop yet. I guess the height of the actual wheels on the Buzz does contribute quite a lot to the bulkiness when manoevring it around.

nappyaddict · 18/03/2007 04:19

firstatforty - rear facing, air tyre, affordable you'd have to check the measurements to see if it was narrower than the buzz though.

littleducks · 18/03/2007 09:14

I was going to take the cherry lookalike on ebay but the weight may be 11kg not 7.5kg, but the sellar says it folds with the seat on!

So do i take the cherry confirmed at 7.5kg but wont fold with seat on....or the lookalike at poss 11kg?

Just when i had decided as well! I currently have a techno xt (7.8kg) will 11kg feel much heavier?

Rosa5 · 18/03/2007 09:23

Yes Ducks...If you have to do any steps of any kind. I went from a 12kg buggy ( with 7kgof baby) . To an 8 kg buggy and it was soooo much lighter. Had to put DD back in old one as had reversible handle and was really windy and I felt the difference. ( My reversible was an ebay bargain end of line so not listing it !). Am now looking for super lighter one for holidays / putting in car!
