Thought a wee separate thread would be handy to keep us all going and for the kick up the bums we need, tips and motivation

I find my fitness pal a bit of a pain for logging food so I may have given up after one meal any recommendations for other free logging apps ?

WouldBeGood · 07/01/2022 08:32

Well, the best laid plans.. PT has to go for aPCR as a close contact and symptoms, and it’s snowed. So I’m taking this as a sign that I should just snuggle up at home. 😃

rookiemere · 07/01/2022 08:34

@WouldBeGood you could be doing some press ups and burpees.

WouldBeGood · 07/01/2022 08:36

😳

shouldistop · 07/01/2022 08:48

Ds had to go to school on a sledge this morning Grin
I've got yoga booked for lunchtime but don't fancy taking the car out in that so going to cancel.

WouldBeGood · 07/01/2022 08:59

School by sledge is cool @shouldistop!

mapleleavesreturn · 07/01/2022 09:02

Disappointed to find no snow just freezing here! Good day yesterday, first in ages.

WouldBeGood · 07/01/2022 09:04

I hate the bloody snow. Luckily so does the dog

mapleleavesreturn · 07/01/2022 09:06

The setter pup has to be dragged out in the rain in his coat, it's ridiculous and makes an attempt to turn around every few steps. He makes a game attempt to go back to bed after he's been out at 7 for a quick relief trip.

So much for a dog forcing me to exercise!

WouldBeGood · 07/01/2022 10:09

Awww 🥰

I am quite jealous of a setter pup. Keep thinking of my old girl and being tempted

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 07/01/2022 10:59

A wee bit of snow here, but not too bad. No gritting though so DH had a bit of a scary slidy moment in the car earlier.

Not aware of any other good free tracking apps @rookiemere. Worth a search on the weight loss boards? Nutracheck is £23.99 for a year at the moment. I'm using a 7 day free trial to see how I get on with it before committing. I am preferring it to MFP though. Once a few of our regular foods have been logged I think it will be fairly painless.

WouldBeGood · 07/01/2022 11:04

I use the scan thing to log food on MFP.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 07/01/2022 17:08

I have been full of good intentions all day about exercise, but now I have finished work a body combat class is the LAST thing I want to do. Gah. Must do it.

WouldBeGood · 07/01/2022 17:21

Think how good you’ll feel when you’ve done it @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo!!

mapleleavesreturn · 07/01/2022 18:16

Second good day here! No exercise but good day food wise. Now to avoid the evening snacks...

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 07/01/2022 18:19

I feel amazing @WouldBeGood (and very red faced 😂)

Well done @mapleleavesreturn

WouldBeGood · 07/01/2022 18:56

Well done @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo and @mapleleavesreturn!

runningpink · 07/01/2022 20:36

Thanks all. Yes I’m ok today.

I haven’t been 100% on the food but I have hit my steps, went an early morning walk before work and been on the turbo this evening and drank lots of water.

Snow here but not enough to do anything with really. I don’t like driving in the snow but I like enough to do snowy activities with the kids at work.

Tomorrow’s plan is parkrun volunteer, turbo or run and a Pilates from YouTube.

I get fed up weighing everything for mfp but it does stop me picking at bits so o might try again

How was the class @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo?

OP posts:
WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 07/01/2022 21:42

Glad you're doing ok @runningpink The class was good thanks. Not quite the calorie burn I was achieving when I was exercising more regularly, but it was good to do.

mapleleavesreturn · 08/01/2022 09:22

Oooh can I make it through day 3 healthily? You know you're cutting back when at 6pm you're already looking forward to the morning coffee!

I have got some great coffee in, I find nice teas and coffees help distract me a little from snacks.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 08/01/2022 09:49

I've been sabotaged by DH this morning. We were supposed to be having skinny sausage bagels and while he got the thin bagels they were filled with massive high cal Cumberland sausages instead of lower fat chipolatas. I only discovered this when they were on my plate, so rather than go to waste....

I'm going to need to fit another exercise class in today to try and balance things out. We have a family gathering later (delayed because of Christmas covid cases) that will undoubtedly be full of calorific treats and foods that will be hard to politely turn down.

WouldBeGood · 08/01/2022 11:12

That sounds so good though, @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo! I’m sure you can balance it all out through the week, and extra exercise.

I’ve got my diet through from the PT today, plus he’s scaring me with weekly weigh ins where I must lose 2lbs… 😱 I can do the food ok, there’s loads to eat, including a daily dairy milk bar if I want 😱, but can I cut back the drink calories??

WouldBeGood · 08/01/2022 11:13

Well done @runningpink, you sound like you’re doing well

rookiemere · 08/01/2022 11:15

Ooh that sounds like a nice breakfast @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo .
I'm just back from parkrun and trying to avoid making banana and egg pancakes ( you basically mash them together, it's quite nice) until nearer lunchtime.
Don't know what we're doing for dinner tonight as cinema annoyingly ends around 7.45 which feels a bit late for me but keen to avoid eating rubbish during the movie.

rookiemere · 08/01/2022 11:18

@WouldBeGood surely the dairy milk could be replaced by a vodka/gin with slimline tonic.
