Thought a wee separate thread would be handy to keep us all going and for the kick up the bums we need, tips and motivation

OP posts:
WouldBeGood · 03/02/2022 14:10

It was very slow @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo!

Good on the steps 💪

mapleleavesreturn · 03/02/2022 21:02

Oooh 14k steps - my Fitbit keeps giving me badges, on the one hand it clearly thinks I'm 5, on the other hand the hourly reminders to move more etc are subtly helping incentivise me...

WouldBeGood · 04/02/2022 07:57

Impressive @mapleleavesreturn! Well done!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/02/2022 08:13

Good work @mapleleavesreturn! My Apple Watch nudges me if it doesn't think I've been active enough.

But another good week on the exercise from - planning to carry on with couch to 5k today as well as a bodypump class. Still calorie counting on nutracheck which is going well.

mapleleavesreturn · 04/02/2022 12:06

Wow, body pump and couch25k? I've downloaded the app!

WouldBeGood · 04/02/2022 12:06

Sounds like a good day @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo.

I’ve been to PT, and am really pleased with my weigh in. Wine tonight! 😃

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/02/2022 14:05

I'm trying to add some cardio on bodypump days ahead of returning to the office as it might be harder to exercise so regularly then. Also to justify wine later 😬

Sounds like a good day for you too @WouldBeGood!

The couch25k app @mapleleavesreturn? I never thought I'd be able to run, and I have t actually finished it yet, but hopeful this time. I'm still mostly shuffling though!

mapleleavesreturn · 04/02/2022 15:25

There's an app for it on the Fitbit - I think I'm a way off from couch to 5k, maybe by spring!

WouldBeGood · 04/02/2022 15:32

C25K is great @mapleleavesreturn, I’d highly recommend it. I’m no runner, never have been , but I completed it a few years ago. Was still slow! Best ever time was 36 minutes, when I was slim. I couldn’t get faster, so moved on to 10k. I’ve done it periodically since and hoping to get back to it this year.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 05/02/2022 07:36

Didn't do bodypump in the end as I was feeling a bit stiff, so did a stretch class instead which was worth doing.

Agree with wouldbegood on the couch to 5k app @mapleleavesreturn I'm definitely no runner either and was very unfit when I started it but I was amazed how quickly I got running. I've only never completed it due to a combination of injury, excuses, and an aversion to running in rubbish weather. It's definitely doable and there's a real sense of achievement when you get up to the first longer run.

mapleleavesreturn · 05/02/2022 07:58

Sounds like I should do it - my watch thing has already identified the lack of cardio / higher heart rate stuff!

WouldBeGood · 05/02/2022 09:40

I could do with a good stretch @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo!

Think my exercise today will just be walking.

I started C25K a number of times, but succeeded when I just decided I was going to do it religiously, every session even if it sounded scary 🤣

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 05/02/2022 10:31

Don't overthink it mapleleavesreturn just get out there 😀 I think I've reached the 'just feckin do it' stage now WouldBeGood. Though I'm glad I was out yesterday and didn't leave it until today - it's wild out.

WouldBeGood · 08/02/2022 08:56

How’s everyone doing? I had a bad weekend with too much food and drink. Back on calories Sunday and yesterday. Need to get to the gym today - annoyingly I concerned my waitlist place in spin as I woke up with a scratchy throat, which has now gone, and was worried would spread disease! Will do Wattbike and weights and take dog out. It’s actually looking an ok day.

mapleleavesreturn · 08/02/2022 20:06

Slept terribly the last two nights so not on track but hoping to be all over it tomorrow.

Caught sight of self in long hospital mirror today with unflattering lighting - needed a lie down after that!

WouldBeGood · 08/02/2022 20:19

Oh, @mapleleavesreturn, sounds rubbish, hope you’re ok

mapleleavesreturn · 08/02/2022 20:32

I hate bad sleep - I've never had two terrible nights on the trot where I've been awake at 3. I'll be fine, must be due a good night tonight!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 08/02/2022 21:18

I've been a bit rubbish over last few days. Lots of food and drink Saturday, Sunday was accidentally very calorific, and I properly binged some chocolate yesterday, which isn't like me. Fully expecting to have reversed last week's losses on my weigh in tomorrow! Exercise has still been ok though.

Tomorrow is a new week (in calorie counting terms) and I've got a quiet weekend planned so should fare much better (I hope!).

Hope you get a better night's @mapleleavesreturn

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/02/2022 07:50

Up 1/4lb since last week, so not too bad all told. Fingers crossed for a better week on the scales. Hope everyone who may or may not still be following the thread is doing well.

WouldBeGood · 09/02/2022 14:03

That’s pretty good @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo! Still down plus some fun 😃

I’ve done weights and spin class at the gym. I did the Wattbike yesterday for 13kms, which was boring but feels good to have done.

Stuck to the calories again, but not expecting good news on the Friday weigh in this week - suppose can’t always lose, and it should be a long term project.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/02/2022 18:53

Good work @WouldBeGood

A low calorie day here and I got in a C25K (now back to the end of week 6 and a 25 min run today) and a Core class so feeling pretty good!

WouldBeGood · 10/02/2022 08:45

That’s great @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. Week six is really good - it’s so satisfying when you get to the longer runs.

I have work today but hoping to get over to do another Wattbike session. PT and weigh in tomorrow 😱

WouldBeGood · 11/02/2022 11:13

2.1lbs down today so better than expected tk be honest.

Two weeks til next weigh in so must stick with it

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 11/02/2022 12:06

Oh well done @WouldBeGood! I've had a good couple of days on the exercise and calories front, and a quiet weekend planned so hoping for some progress on the scales on Wednesday when I next weigh in.

WouldBeGood · 11/02/2022 12:13

Thanks! And sounds good for your Wednesday!

I am going to have wine tonight 😃 But healthy food and plan exercise at weekend.
