We weren't waiting - we were knocked out at the first stage for Latymer :) But we got our first choice (St Michael's), so this journey is officially over for us! Well done to your DD though, it's great to have options :) Do you know your order of preference now for the local authority form?

Brilliant news. I guess this thread will go pretty quiet now until march but thank you everyone for all the support.

Can someone please advise me when we are supposed to upload our address evidence? I’m completing the CAF but it’s not asking me to upload any address details. I have all documents ready but not sure where to upload. Did you all upload the address yet?

Magnificentkitteh · 28/10/2025 22:00

In our CAF it requests the proof of address after you submit it, which could really catch you out

Thank you but I’ve submitted it already and it didn’t ask for any proof. We live in border of Essex and Redbridge. We were told to apply via Essex council

NookAndCrannying · 28/10/2025 22:49

I didn’t have to submit proof of address for our CAF (Islington) just our council tax number, but think others in the area did have to - as far as I could work out, it was because either they had co-parents at different addresses or had moved house in last few years?
Happy to be corrected if anyone knows more.
Good luck all.

Tea4216 · 28/10/2025 23:06

I haven’t been asked on the CAF to provide any details regarding council tax number or proof of address

NookAndCrannying · 28/10/2025 23:09

Actually, I just checked the form again and it says you may upload proof of address for the child (which I took to mean you don’t have to) but I did it just in case, because after all we’ve been through, I couldn’t bear it if a silly little admin error means I screw it all up!

I’ve just looked at caf form again and there is no option for me to upload anything

perhaps it’s different per borough?
Mine had an upload link, and expressedly said you can upload after submission (but before 31st Oct deadline)

SFV · 29/10/2025 08:03

My CAF form already had my council tax number on it - i presume from promary applications. After submission I got a confirmation email which said I had to upload 1 proof of address if my council tax number was already there or 2 documents from a list they gave. It wasn't part of the CAF form itself, it had to done after. I'd call and check if you have any doubts.

CheerfulMuddler · 29/10/2025 08:19

I wasn't asked about proof of address anywhere. I think for primary we had to show proof to the school, so not until we'd been allocated a place.

DolphinOnASkateboard · 29/10/2025 09:11

Bucks says if you're a Bucks resident you just need your council tax number. Don't know when in the process they ask for that as we still haven't done the CAF yet due to DH and I disagreeing about which fallback option to go for.

Tea4216 · 29/10/2025 10:50

Gosh how stressful! I’ve just spent the morning calling them and they said they require no proof of addresses at this moment but will contact me if they do. I find this all so stressful. Hope everyone else is okay

FYI the qualifiers by location has been updated for Bucks. I haven't had time to look in detail but I can't see any huge swings from last year

People who are going through the Bucks selection review - was there a deadline to submit it and did you have to talk to the head teacher beforehand? Asking for a friend. Thanks

OP posts:
DolphinOnASkateboard · 04/11/2025 13:51

Deadline was 31 October if you received your result on the same date as most people, I think you can go later if your kid sat the test late for whatever reason. And yes, you had to talk to the head (or at least tell them you're doing it) as they need to provide their own report.

TeamGeriatric · 04/11/2025 17:50

Reading this thread today, I'm having a belated panic about not submitting a proof of address, but surely I couldn't have missed that. I feel like I submitted directly to the school when my daughter moved up to secondary, but my memory is foggy.

Magnificentkitteh · 04/11/2025 17:53

I think the forms seem to vary depending on your home council. Ours asked for proof of address after you have submitted the form, but I think others reported they just reserve the right to request it. I'm in London where there's quite a lot of address fraud.
