Thought a wee separate thread would be handy to keep us all going and for the kick up the bums we need, tips and motivation

Piling on the weight and eating junk is making me miserable so it needs to stop regardless of how rubbish everything is just now

I have weighed out and logged 3/4 of tomorrows food.
Plan to do weights as soon as I’m up then I won’t talk myself out of doing them.
And aim for 10k steps for time being until I’m injury free .

I think if I could run then I would be spurred on more to eat better but will just have to find some motivation From somewhere

Well done on body combat and PT you two!

Good luck with the weights this morning @runningpink and I hope the thread helps in some small way.

I am up a pound and a half this week. No surprise really, I can certainly feel it, but hope it's a bit of water weight after a not so healthy week. Kicking myself a bit for letting it happen before my Easter hols.

runningpink · 06/04/2022 10:44

Weights done and I feel good! 💪🏻
1litre of water so far
Had an omelette with beans for breakfast which had filled me up. Normally i would be snacking by now!

A pound and half isn’t too bad @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo onwards and upwards until your trip away

Hurray @runningpink and well done!

I do find a proper protein breakfast fills me up, in fact I’m eating more than usual on this eating plan, just different stuff. Stuck to plan today and inspired by @runningpink I walked to and from the garage to drop my car off and collect, incorporating an old lady jog. Also a dog walk and some boxing with DS. So my steps are about 11k now, better than usual.

Looks like my holiday next week has fallen through, so I’ll just focus on the regime.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 08/04/2022 06:11

Oh what a shame about your holiday @WouldBeGood, what happened?

My weight seems to have got back to where it was a couple of weeks ago which is is good. We're going south tonight and will be away for a week - I won't be tracking but will try to keep the activity up.

Tracking will recommence on my return to see if I can shift another half stone before the summer hols!

Good work on the weights @runningpink hope you're doing ok with everything that you have going on. On the injury front - a couple of years ago I had one after the other, it really is soul destroying.

TeeNoG · 08/04/2022 06:56

Sorry about your holiday @WouldBeGood 🙁

So, I haven't started calorie counting, but I am noticing calorie information. We were having bean burgers for dinner and I noticed just the roll was 240kcal?! So, burger without the bun it was.

I've also managed to ditch the snacking throughout the day this week, and went for my first post Covid run last night.

Will weigh in on Monday and see if I have any results! Have a good weekend Smile

WouldBeGood · 08/04/2022 08:33

Long story about holiday, but basically no dog care now. Will try to use the time productively!

That’s good news @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. And have a lovely holiday!

Sounds good @TeeNoG, good that you’re back on it! Have a good weekend

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 08/04/2022 10:35

Well done @TeeNoG - spotting the calories can be a real eye opener. It was bags of sharing crisps that did it for me! Brioche buns too!

That's a bummer about your hols @WouldBeGood

TeeNoG · 11/04/2022 06:49

Morning! I weighed in this morning and am down 1lb in a week. If I continue that trend, I'll be at target by the time we go on holiday, so I'm being positive about the small loss.

This week the focus will continue on no snacking, and I'm also going to attempt IF. Might be challenging as my son is off school and so there will be snacks aplenty around the house. But, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Or lost. Smile

Hope everyone is ok

WouldBeGood · 11/04/2022 16:06

Well done @TeeNoG! Slow and steady is the way to do it. And think of it as a bag of sugar- feels quite heavy!

I’ve eaten and drunk far too much over the weekend. But I started a 5k plan again, and went to the gym today and did some boxing and some weights. DP is trying to lure me into breaking the diet, but I’m holding firm on that!

WouldBeGood · 11/04/2022 16:09

@runningpink how are you?

runningpink · 11/04/2022 16:32

Hey, it’s all been a bit busy here! Food wise I haven’t been great but I have weighed out my food today so that’s a start!

I have walked 5.5miles and been out a short and slow run to test out my injury. Doesn’t feel too bad. Going to jump in shower then do a good stretch to help as well.

Not at my water target yet but will reach by end of the day.
And will also hit 15k steps by end of day

Well done on being back at the gym @WouldBeGood and for resisting DP trying to lead you astray!

