There are other elements apart from women's spaces to be considered too. By asking people to pretend that others are that which they are materially not, we get ourselves into all sorts of trouble.
Male HCPs will be able to carry out procedures on women even if they've specifically asked for a woman. Indeed, a lot of women probably feel unable to ask for that now. That's a lot of vulnerable women who won't access healthcare. Or domestic abuse shelters.
Women will once again be kicked down the pecking order at work (see Pip Bunce who is only a woman sometimes but still managed to win a women in business award).
Unfortunate enough to end up in prison? Hope you don't have to share a cell with a male sexual offender, but if you do, and you try to talk to someone about it, you'll be a bigot - and that's now against the law.
And sport? We all know what's happening there.
At the end of it all, women are being silenced and put back into their homes, just where a certain type of man likes us. And 'our' government is enshrining it in law, and making ringing a warning bell illegal.
It makes me fucking sick and if I could leave, I would, but thanks to Brexit, that's off.
