Thank you RedDogBlueDog, my son was at the CFC offer day today too, he loved the school. Glad you liked it.

my husband took my son and they both came back very positive. We are just waiting for Ibstock Place now and then we can make a decision.

I’m finding the wait until Friday truly agonising. I keep trying to remind myself to have perspective on the process with so much that is going on in the world that is truly awful, but am still finding it tough.

Didsomeonesay · 08/02/2023 15:44

@swlondo we went to our waitlist school. Offer came late but we did get it and into one of the harder schools we applied to as well x x have faith x

Trickleg · 08/02/2023 15:54

@RedDogBlueDog we were at Claremont today too, and yes, my DS had a great time but was expecting a tour as well. Did feel a bit rushed, even though everyone was absolutely lovely. Gorgeous weather for it though.

VickiMent · 08/02/2023 16:06

We were at Claremont too @RedDogBlueDog. DS really enjoyed the activities and came home with some lovely art.

The lunch for parents was a nice touch. It was good to be able to ask questions. The staff were all super friendly.

Maybe they were together - my DS did science and art too!

Really interesting to see the comments on the first offer holders days.... would you say that they have confirmed or challenged your views?

A question to those with Epsom offers... I see there is no reference to an offer holders visit - presumably because of recent events (and, of course, completely understandable). We would love to visit the school again and really hope there will be an opportunity to do so at an appropriate time. I will drop a message to ask after half term. Are others thinking similar?

swgeek · 08/02/2023 16:57

@NellyCortado their website states the offer holders event takes place on Feb 23rd, I assume they are still planning to hold it unless you are notified otherwise.

NellyCortado · 08/02/2023 16:58

@swgeek thank you, I completely missed that!

MomFromSE · 08/02/2023 17:10

Congrats to all those with offers at Epsom!

@sugarcookie5 you could try Dulwich Prep London. They offer bursaries and lose plenty of boys at the 11 plus so typically have space.

Best of luck

KindergartenKop · 08/02/2023 17:12

@sugarcookie5 further out there's Homefield in Sutton and Shrewsbury something in Surbiton. They both go to 13 and are boys only.

SamPoodle123 · 08/02/2023 17:29

Just curious if anyone remembers the time for last year FHSS emails? Was it morning? Someone mentioned Godolphin was 10am. Emanuel in the afternoon?

sugarcookie5 · 08/02/2023 17:35

Thank you so much- so appreciated

sugarcookie5 · 08/02/2023 17:36

Thank you for this- Feltonfleet so lovely calling me shortly after getting my email- made such a difference talking to a person and seeing school Friday!!

sugarcookie5 · 08/02/2023 17:37

NellyCortado · 08/02/2023 14:14

@sugarcookie5 it is worth looking at Fulham Prep. They also have a senior school in case you wanted the option of staying on for Year 9 onwards. Good luck.

Thank you so much- spoke to them and they don’t do the B (bursary)

poppybuttons · 08/02/2023 14:17

If you are SW Feltonfleet in Cobham runs a bus service from Wimbledon/Putney. It has a boarding option too. It's use to taking dc into year 7.

Thank you so much!!!!!! Feltonfleet called me shortly after receiving my email - so lovely to speak to a person rather than just emails. They do the B and are registering people now- seeing school Friday! It sounds and looks fabulous

Newland House in Twickenham, if not too far out

Thank you!!

Ah thank you! Will email them most appreciated!!!!

poppybuttons · 08/02/2023 17:51

@sugarcookie5 , great news! I'm not a parent but it's meant to be a lovely school and very use to signing up Year 6's at this point for a Sept start in year 7.

Firenze12 · 08/02/2023 18:31

@sugarcookie5 can you go back to the senior schools you have offers with and see if they can adjust the bursary amount? Prep schools also a good option.

QuiteAJourney · 08/02/2023 18:36

Back to the wait on offers for 11+ and "Mega-Friday" - WHS has emailed confirming that they will be sending emails by midday on Friday and making clear that they would be happy speaking with those with an offer / rejection / on waiting list.
Hope others would do similarly.

I find this interesting, the feedback that would be given when candidates do not get an offer or WL after the interview. Would it be because marks were on the lower side of the pass rate most likely? Or during the interview they were nervous etc. Or something in the reference? I know it depends on the case. But I am just really curious on how the selection takes place when you make it to interview round. How much weight the school puts on marks versus interview and reference.
