Just joining in with popcorn, hoping for the implosion of this shower

storminamooncup · 27/04/2024 15:13

Looking forward to the next poll coming out and seeing what the seat difference would be if this does result in an election

MissBedelia · 29/04/2024 07:27

Oh, I do hope so

RandomGeocache · 29/04/2024 07:50

Their previously very vocal supporters have gone a bit quiet on here haven't they?

SirChenjins · 29/04/2024 07:52

@RandomGeocache they certainly have. Has the penny finally dropped for them?

Herculesthescot · 29/04/2024 08:17

Let’s hope, he resigns today. As if we needed any more evidence of his political ineptitude, the sacking of the Greens, was a massive act of self harm.

Although the continued implosion of the SNP is amusing to watch, it is hard to believe Useless has brought this on himself. What did he think was going to happen, when he peremptorily sacked his partners in government?

It was good to have someone so inept at the top of the SNP tree. It did cross my mind , that perhaps a more effective politician might replace him, but I looked around the SNP and realised that was unlikely!

Scottishskifun · 29/04/2024 08:39

They really are scared so rather then face the vote and trigger an election they tell him to jump under a bus instead.

Not sorry to see him go but would much prefer for this shit show to all go!

tobee · 29/04/2024 09:28

You see "coming out fighting" translates as "going to quit on Monday"

lol. There was one poor soul who popped up on another thread with "but...but...but...baby boxes". The rest seem to have quietly faded away. 😂

Press conference at noon

The problem is not that he sacked the greens, many many SNP supporters were already calling for that. It was the manner in which he sacked them - backed into a corner when already weak from policy failures and poor decision making. If he had been decisive and ended the BHA months ago he could have come out of it as a stronger leader for the SNP. Well, perhaps HE couldn’t have, but another leader could have.

TokyoSushi · 29/04/2024 10:31

Seems almost certain he'll resign at 12, what will happen then?

medianewbie · 29/04/2024 10:40

Bye bye Humza 👋
(don't mean to tempt fate by anticipation but hard not to.
Did anyone else see that odious toad Samond positively bouncing with glee in Trevor Phillips interview earlier?

user567543 · 29/04/2024 10:47

I saw Harvie bouncing with glee this morning…

GoatsareGOAT · 29/04/2024 10:53

Tbf I'm fair bouncing with glee 🤣

Everyone remember the SNP going on about "unelected" conservative prime ministers? Naturally quite quite different to have unelected SNP first ministers...

Hard to keep up! Swinney as interim leader, then Gilruth voted in as another stooge FM? It's amazing.

storminamooncup · 29/04/2024 11:01

Swinney would be a fool if he puts his name in the ring. He's too close to the Murrels. He could well have the police at his door one day.

RandomGeocache · 29/04/2024 11:05

They'll be running out of people soon. I think Kate Forbes is playing a blinder - keeping quietly in the background watching her former colleagues tear each other to bits, biding her time until she's ready to swoop in and seize control. If - as it seems likely - the odious Mhairi Black intends to sit in Edinburgh and not London, you've got a choice between the poised and professional Kate Forbes, and mouthy, shouty Mhairi.

Obvs I'd prefer neither but I'd take Kate over Mhairi any day.

storminamooncup · 29/04/2024 11:06

oh fuck I forgot about Mhairi, could she put her name in the ring?

Why not Shona Robison? She's Deputy. I mean, I can give a list of reasons why not, but I'd have imagined she'd be de facto new leader.

Nah, he was just jumping up to reach the door handle... 😂

🚿of 🤡s

Do yoh think Shona will be currently 💩ing her pants or is she blissfully unaware of her own ineptitude?

BigBoysDontCry · 29/04/2024 11:11

They couldn't get Mhairi or the skull in place within 28 days so they are both currently out. Forbes only seems more competent because of what you are comparing her to. She is still a really bad idea.

Rainbowshit · 29/04/2024 11:12

I was also wondering why not Shona? Surely the deputy should be the obvious successor?
