Salary to consider private

Just wondering at what take home salary you would consider/be able to pay for a private school place?

We were hoping for a bursary but not been granted one - trying to figure out if we can afford full fees.

And apologies for derailing the thread but it’s such an important point.

Saying wealthy people are wealthy because they are genetically smarter is not just wrong, it’s dangerous.

The corollary is that the poor are poor because they are genetically less capable in which case there would be nothing that can or should be done.

That’s false. Research has shown this as gave decades of public policy that has closed the academic achievement gap between the rich and the poor. As a society it’s our responsibility to develop policies that counteract the negative impact poverty has on various life outcomes including the negative impact it has on IQ.

I managed £9k pa fees on £60k (primary school).
