@WouldBeGood

Have a watch *@ResilienceWanker*. I’d advise through your fingers
God, I can't. I just can't. I've done some yoga and had a soothing herbal tea and am feeling pre-bed zen. Watching Swinney and Sturgeon debating it will just set me off on one again. Even Michael Gove knows what a nightclub is.
ssd · 09/09/2021 21:48

I wouldn't @WouldBeGood

ssd · 09/09/2021 21:49

Can you get him an antibody test @WouldBeGood
Maybe if he has antibodies theres no need anyway

ResilienceWanker · 09/09/2021 21:51

@WouldBeGood

Teenage boys six times more likely to suffer heart problems from the vaccine than be hospitalised by Covid. *all really small though
Yes, this is the kind of thing that worries me. So the passports are currently for over 18s, but NS said they were intending considering lowering that to 16 once enough of that age group had had a chance to be jagged. So although it's "voluntary" in that age group, it's really not voluntary is it, if they want to go to a football match or a gig. Angry
Lockdownbear · 09/09/2021 22:08

Could Passports be the thing that pull SNP down, something eventually has too?

Daft question because I'm missing something. What makes people want to be trans?
It's pretty much culturally acceptable for women to wear what they like, do what they like?
Men I accept its more difficult to wear dresses and make-up. But all careers are open to them and actually they tend to rise above the ranks quickly in traditionally female roles (ie a disproportionate number of primary heads are male etc).

So why do they want to be trans rather than a man in a dress?

ssd · 09/09/2021 22:14

The vaccine passports wont work. They'll go the way of 17 yr olds borrowing fake ids

Explosivefarts · 09/09/2021 22:15

I really hope so. I have seen some die hard supporters posting their disgust over this and their mistake about hiring Jane Godley.

WouldBeGood · 09/09/2021 22:16

They’re making a criminal offence of forging a vaccine passport, apparently

It beggars belief

OP posts:

Dh says they have vaccine passport in Ireland, apparently they just flash their phone at security and walk in

Scottishskifun · 09/09/2021 23:03

I would choose a vaccine passport over closures and I'm not bothered by them other than concerns about how early I will have to arrive at the rugby!

But I am finding it ridiculous so they don't know what a night club is, they haven't defined events outside does that include community fireworks? oh and best of all actually they don't yet have a app for it.....it goes live the day before because there is never any technical glitches.....
It's just ill applied and thought out and way too rushed and once again businesses in Scotland have little time to prepare.

MaxNormal · 09/09/2021 23:07

Just popping up to let you all know that what they've said about exemptions is a big fat lie.
My gp confirmed on Tuesday that there is no method to grant this.
Can't have the vaccine? Tough shit.

WouldBeGood · 10/09/2021 04:16

The whole thing is just so wrong @MaxNormal. And that is terrible. But wholly unsurprising.

Who’d have thought we’d come to this?

OP posts:
MaxNormal · 10/09/2021 07:55

@WouldBeGood I have now written to my MSP and list MSPs so we'll see. MSP is unfortunately an SNP member though.

That is completely unacceptable and if they are pushing this through then they need to sort ASAP!

Sadly it doesn't suprise me though!
Try twitter as well especially flagging to the Scottish sun journalist as although I don't like the sun he's very good at holding stuff up to the SG and putting pressure on them!

sartorius · 10/09/2021 08:09

Awful but doesn't surprise me @MaxNormal
Have you been successful in getting GP to confirm you are medically exempt?
I've seen over on COVID boards people who were in an exemption category having great difficulty getting a medical person to formally declare an exemption.
Seems no-one really wants to take responsibility for the decision

WouldBeGood · 10/09/2021 08:09

I think it will be deliberate. There’s clearly an attempt to force everyone to get vaccinated, and those who can’t will be left as second tier citizens, like those who choose not to.

This is why the whole thing is so invidious, and people should not accept it.

OP posts:
MaxNormal · 10/09/2021 08:18

sartorius they "sympathise" and "completely understand my position" is as far as they're going.

Apparently there's a list of conditions for whom the vaccine is contra-indicated but that's it. And not even a mechanism to exempt those people.

I knew I had problems, up until an MHRA hearing in 2018 my condition wasn't acknowedged full stop. But from my perspective, I know I react horrifically to a large variety of medication now, and I've spent the last few months seeing people in my support group suffer relapses after taking the vaccines, so there's no way. Just no way.

But without something official I suppose I'm just another anti-vaxxer making a choice and deserve everything I get.

KingsleyShacklebolt · 10/09/2021 08:37

@WouldBeGood I have a 13 year old boy too and my thoughts are exactly the same as yours. The health experts have said that they are not recommending for that age group.

Humza Useless, with his degree in politics, thinks he knows better. Who do you trust... the UK's most educated medics, or a politician and glorified GP Gregor Smith, who is firmly in the SNP pocket?

The GRA thing is just horrendous but voicing concerns making you a terf and a transphobe. Even though most of us who are very against the proposals are very much of the opinion that everyone should have the freedom to live as they wish without discrimination. But that people can't change sex.

ResilienceWanker · 10/09/2021 08:38

That is awful max. I did wonder about the exemptions. It all seemed to be so quickly brushed over, yet we've known for ages that there ARE people who can't be vaccinated, but GPs and consultants just haven't had the mechanism to "formally" assign that. I mean, no one's been able to link together people having vaccines in two different nations of the UK, or come up with a passport that can't be modified to add someone else's name. So it's hardly a surprise that a system to formally register medical exemptions is beyond us. Isn't that disability discrimination if they aren't allowing people with certain medical conditions to enter certain events? (that's why they allowed mask exemptions for people who can't wear them, presumably - and that's self identified as it is acknowledged that GPs aren't aware of every condition that may prevent people being able, and there is no central list of conditions/ circumstances - people will react differently).

WouldBeGood · 10/09/2021 08:48

It’s also another instance of being forced to disclose your medical information in order to be able to access normal everyday life

And herself has been on this morning saying that women’s concerns about the GRA are “sincerely held, but not valid”.

And, of the Janey Godley fiasco, “these things happen”.

I am actually genuinely frightened by this statement.
mapleleavesreturn · 10/09/2021 09:46

Surely they'll have to do a better job of allowing medical exemption cards for covid and other vaccines if they remove privileged based on vaccine status.

And as for the GRA comments, that is terrifying. Concerns? Not valid. Bloody hell.
