Thought a wee separate thread would be handy to keep us all going and for the kick up the bums we need, tips and motivation

OP posts:

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo it’s my wine habit, I fear.

Hard to give up, as I think I’ve wittered on here before I definitely use it as a crutch. I am losing weight but slowly. Could do with a bit more oomph!

Well done on a good day. I’ve been a very slow 2k
jog and a dog walk. Trying to do something every day.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/11/2021 16:55

Ah yes, wine. Also my downfall. More than snacks. DH and I got into some very bad habits during lockdown and are trying to restrict it to weekends only. Some weeks we win, others not some much...

WouldBeGood · 16/11/2021 20:28

I’ve been watching Good Girls. Think I’m going to aim for a Christina Hendricks figure: same height as me and same giant boobs. 🤣 I’ll work on the foxy vibe

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 17/11/2021 20:31

Oh I loved good girls, I was disappointed when it finished. Christina Hendricks isn't a bad aspiration!

When out for my run on Monday I managed to hurt my foot! So had to take it easy yesterday but did bodypump today and have not been too bad on the food front.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 18/11/2021 15:29

How is everyone doing? Are you keeping up the 30 day challenge @WouldBeGood? How's the move to 5 days of exercise @shouldistop? I hope @runningpink is enjoying the new kitchen.

I've now completed week 6 of C25K for the first time so I'm really pleased about that.

WouldBeGood · 18/11/2021 16:23

Well done @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo! I’m keeping it up and on track for 30km by the end of the month. Not pretty!

I have PT tomorrow and physio. I’m a bit scared of physio as I’m worried he’ll tell me to rest it. It’s really quite sore.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 19/11/2021 18:23

Well done on keeping on track! How was physio? Bodycombat just done - bit sluggish but just about made it!

WouldBeGood · 19/11/2021 21:24

Thanks @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. The bloody physio was off sick and noone told me so I went. Another one was kind enough to see me quickly: I’m not to run 🥲 But am to cycle which I hate!

She thinks injury rather than degenerative which o suppose is good. Proper appointment next week.

Well done on combat. I did boxing at PT today and it was great! Anger out

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 20/11/2021 08:10

Good that the physio suspects an injury rather than degenerative. I'm going back to physio next week about my hip. The exercises and stretches i'be been given don't seem to be making that much of a difference yet, so I'm now a bit concerned there is actually something wrong.

I really like doing combat at the end of the working week - gets out all the frustrations of work before the weekend!

WouldBeGood · 20/11/2021 09:21

Oh, that’s annoying @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. I hope they can help you.

Combat is my favourite class! Though I’m a woman of peace really. 😃

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 21/11/2021 07:45

Oh me too, it's a very good stress reliever!

WouldBeGood · 25/11/2021 22:28

Back to physio today. He reckons it is wear and tear, being podgy, leaping about. Wrinkly cartilages 🤣

Good news. I can keep doing all my exercise including the old lady jogging, just not the leaping. Feet up and ice on afterwards to ease it if it’s sore. Can’t decide if this is good or bad!

titsintiers · 26/11/2021 15:40

Leaping wreaks havoc on the pelvic floor anyway

WouldBeGood · 26/11/2021 16:16

🤣 that’s not crumbled yet!

In fitness news I did a cross fit based PT session today - that was hard! But I’ve decided I’m going to focus properly on diet as well as fitness and speed the weight loss up

WouldBeGood · 26/11/2021 16:16

What’s everyone else doing?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 26/11/2021 16:43

Hi! I've been bad this week. Too much socialising and little exercising.

But, weather permitting will kickstart a better week next week with a winter walk!

Good news you can keep up much of the exercise @WouldBeGood - you like Combat don't you? Can you carry one with that with modifications?

WouldBeGood · 27/11/2021 11:12

I’m helped by the fact I have no social life @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo 😃

Combat is forbidden just now. Hoping can get back to it if I keep up my regime. Or I might just become a top boxer

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 29/11/2021 08:00

Fingers crossed @WouldBeGood. Or maybe get a punchbag on your Christmas list.

I'm exhausted. I don't know what is wrong with me, I've had zero energy all weekend. Definitely no progress on the weight loss, but we'll see how this week goes. If I stay awake long enough to work and do my physio exercises I'll have done well!

WouldBeGood · 29/11/2021 09:04

That’s a shame @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. I don’t know if it’s the time of year but me and my kids have also felt knackered.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 29/11/2021 09:48

Yeah, I wondered if my immune system is just a bit under par just now. I had a low level lingering cold for weeks. I'm sure the time of year doesn't help!

WouldBeGood · 29/11/2021 09:54

Could definitely be the aftermath of that @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo. Take it easy till you feel back to par.

I’m toying with buying myself a Fitbit watch to cheer me up as my holiday cancelled. My cheapie tracker has bitten the dust. And there’s a lovely emerald and rose gold one on same…

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 29/11/2021 16:16

Oh I love a bit of watch tracking. I'd do it.

WouldBeGood · 01/12/2021 16:34

Well, I’m sticking to my efforts. PT with big weights on Monday. Finished my 30k Samaritans challenge with 6k yesterday (walked cos circumstances) and went to gym today 💪

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 01/12/2021 19:23

Well done @WouldBeGood my week hasn't been too bad despite feeling under par. Managed bodypump on Monday and bodycombat today. Got myself on the scales, and despite my crappy November efforts I haven't put any weight on so I'll take that as a bonus.

Full of enthusiasm for December, hope to create a bit of capacity for Christmas indulgences and re-double efforts in the new year. That's the plan anyway when I'm feeling all pleased with my bodycombat efforts an hour ago! Grin

WouldBeGood · 01/12/2021 21:36

Well done @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo!

I’m really trying to knuckle down
