Anyone else suffering through this at mo?!

OP posts:
mindgone · 14/05/2012 19:54

Yes, definitely! Bit stressy all round here! Goes up and down though, DS quite pleasant at the mo, but of course don't know quite how long that will last! Think DH seems even more stressy though! Had a biology exam this morning and thinks it went ok after consulting tsr! Obviously the fountain of all knowledge Grin

MABS · 14/05/2012 20:05

Business studies today, good apparently! thats a worry Wink

Well done, sounds good, even though you dont know whether to be pleased or worry when they say it went well! I guess at this stage they sould know (hopefully!). Which other subjects is your DC doing? Mine has got chemistry, maths and economics as well as biology. His school doesn't do jan modules, so he's got a pretty full two weeks, but then two weeks of nothing, so that will be good for him. :)

mumblechum1 · 14/05/2012 21:45

DS did biology this morning as well and seemed relatively positive, too.

He's stopped revising now, after a solid month, on the basis that if he doesn't know it by now there's no point fretting Grin He has a couple tomorrow, can't remember what.

schoolchauffeur · 14/05/2012 21:51

Mine has got Chemistry tomorrow and maths on wednesday and friday- and is stressed big time! Has found the jump from Standard grade to Int 2 ( with straight As) to A levels hard going and is beating her self up about the fact she is predicted ABC in her subjects. No amount of me telling her that if necessary she can re-sit some modules in Jan or that she doesnt need all As for what she wants to do after school, is helping! But no doubt she will bounce back in 2 weeks when it is all over.

Good luck to everyones DCs this week!

mumblechum1 · 14/05/2012 21:53

I do worry about exam stress for my ds.

He is currently watching reruns of the Big Bang theory in his room with his mate, a six pack and half a roast chicken.

Probably time to kick the mate out now and tell him to stop stressing so much about his exams Grin

Jins · 14/05/2012 21:54

We're in the thick of it here. Biology today then chemistry and environmental science tomorrow. DS very relaxed so I'm trying to be the same. He's worked very hard this year and I'm proud of him

Good luck to them all!!

mindgone · 15/05/2012 11:52

Schoolchauffeur, sounds like ours are doing the same, also have chemistry today, maths wed and fri and gen studies on thurs, then breathe, til next week! DS is having a last minute chill on fifa! Not sure if that's good or not! Mumblecum1, that's a crazy amount of stress! Must be scary! Wink

mindgone · 15/05/2012 11:53

Good luck all, mums too!;)

TheReturnoftheSmartArse · 15/05/2012 11:55

Mumble , was my DD in there with them? No revision = no stress, as far as she's concerned. History this morning. Haven't heard from her. Don't know if that's good or bad really. She takes one hell of a lot of breaks when she's "revising". For each half hour studying, there seems to be a break of a good 1.5 hours, just time for an episode of NCIS, a chat, a snack.

MABS · 15/05/2012 12:06

dd doing business studies, french, geog and PE at AS, but just the one yesterday and now next one not til Monday so she is apparently 'de stressing' not a clue what that means!

OP posts:
schoolchauffeur · 15/05/2012 12:16

Fingers crossed for all Chem students this afternoon!!

Jins · 15/05/2012 12:39

Indeed. My heart's in my mouth for this one as it's his weakest subject

JustGettingByMum · 15/05/2012 12:42

Aargh, hope the chemistry is a different board to my DS as he thinks they dont start till tomorrow, and he's doing chemistry, oops!

minsmum · 15/05/2012 12:56

My dd was not stressed at all till she did her philosophy yesterday. Now she is in bed and I can't get her up. I don't think it went well

schoolchauffeur · 15/05/2012 13:52

Jins DD's Chemistry is OCR if that helps!

schoolchauffeur · 15/05/2012 13:53

Sorry I meant to direct that to JustGettingByMum

Jins · 15/05/2012 13:56

DS's is Edexcel so it looks like it's a popular day for chemistry

DizzIzz · 15/05/2012 14:06

DD has done History this morning and text to say it went quite well (it's her strongest subject). However, she is doing Chemistry now and I am counting every minute - she needs more than fingers crossed for this one! Will be pleased when tonight is here and a bit of a chill before next week.

JustGettingByMum · 15/05/2012 14:08

Oh dear............

Not sure which board he's sitting. He did sit one in Jan so maybe it's that one

schoolchauffeur · 15/05/2012 14:59

Phew! Text from DD says "it went well", which is good since yesterday morning on her day off we had floods of tears, she was going to fail etc etc
Hope everyone else's AS Level takers survived another day.
It may be early but I think it may be time for a [wind]

schoolchauffeur · 15/05/2012 14:59

i mean Wine!!

mumblechum1 · 15/05/2012 15:07

Did anyone's dc do History ( Russian) this afternoon? DS said the first part was easy but he thinks he messed up the second part Sad

AliceInSandwichLand · 15/05/2012 15:34

It's very stressful here too - DD1 can't sleep and seems to cope by long angst-ridden conversations with me at regular intervals, unfortunately. History was today, English tomorrow, then a whole week till the next history, mercifully. At least it's less protracted than GCSEs were!

mumblechum1 · 15/05/2012 15:55

Alice did your dd do the Russia in the 20th Century or whatever it's called? If so, how did she find it? DS is stressing over it and he doesn't normally stress.
