hi
have revived this thread as I'm in exactly the same position - got a toddler, so past the stage of wanting complicated systems, and tired of having to stop every few steps to find out what he's saying to me. the thread was too old for any of the links posted to work, so just wondering if anyone has any ideas, or if any of the original people can chip in again? ideally would like an umbrella style that i can get on and off the bus, and perfect would be one that turns do be either front or rear facing.
thanx
mitsuko

yes they gave me an email address to a UK stockist, but i didn't get a reply

skerriesmum · 14/03/2007 00:28

www.zooper.com/global.html

I see from this you can get them in Dublin, perhaps you could order from there? Good luck! I just love how it comes with all the bits you'd need like raincover, cosytoes etc., has a great basket, good suspension, it's easy to push, and has snow tires!

KatyR · 14/03/2007 19:05

The icandy cherry must be more than the apple which I can't afford - thats my guess anyway, newer versions are always more I reckon.
I have temporarily solved my issues! I have been given an ancient Mothercare Olympus - its reversible! It weighs a ton and is as ugly as sin, but hey, it was free! Tried dd in it today and she is a bit slumped so will use the carrycot until she is sitting better I think. In the meantime I will save my money up and keep researching.

nappyaddict · 14/03/2007 19:21

there's a BN zooper on ebay at the moment going for £130. search zooper elite.

Ceolas · 14/03/2007 19:52

Aha, the iCandy cherry is to be £100 cheaper than the apple, so I'm led to believe.

KatyR · 14/03/2007 20:04

'The great thing about the i-candy Cherry , available from mid-March and costing £299 for the combo, is that it?s lighter and therefore more practical than its bigger cousins' (from www.sheerluxe.com/blog/bugaboo-fever.htm)
EEK! Too much for moi So sad, want one!!!

pramaholic · 15/03/2007 19:58

Katy what a great link - me too want 1!! I've just checked out local stockists and am goin to one of them tomorrow - will interrogate on when this perfect beast is available! BTW am I being unreasonable wanting a new buggy for a 14 month old...all suggestions gratefully received for when I present it to DH

KatyR · 15/03/2007 20:33

Oooooh tell us what you think of it if you get to see 'the beast'!!!! Tell your dh that it'll last til your child is 4, when they grow out of it in a while he won't remember you said it..... I'm sure someone else will have a better suggestion than that!

nappyaddict · 15/03/2007 22:03

you can use it for the next baby

JillyBaby · 16/03/2007 09:56

Don't think you'll see it in the shops quite yet - I contacted the company and they told me that it'll be out around the 27th.
A shop I went to told me that it's 'release' is timed to conincide with a trade show for Prams (in Harrogate I think).

JillyBaby · 16/03/2007 09:57

Maybe some of the 'pramaholics' on here are going to the show ????!!!!

nearlythere · 16/03/2007 10:29

yep some of us pramaholics have turned our obsessions into a business oportunity! The nursery fair is next weekend in harrogate but i'm afraid ladies it is trade only! Do not fear though i will return with some juicy pram gossip! Just quickly- news at the mo is cossatto need to be watched closely as they've come out with some good-uns inc a fab pramette thing and Jane have maybe come up with a virtually perfect solution- a slimmed down carrera chassis with a new reversible seat!! Watch this space

JillyBaby · 16/03/2007 12:10

Oh blimey nearlythere - you're complicating things for us with yet another tantalising possibilty! We had originally decided on a Jane Nomad before realising we wanted rear facing....

I can see our poor LO being born pushchair-less because we're still undecided, holding out for the 'perfect' pushchair.

nappyaddict · 16/03/2007 12:11

i was only thinking the other day i wish the jane was reversible!

Ceolas · 16/03/2007 12:12

I really fancied the Vigour 3 in the flesh. Wonder what the Jane will be like...

misdee · 16/03/2007 12:13

nearlythree, i want to go. ooooooo heaven.

nearlythere · 16/03/2007 14:19

he he!! i've nearly grown out of my obsession and have found silver cross but still enjoy searching for the ultimate pram for others! ah and to further confuse- new chicco CT buggy MAY!! also have a reversible seat unit- they are testing prototypes as we speak!

nearlythere · 16/03/2007 14:20

oh- just a note, vigour 3- C**P, the 4's ok but seat unit on both is very disapointing and when taken over our obstacle course the vig 3 always tips on the kerbs!

happy hunting!

pramaholic · 16/03/2007 14:58

Ok went into the shop and THERE IT WAS!!! The i-Candy cherry in the flesh....had been delivered 1/2 hour before - it's meant to be! They only had the beige coloured one, but are getting the black and red on Mon. Had to try DS in it he looked well happy!! It's very light both to lift and push, folded it first attempt - you have to take the seat unit out but still folds very small. I WANT ONE! Pushchair only is £210, carry cot 89.99; cosytoes 49.99; change bag 29.99. Comes with raincover. Now need to sell my Loola pdq....

JillyBaby · 16/03/2007 15:27

OK - I stand corrected.
Encouraging to hear that you liked it.
A couple of quick questions if you don't mind -

What kind of handle(s) does the carrycot have? (e.g. one soft handle each side, or one big handle that goes over the top)

Does it have solid wheels or inflatable ones?

Ceolas · 16/03/2007 15:56

nearlythere - what do you mean about the seat being disappointing?

What sort of obstacle course???

nearlythere · 16/03/2007 16:04

seat very deep- only suitable from 6 months (by britax's own advice!) very small and just looks a bit strange imo!

In my shop we have a pram obstacle course so that you can try them out on a variety of terrains- cobbles, sand, shopping mall, steps, kerbs, piles of mud etc- anyone in mid wales come and have a go- its sooooo much fun!

Ceolas · 16/03/2007 16:09

Wow, that sounds great! (the obstacle course). I was planning on getting the carrycot for the first 6 months. Trying to choose between the Quinny Buzz and this...

Mothercare lady says Buzz is overall heavier - lifting and pushing. Not sure you can get a proper feel until you're doing it on a regular basis.

nearlythere · 16/03/2007 16:16

ah well if its the choice between the buzz and anything, go for anything! I hate the buzz, i know some people love it but i tried all of the quinnys and both the zapp and buzz are sitting in my garage getting mouldy! I couldn't even sell them on knowing how awful i found them both!

The vigour range is good if you are going for the lot ie the chassis, seat, car seat and carrycot, but i have to say the vig 4 is better imo than the 3

(although the infinity beats both hands down!!!)

Ceolas · 16/03/2007 16:42

Can I use a car seat with the infinity?
