Is a hypocrite.

Boris will be 'picking a fight with the democratic wishes of the Scottish people' and ' the only people that can decide the future of Scotland are the Scottish people'

Forgive me if i'm being stupid but didn't we already have a vote on independence, how did that go. Oh that's right......not how NS wanted so she ignores the democratic wishes of the Scottish people and pushes for Indy 2.

Laughable how she comes out with this stuff.

Eh?

Why would you need to be a fan of Boris to have an opinion about his broken promises?

You don't appear to be an SNP fan, but you have an opinion about what you perceive to be theirs?

Graffitiqueen · 10/05/2021 12:37

Gosh your comprehension skills are really lacking aren't they?

Sorry to disappoint you that I am not going to try and weasel out of Boris's broken promises. That was your implication and it's there for all to see.

FifeQuine · 10/05/2021 12:44

@Quincie

From the 2014 referendum Gov info - 588. What will Scotland's national anthem be?

A decision on Scotland's official national anthem will be for the first Scottish Parliament of an independent Scotland following consultation with the people of Scotland.

Songs such as "Flower of Scotland" and "Scots Wha Hae" will continue to be sung as unofficial national anthems in the meantime.

Oh well, something good might come of it - getting rid of teh whinging dirge that is 'flower of scotland'.
Not even factually correct as there were same number of Scots in Cumberrland's army as on the Jacobite side.

Ah, bless.

Flower of Scotland is about Flodden. Whole different battle. Whole different century.

As you were......

NowtSoQueerAsFolk · 10/05/2021 12:45

It's not me that's having trouble comprehending, sorry to disappoint you.

I notice the lack of a credible answer. I also note you fail to see how comparing hope you feel about broken promises would be relevant, especially if you aren't a fan of both sides.

Anyway, this is going nowhere, unlike me.

See ya! Hope you have a good day 🙂

Graffitiqueen · 10/05/2021 12:47

Face it you've been totally trounced.

I'm off to too to get my vaccine one thing Boris has done right. Shame it's so many weekend behind my family of the same show in England. Thanks for that Nicola. 🙄

Not sure why people think she has done a good job on covid.

FifeQuine · 10/05/2021 12:48

Oh God, not Flodden. Bannockburn. Wish I'd never started now. Wink

Graffitiqueen · 10/05/2021 12:48

*same age

Graffitiqueen · 10/05/2021 12:49

And by the way bringing up the tories when you're losing the argument is called whataboutery and it doesn't wash.

Aww that sucks. Where I'm from they are now vaccinating all 18+, as well as vulnerable 16 and 17 year olds.

Amazing how different it can be from one Scottish health board area to another.

Graffitiqueen · 10/05/2021 12:58

Yet still all way behind the rest of the uk...

Abouttoblow · 10/05/2021 12:59

Nicola Sturgeon has zero plans for another referendum. Another few years for the pension pot and then she'll be off. She won't even live in Scotland when she's done being FM. I don't even expect her to stay for the next 5 years. 2, maybe 3 at most.

NowtSoQueerAsFolk · 10/05/2021 13:02

Maybe. Not from the figures I've seen, but you might know differently.

Not sure where your evidence is for this? Nicola has dedicated almost her whole working life to the SNP. She is incredibly hard working and hasn't had a single day off since the beginning of the pandemic. She really isn’t doing this for the pension. I hope she does get some other opportunities once her time as FM is over but i cant ever see her leaving Scotland for good.
GrandPrismatic · 10/05/2021 14:18

@Tallpaulwho

Sturgeon doesn't actually want another referendum, it's all just hot air as the SNP know damn well parliament will not allow it. All the grievance mongering however keeps the SNP in power and Nicola Sturgeon as the highest paid politician in the UK. She knows very well independence would be a disaster financially for most Scottish people, who would react by voting the SNP out. All the SNP MPs and MSPs would lose their easy money and they know it.

So slow clap for those that still vote SNP and Greens, putting Scotland into another 5 years of limbo where constitutional grievance has all the attention but schools, health and welfare are ignored.

You are spot on. It’s tragic.
Abouttoblow · 10/05/2021 15:09

We can agree to disagree Newstepchild. Let's see what happens over the next year or so. The SNP's only priorities are the GRA and the HCB. She has sold out every woman in Scotland. Her treatment of Joanna Cherry, the eligibility for the list votes and the whole NEC debacle tell you everything you need to know.

Newstepchild · 10/05/2021 15:36

@abouttoblow I absolutely disagree with your analysis and can see no evidence to support it.

Abouttoblow · 10/05/2021 17:08

Newstepchild
At the NEC elections members voted on specific women who were willing to stand up for women's rights and replace those on the NEC who were not. The rules were then unilaterally changed by the SNP and roles were created for those who were voted off to remain and have a vote. That's evidence. A handful of activists who regularly abuse women on Twitter left the SNP claiming transphobia and NS released a video within hours begging them not to leave. Joanna Cherry was threatened with violence and sexual violence on numerous occasions, one of which was a threat of rape from an SNP member which ended in a conviction, and NS said nothing. That's evidence. Nicola Sturgeon will do nothing about independence. She'll leave for a cushy job somewhere and Scottish women will have to fight for their rights all over again. If the changes to the GRA are passed, Scottish women will have none.

Newstepchild · 10/05/2021 18:24

Your coming from a different perspective than me. I’m not anti trans. Horrible what happened to Joanna regarding threats etc. I’m not a fan of hers politically (used to be but not now). But even your differing point of view shows no evidence that Nicola will opt for a cushy job?! She’s certainly not displayed any sign that that’s what she’s aiming for so far and doesn’t look like she’s going any where. She works incredibly hard and is definitely motivated by ideology.

SixesAndEights · 10/05/2021 18:39

I don't particularly like Nicola Sturgeon but I do respect her in many ways. I can't for the life of me imagine her disappearing to a 'cushy job' anywhere.

Maria53 · 10/05/2021 18:46

Quite agree @SixesAndEights

Nicola was in the SNP for years working hard at a time when they had no chance of success whatsoever. She isn't like some of the careerists that have jumped on the gravy train since. I'm certain she will live her life out in Scotland.

StarryEyeSurprise · 10/05/2021 19:18

So, here we are again. Blame is apportioned to a woman for a man threatening another woman.
Abouttoblow · 10/05/2021 19:50

StarryEyeSurpise
I've no idea where you got that from. I didn't say, imply or suggest that. At all.
If I'm wrong about Nicola's next steps in the near future, so be it. I'm pretty sure I won't be though.

Spasiba · 10/05/2021 20:15

I hope there is another referendum, and that she wins. It's high time the rest of us stopped subsidising Scotland.
