hmcAsWas · 23/05/2018 14:40

AQA is 1hr 45 Sos

Sostenueto · 23/05/2018 14:40

Dgds s hook 37 miles away no way she's leaving her phone at home!

Sostenueto · 23/05/2018 14:41

For goodness sake I meant school sorry for typos.

mmzz · 23/05/2018 14:41

Edexcel 1hr45 too. 2hr 12 with extra time.

Some of the comments should be starting on twitter around now.

goodbyestranger · 23/05/2018 14:41

AQA is 1hr 45.

Sostenueto · 23/05/2018 14:42

Thanks hmcFlowers

Sostenueto · 23/05/2018 14:43

I will get a phonecalls then very soon!

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 23/05/2018 14:43

boy in DD2s year left his phone in his blazer pocket during a Chemistry GCSE exam, for whatever reason they were particularly late starting (and so finishing) and his phone bleeped with a text from his mum asking how the exam had gone Shock.

As it was genuinely a mistake, the school supported him in the invigilators reporting, and allowed him onto the A level course (he had his whole Chemistry disallowed). But, he had to resit the GSCE along with the AS, AND he had the piss ripped out of him for the whole of his 6th form. No-one else for the next two years forgot about leaving their phones switched off Grin.

Sostenueto · 23/05/2018 14:43

Thanks allFlowers

mmzz · 23/05/2018 14:44

I tell DS to put his phone in his bag each morning, rather than risk taking it into the exam hall.

I'm guessing that half the time when a child's phone goes off in an exam, it is the parent calling to anxiously find out how it went (and thereby jeopardising their child's whole exam).

mmzz · 23/05/2018 14:46

and they're out...

AlexanderHamilton · 23/05/2018 14:50

I'm specifically not phoning or texting dd until after 4pm when academics have finished. Phones are not allowed in school at all but they turn a blind eye to day students if they are out of sight.

Sostenueto · 23/05/2018 14:53

Determine the radius of a magnesium atom.Hmm

Sostenueto · 23/05/2018 15:01

Actually seems physics was OK for quite a few main complaint was it was a bit mathy. Haven't heard from dgd yet.

ScoobyGangMember · 23/05/2018 15:06

Igcse physics is 2 hours.

TheSecondOfHerName · 23/05/2018 15:07

lightattheendofthetunnel I hope your DS's hard work pays off and he gets what he needs in Maths & English. I have an 18 year old who has a poor working memory and will be pleased if he gets C grades in his A-levels.

beenrumbled · 23/05/2018 15:24

DS has given a thumbs up for Business (multiple choice) and AQA physics triple today. Nothing came up that he wasnt expecting though he said a couple of the formula based questions were tricky. Maths tomorrow

RosieLig · 23/05/2018 15:37

Aqa trilogy here- not heard yet.

JugglingMummyof2 · 23/05/2018 15:40

AQA Triple Physics: I have received the following text.
Not too bad. I think. Truthfully, at some points I was like this 🤔 and at others like this 🤨 but for a lot I was like this 😃 and often felt like this 👩‍🔧👩‍🔬 but feeling a bit like this now 😴
I think that probably means it was a fair paper as this is DDs second lowest predicted grade.
Hope that reassures someone. It is torture waiting to hear.

AlexanderHamilton · 23/05/2018 15:49

Love the emoticons.

TheSecondOfHerName · 23/05/2018 15:56

Have seen something on Twitter about banana equivalent dosage as a measure of radiation exposure.

If that was in the triple science AQA paper, it will have made DS2's day!

He is a big fan of Festival of the Spoken Nerd, and last time he saw them live he particularly enjoyed the section about banana equivalent dosage. After the show he got his book signed and they wrote a personalised comment about it. 🍌

mmzz · 23/05/2018 15:58

DS found Edexcel Physics (triple) easy, apart from 2 questions worth 4 marks/ 100 that he couldn't do (and another one for which his answer may or may not be correct).

Can't tell you how relieved I am! Now he just needs to do something similar for paper 2, which means he has got a lot of work to do before June 15.

dogzdinner · 23/05/2018 15:58

DS has just done AQA Physics (triple) and said it was quite easy. VEry surprised as it's a subject he generally struggles with

cubscout · 23/05/2018 16:06

Ds very happy with AQA paper.
