hi
have revived this thread as I'm in exactly the same position - got a toddler, so past the stage of wanting complicated systems, and tired of having to stop every few steps to find out what he's saying to me. the thread was too old for any of the links posted to work, so just wondering if anyone has any ideas, or if any of the original people can chip in again? ideally would like an umbrella style that i can get on and off the bus, and perfect would be one that turns do be either front or rear facing.
thanx

Hi there. have just joined mumsnet and feel so relieved that others share my obssession with finding the perfect pushchair. I have been teased by dh, friends and family over this, as have gone through so many types trying to find one that ticks all the boxes for me. My dh says I am a "pramaholic" and need help. Have just bought a i'coo off ebay and although it is fab for walks, shopping , school run etc it weighs 15kg so is no good to lift into the car, so need another one too!
I also think that the seat needs to be rear facing. My ds had a m and p rearfacing seat that I loved but he grew out of it too quickly so am looking for one that will last my ds a bit longer.

i just wish i could find a rear facing, air tyres, one handle instead of 2 that folded up quite small. i can either get all of the above that is a monstrosity when folded or all of the above without air wheels.

busy2busy · 17/02/2007 00:17

Oddly German, Dutch and French pushchairs have lots of options for rear facing.

Cheap rear facing makes Hauck, or try rotalis.biz, (try tech rider pushchair on rotalis site). Need to click on the images to see the rear facing options

Maybe Europeans talk to their babies more.

issyissyissy · 17/02/2007 09:22

Nappy addict- that is just what i am looking for too! Perhaps we could all design one ...

nappyaddict · 17/02/2007 13:50

i don't get it... we are all looking for the same thing why doesn't someone just make it!

issyissyissy · 17/02/2007 18:16

What we need to do is get in contact with the manufacturers and explain what we need then perhaps they will listen. But probably by the time it has been made none of us will need one anymore!

i need to get a lightweight stroller to take on hols

was going to take the bugaboo but don;t want it to get wrecked as would like to sell at some point and also cos my mother reckons it wont fit in the car with all the cases in
have a zapp but dd wonlt sleep in it and that would destroythe holiday

was thknking of getting a citi sport (graco) and would use it on the bus also when at home but can't find anywhere that sells one and it would seem that mothercare have stopped doing their version of it ...help

nappyaddict · 22/02/2007 03:51

just found out the quinny fashion is fixed wheel so my new favourite is the zooper boogie.

nappyaddict · 22/02/2007 04:42

there is also a slightly more deluxe version called the zooper zydeco.

and have just found an american one called the valco rebel.

Still waiting to see iCandy Cherry which is due in the shops at the end of the month. However, FWIW looked at the M&P Ultima 3 in 1 (with MPX chassis) last night and this looks like a pretty good rear facing pushchair to me.

Biggest downside is probably that although fairly light, it's quite big when folded (folds flat, not umbrella fold).

Has anybody got any experience with one?

nikki81 · 07/03/2007 19:40

Hi. Why is it rear facing buggies are so hard to come across? I now have a Buzz after many! and so far so good, although do have a M&P pliko for the car. I was after an older style Bebe Confort pushchair but they have been discountinued. Does anyone know of a buggy that is an older style but it was umberella fold, very basic ,2 handles and the seat could face you and away? I cant seem to find these anywhere (probably about 10 yrs old!)

lori21 · 07/03/2007 19:55

I've got the m&P 3 in 1 and love it. Unfortunately it is not an umbrella fold but I got it because it is rear facing. It is rather large to store because it splits into two so does take up a lot of room in my large boot or goes straight into the garage. It is great for walking on streets but not so good for anything more 'off road'. You have to decide what your priorities are. I've now bought an urban detour for wheeling onto the beach, into the woods, etc but really miss the face to face contact so will only use it for occasional use.

When I bought the m&p there were so few rear facing pushchairs on the market but there seems so many more now just very few umbrella folds. I just hope they bring one out by the time my lo is a toddler

accessorizewithbabysick · 07/03/2007 22:04

tinkerbellie, you can pick up a citisport on ebay, I bought one on there quite easily (and it's a great little buggy). There are several on there at the moment (some new).

lori21 · 08/03/2007 08:58

oh yeah the M&p 3 in 1 has a great sized shopping basket, is a doddle to fold and brilliant for when they are tiny - can use it for naps, bed time, etc and now he is sitting up has a lovely flat base so he can sit up without straining against the 'tilt' that other pushchairs have.

JillyBaby · 08/03/2007 12:47

Thanks lori21.

nappyaddict · 12/03/2007 16:49

i've heard that M&P don't have very good customer service. there is a shop near us that sells all the M&P stock but they knock at least 10% off the RRP. you can buy most of their items online, and if its not on their website if you ring them they will deliver nationally. kiddisave

KatyR · 13/03/2007 21:56

I am so confused! (Lack of sleep I reckon, or thats my excuse anyway). My requirements are rear facing, folds up small (would a fold flat one stand in a narrow hallway without causing damage to limbs if you walk past it like my current pushchair - current one also takes up the whole of my car boot), lightweight, reclines to flat, can spend about £200 - what fits all these? I have about 10 web pages open with suggestions from above on, and am thoroughly bewildered,
please someone advise me!

Ceolas · 13/03/2007 22:01

What are you considering, Katy?

Tis a minefield!

KatyR · 13/03/2007 22:44

I am lost with ideas! The icandy cherry seems perfect but way out of my price range, so wondering what to sacrifice...
...hauck infinity seems good, but a little heavy and don't know how small it folds up
...Britax Vigour 4 but doesn't lie flat and isn't that small folded
...mutsy looks lovely but very expensive i think? not sure, theres a few on ebay...
...and now my brain has melted, can't remember what others were mentioned?!

Ceolas · 13/03/2007 22:46

Is it for a newborn? How much is the cherry?

nappyaddict · 14/03/2007 00:16

i have decided on a zooper boogie. they are fantastic. not overly heavy either.

skerriesmum · 14/03/2007 00:22

I love my boogie it's fab!

nappyaddict · 14/03/2007 00:24

there's the high trek and this too but i prefer the zooper.

nappyaddict · 14/03/2007 00:24

skerriesmum where did you get it cos i can't find a uk stockist anywhere!

skerriesmum · 14/03/2007 00:26

Oh, I live in Canada...! And actually they're not exporting here anymore so I got it in a sale (though it still wasn't cheap.) The company is Australian, have you looked at their homepage?