Amazing @TeeNoG you sound very motivated!

TeeNoG · 11/04/2022 18:39

@runningpink thank you 😊. I'm just DONE with feeling blobby tbh 😁.

@WouldBeGood you must have iron willpower to swerve someone trying to derail you 💪🏻

WouldBeGood · 12/04/2022 23:40

I’m trying @TeeNoG! Made him eat the turkey burger I had planned, and he conceded it was good! Had too much wine though.

Been a starter run again, knee holding out ok. Going to go again tomorrow as work has intervened with my weights plan.

How’s everyone else done today?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 13/04/2022 08:33

Hi everyone. Just checking in to say hi quickly - consuming far too many calories on my hols, but I'll have to worry about that when I get home!

Good news on the run @WouldBeGood. I also think slow and steady is good @TeeNoG it's how I've lost almost a stone since Christmas. Glad walk/test run went well @runningpink but be careful of that injury!

WouldBeGood · 13/04/2022 19:33

Hi, @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo! Hope you’re having a great holiday.
There’s no stopping DP on the food front: I’m going to have to starve next week….planned weights today but had to work. So run and weights tomorrow, PT Friday, run at weekend.

How you @runningpink? Hope things are a bit better.

And how’s it going @TeeNoG?

I’m fitting into previously too small clothes, so that’s good, but I am actually looking forward to the end of the holidays and back on it properly

WouldBeGood · 14/04/2022 14:38

God, I wish I lived somewhere flat! 🤣

3rd “run” done. Quite liking this new version: she tells you about form and is super enthusiastic

TeeNoG · 16/04/2022 08:39

I hear you @WouldBeGood . I'm in Edinburgh and a flat running route is not to be found around my house!

Managed 2 runs this week and have also been giving the 16/8 method a go (having a day off today though, for sanity).

I'm feeling quite good though will see what the scales say on Monday. I could still defiant improve my water intake.

Hope everyone is enjoying the milder weather!

mapleleavesreturn · 16/04/2022 16:14

Back from holiday and straight into Easter here, but new sports bras arrived to embarrass me into cardio action this week!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 17/04/2022 14:23

I'm back! I think it will be at least a wee before I brave the scales!! Having a lazy, calorific, Easter Sunday, then will get back on it tomorrow. Assuming we don't have covid and get I'll, as just found out we have been in very close contact with confirmed cases...

I live at the top of a hill so tend to do a smallish loop to avoid hills when running!

Did you have a good holiday @mapleleavesreturn? Good work on the clothes @WouldBeGood!

mapleleavesreturn · 17/04/2022 19:27

It was amazing, I feel so much better for being away but now I'd really like the temperature to stay above 15 here, faint hope!

Managed a bit of cardio yesterday for the first time in about 2 years, back to it seriously tomorrow, had a bit too much delicious Easter food and wine today.

TeeNoG · 18/04/2022 09:30

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo hope you manage to stay Covid free!

It's lovely to hear about everyone's holidays 😊. 10 weeks until ours, and coincidentally 10lbs to target too. One more lb off this week, which I'll take considering I haven't actually eaten brilliantly.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter 🐣

WouldBeGood · 18/04/2022 10:01

@TeeNoG I remember a comedian at the Festival one year talking about how Edinburgh is a funny city, as you walk uphill to go out, but still have to walk uphill to get home 😃

A pound a week is ideal.

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo and @mapleleavesreturn glad you had good holidays! Fingers crossed on the covid…

I’m back on it today. Exercise was ok last week, but food and wine very bad.

runningpink · 18/04/2022 17:16

The getting back into running is going ok. I’m taking it steady though. And I’m managing to cycle. So I’m hoping the increase in exercise again will help and I will be less likely to sabotage with junk if iv done some hard graft.

Was out for tea last night but had no alcohol. Had pudding but only as it’s was a set menu with 2 or 3 courses. Realised later that I could have got away with one course and my 2nd course could have been someone’s 3rd course!

Glad the holidays have been enjoyed!
Well done on the running @WouldBeGood and @TeeNoG

Oooh a small amount more cardio done here - I've yet to ever record a peak heart rate on the fit bit though!
