Ah I won the hamper at work. Delighted. Now have to work out how to get it home on Monday.

Going out tonight. First night out without Mr G since Dec 2019. I want to go but also cannot be arsed.

ResilienceWanker · 18/06/2021 16:29
If anyone hasn't seen the SSO doing yes sir I can boogie, this has been the highlight of this afternoon:

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-54930718
God, I translated that in my head as Senior Scientific Officer and wondered if it was going to be Jason or Gregor doing the boogie EnvyGlitterball. I'm so uncultured...

I love a hamper groovee What's in it?! I'm sure you'll have a great time out out... but I understand the general can't be arsedness.

WouldBeGood · 18/06/2021 16:39

@ResilienceWanker dear god! Wash my brain!

Well done, @Groovee! From experience my advice is that it will be fine once you’re out.

My guests aren’t coming as I felt duty bound to advise them there are loads of kids off in my boy’s year, though not his class. Hey ho

There appears to be lots of alcohol, a blanket, candles, chocolates. Will find out on Monday fully x

SoMuchForSummerLove · 18/06/2021 17:01

Want to go but also can't be arsed...that's my whole vibe these days. Although I did have a sneaky lunch with a friend today when I was meant to be working....and that felt really good.

That's a shame @WouldBeGood Sad We have friends all going round to one of the houses tonight but we're keeping away. Two of our school's classes are isolating so it just feels a bit like cases are creeping closer, and Mr SoMuch isn't double jabbed.

rookiemere · 18/06/2021 17:10

It does feel like a bit of a race for time to escape the email or text of doom before the end of term.

I'm keeping DS off on Thursday anyway as his school uniform no longer fits and it's prize giving from their classrooms.

@Groovee hampers are such fun. I got a lovely one as a leaving present last week and it reminded me of school tombolas as I kept dipping in and finding more treats.

I'm out for dinner tonight but tend not to put my details in and DH is away with DDog. I am sadly excited by the opportunity to clean the place without DDog instantly getting it smelly and hairy again.

WouldBeGood · 18/06/2021 17:11

Yeah, o thought they’d be worried so fair to tell them.

Turns out DP calls himself a Nat but doesn’t own a Scotland flag 😱

My Scotland flag hasn’t arrived: a short sighted delay by the suppliers I think

Oh no... What a pain wouldbegood Sad. Still, more drink for you I suppose. (silver linings and all)

That sounds lovely groovee. Definitely worth winning. I always win shit in those kind of things. Got a metal birdbath once, that weighed an absolute tonne, when we lived in a 3rd floor flat with no garden to speak of Confused. That was rapidly regifted to someone else from the office who probably didn't want it either, but at least had a car so didn't have to lug it home from the office on the bus... I'm sure it's still doing the round of school tombolas to this day.

WouldBeGood · 18/06/2021 17:22

I do have a lot of drink 😂 I swithered whether to say to them, as it’s not official isolation or anything for us, but suppose it might be, and having read people’s concerns on here I decided to tell them so they could choose.

Sounds good @rookiemere - totally get the joy of clean dog free house, much as o love mine

I'm going out tonight as well, am avoiding the football, I've seen enough to last several lifetimes. Ds is in London, other ds going to the fanzone, dh watching on tv. I'm out and will avoid it all Grin

Scottishskifun · 18/06/2021 17:39

@latissimusdorsi

Ban on travel to Manchester???? Did anyone hear the briefing, What reason was given?
It's a completely ridiculous ban in the first place which isn't enforceable under any means! I find it ironic these bans to areas in England, I'm sure there would be uproar up here if WM said the same thing about Glasgow/Dundee etc! Thankfully that's extremely unlikely!
riverrunning · 18/06/2021 17:47

Bit worried about the dispersal order in place in London, really hoping it's all peaceful tonight.

rookiemere · 18/06/2021 18:02

Don't know if I should drink tonight. DS 15 is watching the football with his mates and said he would get bus home, but perhaps I should abstain in case of emergency ( other than the glass of Prosecco included in the deal) . Or on the other hand there's always Über.

WouldBeGood · 18/06/2021 18:24

Enjoy, @ssd and hope your DS has a great time.

Definitely drink @rookiemere

Definitely drink @rookiemere

Thanks
titsintiers · 18/06/2021 19:51

Yep, I'll second the drinking motion. Enjoy

Haudyourwheesht · 18/06/2021 19:59

@WouldBeGood I'd still have come. Grin

I'm home alone tonight and can't even make the most of having the TV to myself as I'm watching the game anyway.

It's so nice to see so many folk out (up here and down south) enjoying themselves. Hopefully lots of the boys who've lost a year of fun are making up for it now.

WouldBeGood · 18/06/2021 20:12

I do have plenty wine @Haudyourwheesht 😊 Might need it.. 😱

Haudyourwheesht · 18/06/2021 22:07

And a pretty decent result all round. 🍾 Roll on Tuesday.

WouldBeGood · 18/06/2021 22:15

Helensburghmiddleagedmum · 18/06/2021 22:33

Scotland were superb, should have won but delighted with the draw, hope all the fans enjoy the celebrations, would love to be a part of them

shouldistop · 18/06/2021 22:49

We played well. My arse was making buttons at the end.

ssd · 18/06/2021 22:53

I didn't watch it. Had a nice football free evening Grin
