First choice here.

Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear.

That’s two kids in two consecutive years through this gruelling process.

DS is only in Y2 so have a bit of a well needed breather before it all starts again.

Now just to figure out how to manage three kids in three different schools Shock

Magnificentkitteh · 02/03/2026 07:47

Glad to see there's good news to kick off the day. Congratulations slaybell. Can your older ones manage under their own steam?

troppibambini6 · 02/03/2026 08:23

@slaybellgreat news!

Good news here too. Also have done two consecutive years and that’s it I’m officially done with this awful process.
I’ve done it 4 times with thankfully 4 passes and everyone allocated the schools they wanted.
It’s still a totally crap system though.

CheerfulMuddler · 02/03/2026 08:31

We got confirmation too. We already knew DS had a place but nice to know I didn't screw up the application process.
Email says we need to confirm by midday on Wednesday. I guess they have a lot of anxious parents in group B.

teachermum26 · 02/03/2026 09:01

We got our first choice, Stretford Grammar! Thank you so much to everyone who supported and reassured me along the way while I was going through this process for the first time.

Wishing all the kids a bright and happy future ❤️

Eldest’s school is a 5 minute walk away so she’s absolutely fine. DD2 will have to get a bus very early in the morning as it’s a fair way away but there are a number of kids from our area who will get it (one catholic grammar that serves the whole council area) including some of her friends from primary, who hoping she will be ok and adapt.

Pipsquiggle · 02/03/2026 15:18

First choice here - thank goodness.
We were right on the edge of the distance allocation though.
Some of my DC's friends are very disappointed this morning

Great news - it's a fab school. They do a brilliant job with the year 7s getting them settled in.

trying29 · 02/03/2026 17:10

We just heard my son got into Wallington which was his first choice. Congratulations to everyone - the kids worked so hard

Magnificentkitteh · 02/03/2026 17:14

DD got into Henrietta Barnett which was her first choice. Thanks for all the support and well done everybody.

Tiredlady1 · 02/03/2026 22:45

First choic for us too. Glad to see so many first choices being granted in many of the group's OGs. How will you be preparing them for highschool ?

TeamGeriatric · 03/03/2026 07:27

We got the grammar, which was our first to choice. We are out of official catchment, but typically the offers stretch to where we live, which proved true again this year.

Purpletoes · 03/03/2026 11:53

We didnt get our grammar option hopefully will get it in the waiting list. We did get our 2nd choice which is a local girls comp that does have a grammar stream and is highly regarded if we dont get 1st choice

ADF · 03/03/2026 16:09

Congratulations @trying29my son is preparing for the Sutton Grammars, really interested to know which resources did you find to be the most effective/ similar to the actual exams since there's no past papers available. Thank you

My number one tip is to do the school pta practise test. Nothing prepares them better than that practise exam situation: in addition examberry and exam paper plus:

ADF · 03/03/2026 16:16

Thank you @trying29

SFV · 04/03/2026 12:51

We got St Michael's - which we knew she would with her ranking, but like someone else said, it was nice to get the official offer and knowing i didn't mess up the application!

Poonu · 23/03/2026 17:01

Bucks schools - did everyone get their wait list?

Are you on a wait list @Poonu ?

Poonu · 24/03/2026 12:55

Yes on waitlist however we got offered an excellent school I've arranged to transport so I cannot say that it's second best. I believe the first one would be a better fit for several reasons so will stay on the list.

@Tea4216 Eh? If you got a place on national offer day from the grammar school - that is the confirmation.
TBH it's a bit weird that you haven't told people. I am assuming your DD knows? If so, don't you think she would have told some of her friends?

Hope everyone is OK. Its 2nd allocations day here so anxiously waiting on email to see if dd gets a place if not will be able to finally email school to find out where she is on waiting list.

Purpletoes · 24/04/2026 08:10

We didn't get a space. Have emailed the school and am now waiting to see where we are on waiting list. Stressful times ahead
