Hope all DC feel happy after their papers today and ready to move on to the next! DD was buzzing after CIE English Poetry and Prose - couldn't have hoped for better questions, so hopefully she isn't deluding herself!
Macbeth on Friday for her, with pesky Sciences tomorrow.
She is performing tonight in the school drama/music show - usually only Y7-10 take part (plus Y12 and 13s who havent any/have loads of time before the next exam), but she is leaving the school at the end of the year and wants to do her 'last performance EVER!!!' there.
At least she'll be happy for Science in the morning - that works doesn't it??

HesMyLobster · 22/05/2018 10:48

That's right MMZ- a 1hour 45min exam so should be just about finishing now, depending on whether they stayed exactly on time.

I'm most nervous for this one so far. I think because it's the subject DD has struggled most with and most wants to prove herself in.
And because so much depends on which questions are asked!

HesMyLobster · 22/05/2018 10:49

*started not stayed

HesMyLobster · 22/05/2018 10:52

Good news for your DD Farangatang!
And good luck to her for the performance later.
DD was in a dance performance last night - not ideal timing but I think it did her good to immerse herself in something else for an hour or so.

Wonderwine · 22/05/2018 10:52

Oh yes, checking twitter after the exam has become a bit addictive hasn't it?

I'm quite surprised to hear that schools are running last minute revision sessions in the hours before exams? Doesn't that risk panicking some of them?
One things which IS good these days is that there is such a lot of sharing of materials/revision resources from teachers and pupils alike (e.g. Mr Bruff!) that even if a student has a bad teacher or has missed work, they can find some way of catching up via YouTube etc. Yesterday DS got a bit sidetracked watching Christopher Ecclestone (one of his fave actors) reading one of the English poems!

DoNotBringLulu · 22/05/2018 10:55

My ds's Eng Lit started at 8.45. He is concerned about this one. No revision on it last night he said he didn't feel motivated, but I think he will be OK. With his 25% extra time he will be a bit longer. Good luck for Geography paper 1 for all taking it this pm.

mmzz · 22/05/2018 10:56

oh dear, it doesn't sound like everyone is happy.

Thanks for Twitter link I am just chuckling at the "whoever put English And Geography on the same day your Mum's a h.."

Macbeth: supernatural / Banquo
Jekyll and Hyde; tension & mystery
Romeo and Juliet: parent-child relationships

Does DS know his stuff on this? I have no idea! Now wishing I'd asked him because I'm suddenly desperate to know if this is what he revised!

mmzz · 22/05/2018 11:02

I liked this one:
"who even is banquo?"

I hope so Lobster ! Performing tonight seems to be top priority - I award her a '9' for enthusiasm about not studying Science tonight!

HesMyLobster · 22/05/2018 11:03

Just had the customary "not too bad" text from DD2!
I need more deeeetaaaiiiilllls!!!!!

farangatang · 22/05/2018 11:03

Grin mmzz

Right best get off MN and off to the show....

HesMyLobster · 22/05/2018 11:07

Ooh DD was hoping for a Banquo question! That's a good start! Her second text was A Christmas Carol. I'm hoping she didn't do what this poor girl did:

Feedback on AQA English lit paper 1 Frankenstein theme was the monster. Romeo and Juliet differences in age in marriage. DVD fine with both themes now off to break so just got ' it was OK'.

Sostenueto · 22/05/2018 11:11

Will get more feedback later. You know, well I did my best, I don't want to talk about it, stupid paper etc etc.

DoNotBringLulu · 22/05/2018 11:11

Aah ... thanks Lobster. Banquo should be OK for him (I think)

LooseAtTheSeams · 22/05/2018 11:12

I like the tweet 'who even is Banquo'!
I know I have spent time going over Banquo and the supernatural with my tutees. The interesting bit will be if any of them were actually listening to me...

DoNotBringLulu · 22/05/2018 11:13

I dont get told much Sos either 'alright' or 'I might have passed'

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 22/05/2018 11:15

English "could have been worse...could have been better" according to DD, she did manage to reference the Worlds End pub though, so I think that gets me an English Lit GCSE, doesn't it?

Sostenueto · 22/05/2018 11:17

Omg mmzz dgd said romeo and Juliet was differences in age in marriage????? Has she got it wrong as you said parent and child relationships?

HesMyLobster · 22/05/2018 11:19

MyVisions totally - you get to write your name on that certificate when it arrives! Grin

Wonderwine · 22/05/2018 11:23

Looks like the EDUQAS English poem was Mametz Wood and the theme 'war' which would have suited DS Smile

However it seems like the character question was on Tybalt, which might have been tricky given he is a relatively minor character Hmm

Sostenueto · 22/05/2018 11:23

Phew its me who's got it wrong. Just texted to find out and got told to listen properly!

Theimpossiblegirl · 22/05/2018 11:24

How do I find out The Tempest question? Other than wait for dd to message me back.
