I’m pretty sure that the evidence suggests that the Scottish government absolutely must not award any new ferry contracts to Ferguson marine.

Scotland needs ferries. It doesn’t have the money to waste on ferries that never get delivered.

Which means we can expect an announcement awarding the contract to Ferguson marine any day now….

GoatsareGOAT · 08/03/2024 10:46

Mortified for them!!

Northernsouloldies · 08/03/2024 10:48

They could aye tap sturgeon for a few quid from the missing money pot.

annabelindajane · 08/03/2024 11:47

Hilarious . They will put it down to the cost of living crisis . I wake in the night occasionally and shudder at the thought that these lightweights would have had us totally bankrupt now if we’d been independent.

Rainbowshit · 08/03/2024 13:42

I see the SNP were in 3rd place in terms of first preference votes in the hill head by election. 🤭

BlueThursday · 08/03/2024 16:23

I don’t understand how they can be so pro Gender reassignment yet be in bed with Souttar

SirChenjins · 08/03/2024 16:26

They will do anything for money and power @BlueThursday - their principles go whichever way the wind is blowing.

Northernsouloldies · 10/03/2024 12:54

Humza not liking the criticism over the £250,000 to gaza ..bit like giving a millionaire 10 p.. gaza needs billions not spare change from the Scottish cooncil.ps Humza you're not a world leader in case you forgot.

Catsolitude · 10/03/2024 16:29

@Northernsouloldies indeed. The real scandal is that he was advised to give a lesser amount to UNICEF, did not take the advice and decided to give more to UNWRA. Announced on 2nd November and the in-laws released on 3rd November. It is not Islamophobia to question this.

Northernsouloldies · 10/03/2024 17:49

I never knew the timeline that's interesting to say the least.

That has been the case for as long as I can remember. I won't ever forget Salmond selling off Balmedie to Donald Trump.

Nope, me neither. I know that area well and what slimy Salmond did was an absolute travesty.

Humza has replied to criticism with accusations of Islamophobia and racism. Of course it is no such thing. But don’t forget that on the 1st April he will be able to claim such criticism is a hate crime; that the opposition and press are ‘stirring up hatred’ on the basis of religion and belief. There is no requirement in his hate crime bill for anything other than ‘victim’ perception.

SirChenjins · 11/03/2024 09:31

In turn, could the MP he’s accused claim his perception is that he’s been wrongly called a racist?

This Bill is going to be a shitshow and we’re sleepwalking right into it - I don’t think people fully understand its implications.

GrouchyKiwi · 11/03/2024 09:52

It's such dishonest politicking. Don't question anything we do; if you ask questions you're a BIGOT. Great way to shut down scrutiny and hobble the Opposition. Tinpot dictator 101.

Northernsouloldies · 11/03/2024 09:53

He learnt from the best when it comes to dictatorship.

IWillNoLie · 11/03/2024 10:12

No, because the hate crime bill is purely one way protecting just specific groups.

Northernsouloldies · 11/03/2024 10:17

Just for once couldn't the SNP stick to the bloody job and try and sort the things that matter to people's lives.education , health and the whole myriad of other things that have went to fuck under their governance.

Knifeandforkwhocares · 11/03/2024 12:27

the thing that gets me is that as far as I know international aid is devolved to the UK. We pay tax to the UK, they take that money and give us back money to spend on devolved issues, the UK keeping money for the likes of international aid. So by giving Scotland’s money out in international aid we Scots are paying twice, and money that is meant for SNHS, police, education etc is being pissed away on the first ministers pet projects. We need that money for vital public services, wtf does he think he is doing with it???

IWillNoLie · 11/03/2024 12:33

I wonder? 🤔

Exactly! It stinks to high heaven. I can’t believe the number of journalists and media commentators that cannot see this! Even actually SNP supporters cannot be so daft as to think this money was given innocently - can they?

RandomGeocache · 13/03/2024 13:43

Not so much shenanigans but constant twisting of the narrative to suit their own ends.

99 times out of 100 it's "Westminster can't tell us what to do, we're Scotland and different and special and need our own laws/legislation". Just like the dangerous dogs fiasco where they refused to act and then had to rush through new laws when numpties started importing these awful animals from England.

Now it's "how dare Scotland be left out" when the Post Office compensation scheme is England/Wales only, and Scotland has to do its own thing.

Bunch of absolute melts.

Hundreds of people in Scotland could have been accused of crimes as part of the huge miscarriage of justice.

'The first minister added: "Due to my faith & race, there will always be those, particularly on the far-right, who will desperately try to "prove" my loyalties lie elsewhere. That I am a fifth columnist in the only country I call home, the country I love and the country I have the privilege of leading.
"I can not tell you the trauma my family suffered, particularly during the weeks my in-laws were trapped there.
"To peddle far-right conspiracies in a newspaper is outrageous & will only encourage a further pile-on of vile abuse my family & I have suffered throughout this period."
The Conservative MSP Stephen Kerr, who sits on Holyrood's standards committee, had earlier claimed that the first minister "may very well have broken the (Scottish ministerial) code".'

Will nobody be able to criticse or question Humza post April the 1st, then? Because to do so will inevitably be called 'far right' and the implication is its racist.
