Can’t believe it’s needed….

No just normal boring bread Grin. We don't all love deep fried stuff in sugar and lard! Smile

duvetdrama · 09/07/2021 14:49

Bimbo bread is magic Smile Think I'd wait until no testing before going away though. Imagine someone tests positive on the way home...accommodation at own expense and isolation in a hotel room for 10 days Confused

latissimusdorsi · 09/07/2021 14:55

That's my fear too @duvetdrama

rookiemere · 09/07/2021 16:01

Ah sorry didn't realise this was the holiday railing thread. As per the other thread, we've kissed goodbye to Majorca, may not even go to Oban if the other family doesn't as teen DS will refuse and at 15 too young to leave alone.

There's just too many things that could go wrong, tbh the best case scenario was DS getting a positive lateral flow before we left, nightmarish if you tested positive when over there.

rookiemere · 09/07/2021 16:03

Still we've always got Whitby - even if I couldn't book into Bettys tea rooms at York when we're there, I do have dinner booked at The Magpie and can throw all the time I was googling about Majorca going Amber and cost of tests into making more reservations.

riverrunning · 09/07/2021 18:42

Presumably tui have a plan if you test positive over there?

I've definitely had a bit too much fun looking at Greek island holidays...if we went end July, even if we had a two week isolation in there they'd be fine.

latissimusdorsi · 09/07/2021 19:34

There was travel agent on the tv other day saying there's still things need to be worked out around testing
Apparently some people can keep testing positive for couple months even though they're no longer infectious and at moment they don't know how they would get these people home

Yes, yes, yes. But in evidence for the prosecution, I give you "butteries". Grin
ResilienceWanker · 09/07/2021 20:10

Ah, what a shame rookie. But yes, not worth all the hassle and worry at the moment. We couldn't book Betty's either! When we walked past it looked rammed, but they were taking walk ins if you could be bothered to wait. But given the overall amount of food consumed on holiday, I don't think any of us really needed it...

runningpink · 09/07/2021 20:14

@WouldBeGood just a heads up that we will need a new thread pretty soon

Did you have any luck about visiting?

forfucksakenett · 09/07/2021 20:41

Oh my God @ResilienceWanker to be fair I do love butteries. I can't get them in my supermarket and now I'm drooling at the thought!!!

In my defence they have no sugar though. I think 🤔🤣

God tier food.

Scottishskifun · 09/07/2021 20:54

I do not understand butteries or rowies at all!
😂 I remember DH friend visiting from London and she had a top 25 things to try in Scotland and one of them was a buttery which it described as a Scottish savory squashed crossaint........ 🤣 Her face was a picture when she bit into it!

titsintiers · 09/07/2021 20:54

Frigging love a buttery, Asda sell them and so do Aldi.

My parents used to call them an Aberdeen roll.

forfucksakenett · 09/07/2021 20:56

I do love them but I don't understand when people cost them in butter. Surely that's too far? I just eat them as they are. Perfect!

randomsabreuse · 09/07/2021 20:58

Love butteries, kids not convinced. Also like Aldi's Crolls with chocolate spread.

Quite a few of the guys in my office eat them with butter and jam 🤷‍♂️

I love a buttery. But butter and jam together is an abomination

A buttery is a savoury delight. End. Of.
