hi
have revived this thread as I'm in exactly the same position - got a toddler, so past the stage of wanting complicated systems, and tired of having to stop every few steps to find out what he's saying to me. the thread was too old for any of the links posted to work, so just wondering if anyone has any ideas, or if any of the original people can chip in again? ideally would like an umbrella style that i can get on and off the bus, and perfect would be one that turns do be either front or rear facing.
thanx

I have bought the icandy cherry bec i too wanted a rear and front facing pram. Very light and compact. DS was near the top of the carry cot so did not buy that- he is four months and over 68cm so much better buy than my 3D which he grew out of at 2months.

LadyClaret · 18/03/2007 13:49

Should add the pram box easily fitted into the back of an honda Jazz- does come apart into two pieces (chassis and seat unit). Also it fits maxi cosi seats onto the frame

FirstAtForty · 18/03/2007 16:33

Just measured the Buzz frame, folded down, with wheels still attached, I make it 66cm wide (rear wheel base width) x 30cm (wheel height) x 90ish length (front wheel to back wheel). - so 90x30x66

The website says: "Even with the wheels attached, the Buzz is compact enough to fit into virtually any boot (80x20x60cm)."

And presumably they mean with the seat unit attached as well, which can only add to the bulk. So unless there is some way of folding it that I haven't discovered yet, the folded measurements don't seem to match?

Ceolas · 18/03/2007 16:44

Do you think the Bugaboo really is the bottom line then?

misdee · 18/03/2007 16:46

i have tried a lot of buggies, and apart from the fact the bugaboo doesnt fold with the seat on and th4e seat is a touch on the small side (dd3 has a long body), it really is the best. its easy to steer one handed, easy to change seat positions, very snug, and even with dd3 long body should last her till she is 3 or there abouts.

nappyaddict · 18/03/2007 17:46

maybe they mean without the seat on? by the way with the buzz does it fold down the seat on rear facing? some only do it forward facing.

littleducks · 18/03/2007 17:53

I was told the buzz only folded seat off today, mind you twas mothercare

misdee · 18/03/2007 17:54

buzz only folds with the on forweard facing. but they recommend taking the seat off completely.

nappyaddict · 18/03/2007 18:15

oooh no that's what i hate about our mutsy.

littleducks · 18/03/2007 18:34

has anyone actually owned a hauk infinity? I had discounted it as too heavy but it is ccheaper with accessories here

indiajane · 18/03/2007 18:37

I have a bugaboo - hate it. Think it's stupid that the seat doesn't fold down while attached. Almost impossible to put in boot of car without getting filthy myself.

sarahlou1uk · 18/03/2007 18:39

Not read the whole thread, but I am an Infinity user. At the moment, mainly use it to attach the Graco car seat to but my dd nearly grown out of this. Lovely and light to stear and when the seat unit is on, dd likes looking at me. However, you can only fold the pram up with the seat attached in the forward facing mode. I usually keep it in two parts in the car but then, I do have an estate! Easy to get in and out of lifts as you don't have to manuovere the whole pushchair around. However, back wheels are wide so you have to take extra care when going in and out of narrow doorways (or squeezing past people in supermarkets!)

sarahlou1uk · 18/03/2007 18:40

One more thing I forgot - the original Hauck footmuff for the Infinity is naff. The holes for the lap belt are too close together which makes the belt far too tight for any baby with a waist measurement of more than 10cm!!! I bought a buggy snuggle one for mine which is great.

FirstAtForty · 18/03/2007 22:07

nappyaddict - sorry forgot to say my measurements were for the frame only, folded, without seat on.

nappyaddict · 18/03/2007 22:15

only thing i can think of is that they did it without the wheels on then. bit misleading though

nearlythere · 19/03/2007 10:57

i've just had the new i-candy trade book!!!!!!

he he he he he
can't tell you whats in it!

but there is another new one as well, named after another fruit- looks fab!

ooh the suspense is gonna kill you isn't it! It will be public info as of next tuesday so don't burst until then!

nappyaddict · 19/03/2007 11:12

is it a ..... pear?

littleducks · 19/03/2007 13:16

peach?

oh go on tell us, or at least say when it will be released so i can decide whether or not to buy a cherry

nearlythere · 19/03/2007 13:22

everyone knows about the pear don't they- due to be released in august for anyone who isn't aware- makes the apple into a tandem, a la mutsy etc!

new addition won't be for public ownership until sept this year so go for the cherry!

HE He HeHe

Rosa5 · 19/03/2007 14:06

PegPerego make an 'uno' which is either front or rear facing. its M&P in the Ukbut they seem to offer a few different things to Peg. \link( www.pegperego.com)
If the link doesn't work sorry but seem to be a bit useless at them !

littleducks · 19/03/2007 16:10

pear sounds horrible! not the best fruit to name it after, but am sure will be a nice pram. Now i can relax and buy a cherry, in liquorice now doesnt that sound rediculous!!!

FirstAtForty · 19/03/2007 17:06

oooh, is it a banana??? Follow on from the pear maybe with three (or more?) kiddies sat astride it one behind the other???

dcb · 19/03/2007 19:47

came across this thread whilst looking for info about buying a lightweight pram for holidays/weekends away. i have the M&P venezia and love it. ithas 3 positions and lies completely flat - the best thing though is that you can change directions so easily, which is great as dd (8 mths) hates the sun in her eyes (well it was a "problem" last week...). i love being able to face her as she likes being sung to on our walks. it is 10 kg so isn't too bad but does take up a fair bit of room in the boot, hence looking for a smaller one for going away. would love a lightweight pram that you could change directions with. however as there doesn't seem to be does anyone have any other suggestions? would also love a 3 wheeler as we live near coast/moors but think 3 prams would be pushing it a bit......

nappyaddict · 20/03/2007 12:38

wow i'm a good guesser aren't i knowing it was a pear!! is it really? i was thinking through the fruits and i was thinking of fruit flavoured sweets cos its called the candy and thought oooh yes cherry... cherry drop this one must be pear from pear drops!

littleducks · 20/03/2007 13:49

I bought it! Im now the proud owner of an iCandy cherry, will report back on all the good aspects and any glitches!
