Trinity/Whitgift/Dulwich College 10+/11+ 2021

Hello,

as mentioned countless times, I found the previous years' threads very useful, so it is now time to start this year's.

DS sat the 11+ reasoning test at DC yesterday. He'll sit the morning slot at trinity and we are awaiting confirmation of assessment date from Whitgift.

DS is remarkably relaxed so far. I, on the other hand, am a little apprehensive about the next few weeks.

How are everyone else's DSs feeling before "the storm"?

Not sure that’s true. 40% of offers outstanding means they have no idea as to whether they’ll need the waiting list or not so boys and girls possibly needless waiting in hope. if more reply then they have a better view if it’s needed and can cull the WL earlier. Very frustrating for the schools. But each to their own.

Good luck to everyone.

@Gladwhenitsover we are in similar position. W more preferred by DS but it’s also the furthest and E is practically on our doorstep.

Gladwhenitsover · 04/03/2022 07:07

@W1980 I get it’s frustrating, I really do. Unfortunately it took us two weeks to revisit the schools and the last one is only today.

A quick reply is helpful for the school’s admin but IME it doesn’t lead to the waiting list being culled earlier?

I remember dithering and getting hassled by someone on the waiting list. But it’s just not as simple as that.

Tricky time for all concerned

We have decided for DC. Left a piece of my heart at Trinity that both my husband and I really like but it's a 45 min journey on away and DC is a 15 minutes walk. Not an easy choice as we had scholarships at T and W and not at DC but now it's done and I feel much lighter!
I think the waiting list will open up only after the deadline.

Gladwhenitsover · 04/03/2022 17:55

We went for W in the end. It was the only school our son was truly excited about, even if it is the furthest. Pfew!

SCK2012 · 04/03/2022 21:16

We have gone with T 10+.Glad that is finally over.

W1980 · 04/03/2022 21:24

I have heard the WL at trinity 11+ has moved and offers made today. Any one else had any movement good news etc..

suchnonsense · 04/03/2022 22:39

We went for W as well - having made the decision feels like such a relief!

GiveMeFive · 06/03/2022 19:36

Congratulations to all your amazing boys. Its a wretched journey to get to where you are now but you made it!
My DS passed 10+ some years ago and we had the choice of Kings, Hampton, Trinity and Whitgift.
He had always wanted to go to Whitgift so that's where he is. Letting your child chose is important. Whitgift has been and continues to be amazing for him. Put in the effort and the opportunities are truly amazing.

Has there been much movement on the T and W 11+ waiting lists this year. Seems other schools not even going to waiting lists.

Yey22 · 08/03/2022 15:05

Not sure about T and W but I know plenty of schools that have moved to their Waiting lists

anxiouslywaiting12577 · 08/03/2022 15:23

Unfortunately not the school we were hoping for. Good luck everyone still waiting for news.

effemme · 18/03/2022 11:46

Anyone with children starting at DC that would like to meet before September please DM me

suchnonsense · 18/03/2022 13:29

@effemme what a great idea (which I'm now going to steal!).
We aren't DC but our son is joining W 11+ in Sept. Would be great to meet others before Sept, so please do DM me.

Hello all, lovely to see this thread again!

I just wanted to say anyone that has decided on Trinity it’s the best decision you’ll make! I have two boys at the school now. Youngest joined this year after getting offers from T and Hampton and Tiffin.
We couldn’t be happier with how he’s settled in. :)

Hello,

my son has been offered a place at Trinity and waitlisted in Dulwich College. He is leaning towards DC but don’t know how long we will have to wait..
we live near Paddington but intend to move before start of year. Which area would be best for Trinity? We don’t want to be too far from city ( office) so we’re thinking of Beckenham.. any other suggestions please? Thank you!!
