I don't know. My DD has her interview beginning of the next week, her friend - end of the next week. I don't think there will be any decision (DA/VAD) until all interviews are done.

Britobsession · 09/03/2026 20:32

IT depends on the strands auditions have been going from December till April for ks4 and post 16 I imagine at least a few hundred for each strand and not that many places think for ks4 they take 25 each strand and 50 for musical theatre but I could be wrong a bit more for post 16 still extremely difficult to get in too when there are a lot of talented children applying

Britobsession · 09/03/2026 20:35

So even getting a invite to audition is fantastic as they have a thousand odd applicants who apply and not everyone gets a audition but fingers crossed I’m patiently waiting on the result my dd has a offer for the London college of performing arts but obviously would want the Brit school

My daughter did an interview and workshop for FMP around 2 - 3 weeks ago now for KS4. Just wondering how many people roughly auditioned to calculate the odds. She did very well in the workshop and the interview went okay. Her portfolio and written application also went very well. We are also in catchment. I really want this for her. Has anyone heard back yet?

My son's workshop was 9.30am the 25th for FMP - he thought there were about 25 people in his workshop. Was that the one your daughter was on or was it another date? I wonder how many sessions they were doing in total. They're back at school today after the break so I'm hoping we're put out of our misery this week or next!

My daughter was in this one, she had friends from the Saturday class who had it the day after and also the Friday so that’s at least three sessions

Ouch - so the best odds is one in 3, potentially less... Your daughter does Brit kids does she? Were there a lot applying from there as I imagine they'd have much stronger portfolios 😬

yeah she does, she didn’t use anything from Brit kids for her portfolio, she said most the class had applied, hopefully we will find out soon. She really wants it, however she is currently in a good grammar school and doing super well with her grades and is very academic but this is her passion

Brit378 · 16/03/2026 15:30

My daughter was in the same workshop! Her interview was at 11 and workshop 9:30 on the 25th. Apparently there were around 3 workshops and the same number of kids in each. I just called up the school and they said that due to the half term the process has been slow but we should hear back this week - next week latest!

My DD has just had her interview for DA, they gave all DC just 15 minutes to talk and answer questions. She was told her reference was still not ptovided (urhhhh) from her current school and they can't process the application without it. We both will chase the HofY tomorrow, as she was asked to provide reference back in January!!! Also she was told the decision will be made in 3-4 weeks(!!!!)

You must get that reference! It's the 3rd week now and the school is probably closing on decisions.

Still waiting post 16 theatre strand has anyone had an offer yet???? Received a email the wait is killing me lol

Krystel2407 · 19/03/2026 10:23

Has anyone heard back from workshop auditions yet the wait is beyond nerve racking

mgsuk · 19/03/2026 10:39

I have a feeling we won't hear anything until next week. From what I have seen on previous years (except last year when they heard three weeks after the workshops for MT) they will usually take the 4 weeks and even a bit longer to get back with a decision. They have two weeks half term after the auditions and so this week is their first week back. They told my daughter on her workshop (25.02 - KS4 MT) that they will have news in two weeks, but we are already in week 3 and no news so I'm just going with what their admissions booklet says :) We know other kids applying for Music, Dance and Graphic Design and they haven't hear either so I guess we sit tight a wait. I think my daughter at this point just wants to know so she can move on, which I totally get.

OneCoralReader · 19/03/2026 11:34

I spoke to them on the phone yesterday and they said that the places will be told to everyone next week, 4 weeks from the original workshop, before Easter :)
