hi
have revived this thread as I'm in exactly the same position - got a toddler, so past the stage of wanting complicated systems, and tired of having to stop every few steps to find out what he's saying to me. the thread was too old for any of the links posted to work, so just wondering if anyone has any ideas, or if any of the original people can chip in again? ideally would like an umbrella style that i can get on and off the bus, and perfect would be one that turns do be either front or rear facing.
thanx

oooh littleducks ME TOO! Picked it up today, it's sooo clean and yummy looking! Managed to put it together in less than 10 minutes (this really is my last buy, I'm getting too good!) Steers like a dream and so light. DS laughed when I put him in it, we're off for a long walk tomorrow so will report back on handling etc
BTW DH oblivious to new purchase as yet....anyone need a Loola?
Cheers P

KatyR · 20/03/2007 20:03

Yes I want a Loola!! Was just coming on here ask - do people think the main disadvantages of it are the heaviness and the fact it does fold with the seat on?

Nbg · 20/03/2007 20:06

littleducks, I have the Hauck Infinity and its fab.
Love it love it love it
Ds is soooo comfy in it and he actually naps in it now.

pramaholic · 20/03/2007 21:22

Katy I've had mine for about 8 months ( a record!) but only used it maximum once a week as tend to drive more and use umbrella fold 'Pop'.
However whenever I'm walking around locally I use the Loola and I love it - yes it's a bit heavy, but there are much heavier ones and it folds up really small in relation to it's size, you can fold it with seat facing either way. all my friends love it too!
I've gone for the 'Cherry' cos I want to see DS when we're out at shops etc and I got tired of lugging the Loola in the car. HTH, if ur interested let me know, otherwise it's going on ebay!

KatyR · 20/03/2007 21:34

Hmm I do want it, but where do you live and how much do you want for it? (Sorry don't know how to send you a message...)

pramaholic · 21/03/2007 08:21

Hi Katy,
I'm near Swindon, would like £ 150 and that would include the car seat if u needed that?
Cheers

OOh a good price but would have to get it posted / couried and really would be in trouble with dh... Thanks for offer though and hope you sell it, I'm sure you will.

littleducks · 22/03/2007 07:40

well its snowing here so i havent been pram testing but i must say that I am so disapointed with the raincover for my cherry, it has holes in! I assume its for ventilation, but they are just holes punched out in a circle, Im sure the rain will go through, hoping that a bugaboo or similar raincover will fit.

FirstAtForty · 23/03/2007 11:10

How odd, I suppose ventilation is important but silly to have holes on a top surface. Mothercare do standard raincovers I think. How is it otherwise?

pramaholic · 23/03/2007 19:44

I Candy Cherry update....took it for a 3 mile stroll on Weds. Haven't put the raincover on yet, have looked at the holes and where they sit, there's actually plastic underneath IYSWIM. Anyway, IT'S FAB!! Light, push and steer with 1 finger if needed (not sure why would need too tho..) fitted with ease thru a Sainsburys checkout, and DS fell asleep in it - bliss. Basket underneath massive. Brakes good, only blip was stiffness of harness fasteners but this is gonna be used soo much they'll loosen up in no time . Also had a momentary 'Is it pink or red' moment which I have now got over. If this had been around a year ago I would've saved myself a lot of money! If u can - get one!

littleducks · 24/03/2007 09:26

Will try the raincover again, which way round is it? I have had it two ways, first def wrong but i thought second was right, but no plastic under the holes, my maclaren raincover was better.

But it is lovely to push, took it out yesterday, very soft and warm with cosy toes. Seat doesnt fold up as slimline though.I found buckles very stiff but agree they will loosen with use.
DD has taken to it.

AudJ29 · 24/03/2007 12:33

also thinking about the icandy cherry for all of the same reasons previously discussed. Can anyone tell me what the wheel base is? Any problems getting into shops as with the Buzz? What sort of age do you think it will go up to? And........can LO sit upright in the rear facing position? I understand this was a problem with the Buzz where upright wasn't upright enough.

nearlythere · 24/03/2007 12:39

ok ladies, gonna start a new thread now- i'm off to the harrogate nursery show tomorrow for 3 days of pram heaven! What i want to know is what things you lot want gossip on- eg the new i-candy pear/ new bugaboos etc. Anything basically that you pramaholics or people who are looking for a new pram want to know before you buy!

FirstAtForty · 24/03/2007 13:31

just noticed this one in the Product Reviews here

bebeconfort air trophy

product review

It does say the wheel base is 63cm wide though so too wide for me, just thought it was interesting as I don't think we've had much discussion of it so far (unless I've missed it).

Glad the Cherry is working out for you littleducks and pramaholic !

littleducks · 24/03/2007 17:29

I was in mothercare today and so was a lady with a buzz, i could take my cherry down aisles she couldnt use but it was less nippy than my old techno, pushes smoothly even though the are solid wheels.

I tried on a buzz raincover and its definately an improvement on the icandy one, fits more snuglt, better quality plastic and best of all no holes. But its £20, so im going to take my cherry back and ask to be shown how the raincover fits to check i am doing it right, I also need the shopping bag repaired as a tie has broken, not sure if it came like that or my dh shoved something in as hard as he could (he is protesting his innocence).

Kentyville · 08/04/2007 18:18

How's it going with your Cherry Littleducks? We went to a shop yesterday that's listed as a stockist and they said they're not going to have it until May when the black and red comes out. I was most perturbed - just wanted to have a quick go and had schleped over there with big bump!

JillyBaby · 10/04/2007 10:25

Hi,
Thanks to everybody for their help on this thread. We finally saw the Cherry at the weekend and decided it looked very good and we bought it (Pushchair, carrycot and footmuff in red and black).
As first baby is still 2 months away, I can't give you a road test report. However, it is light, folds reasonably small and assembles very easily.

Kentyville - I phoned a couple of different shops and one said they won't have any in until next month, the other had a few in stock (in both colours), so not everybody has them, but they are out there in both colours.

Kentyville · 10/04/2007 16:12

Hi JillyBaby

We finally saw one yesterday too and think will buy it. It seems to tick all the boxes and is so much cheaper than a bugaboo. I worked out you could buy a Cherry and a McLaren Techno for later all for the price of a Gecko.

One thing - is it true you the baby should be 6 months before going in the buggy bit?

good luck with the baby - I'm just over two months away too. Suddenly feels very very soon!

JillyBaby · 11/04/2007 08:54

I've certainly heard the same thing about 6 months for the buggy part. I imagine it's because it's not flat enough and hence bad for the baby's back. If the baby outgrows the carrycot a little before that, you could perhaps use a blanket or something to flatten it out a bit.

Good Luck to you too. 8 weeks doesn't seem like very long for sure - NCT classes starting this Saturday.

littleducks · 16/04/2007 10:29

Its going pretty well, i would put my neck on the line and suggest you could use the seat unit earlier than 6 months, i think it should be from whenever the baby is sitting upright not age IYSWIM, i didnt even look at the carry cot though.

I have blk and red so your shop is talking rubbish about may!

The raincover is rubbish imho but on all other accounts lovely buggy. My dd sits nicely in it, not slouched and she will sleep with laid flat (but she is nearly one, i wouldnt recommend this for little babies due to feet sticking in air, similar to carseat position). Everyone who has had a push likes it.
