Hope you are all bearing up ok. I'm feeling strangely detached about the remaining results tomorrow. It is almost as though I can't believe that all months of worry and uncertainty are (hopefully) coming to an end. Strange feeling. No doubt I will feel completely different tomorrow!
Best of luck all

Thank you @Running247

I'm Just coming back to this thread after a while and there's been a lot of news! Congratulations on all the offers and virtual hugs to those with wait list and nos. It is hard to have a no from the favourite option. Good luck with tomorrow's offers for everyone and for wait list wants in due time.

We are waiting for two, including our top choice tomorrow. My son is convinced that he has an offer and is very relaxed about it. Hopefully he is right and it will all be happy days! Fingers crossed.

If we have that offer, I think we will accept it quickly and once all the paperwork is signed, we would release the other offer. Though I guess if there is an offer holders morning the. We might wait until after that to be sure the school is right. If we don't them I'm not sure what we'll do! It's much trickier to make decisions if you have a wait list for your top school isn't it.

Though in 7months time they will be in year 7 and all this will be ancient history. At least until number 2!

I am alternating between nervous and detached (che será, será).
Which ones are you waiting on?

Do independent secondaries publish 'valued added' data anywhere?

LoveMyADHD · 09/02/2023 14:34

St Benedict’s posts out today … we got an offer 😍

good luck all xxx

Hang in there my love! I’m sure DD will smash it 😘

UntamedShrew · 09/02/2023 14:37

I’m so glad you said that, I feel exactly the same! I think the drip drip of information, plus the way this whole process has been so dragged out, has been too much to
keep up with. Our previous experience of 11+ was so different (pre-covid, all exams within ten days of each other and all 4 results/ offers received same day) compared to this six months of torment! Hopefully we will all get excited about their new schools again nearer the time.

@Taurus23 My DD was waitlisted for PHS but then got into WHS and Tiffin so please don't be despondent. Good luck to everyone waiting! We were in the same position as you with DS this time last year.

Taurus23 · 09/02/2023 15:05

@Sweetnhappy1 oooh, let’s hope that happens here!

LondonMum20222 · 09/02/2023 15:08

@Taurus23 Definitely don't give up hope of WHS. I've read so many times on here that PHS and WHS often throw up weird results (eg DDs getting one but not the other - it seems to be quite common) so it's definitely worth still keeping everything crossed!

Agree on PHS and WHS throwing different results, even prep HMs comment openly on it - not surprising if you think about their very different selection processes (plus the usual "on the day" factor).

@QuiteAJourney yes hoping for the best but our WHS second round was a car crash 😂

it’s all good, I’ve rallied and feeling positive about Surbiton.

Perhaps Tiffins may throw up a surprise result as DD has a 30th August Bday and hear they age standardise?? Or maybe clutching at straws!

Thank you for the kind words x

mootwo · 09/02/2023 15:33

@Sweetnhappy1 - that’s interesting! We just got waitlisted for LEH so I assumed that would mean Tiffin was a non-starter now so good to know there’s hope there still!

Well done for everything DD achieved !!!

i know you’re “grieving” through this (only us here can really understand)… your DD will smash it wherever she ends up 😍

Taurus23 · 09/02/2023 15:59

@LoveMyADHD ❤️❤️

NellyCortado · 09/02/2023 16:02

Just to add - completely agree about PHS and WHS results being very different, so absolutely do not give up hope. Multiple examples of this over the years. In DD's class (a few years back now), the girls with PHS offers didn't get through the WHS first round. And I don't know of anyone who had straight out offers for both.

Almost time for another thread!

Don't worry - @QuiteAJourney keeps a very close eye on it and waits til it almost maxes out, then starts a new one!

QuiteAJourney · 09/02/2023 16:55

@Lolakath19 some 55 messages to go...
I am keeping an eye on it and will open a continuation, with relevant links.
There was the "guessing game" as to whether this would be the one with the offers... it has been to some extent but I think that the next one is going to be the "mega" one!

@QuiteAJourney I know, I thought this one was going to be very quiet until end of the week and then explode wednesday to Saturday of this week but it has gone strong all week!
