So my hesitation was warranted @Resilience sneaky very sneakily updated.

WouldBeGood · 14/05/2021 17:58

She can fuck off

Good point, though. That gov website implies it's from now. So it may be that areas that are currently level 3 but going to level 2 on Monday aren't allowed to go to England over the weekend, as we'd leave a level 3 area. Though it would possibly be fine to travel around Scotland, as we're all one big level 3.

Though another bit of the same page, under "travel" says
Travel is permitted within a Level 3 area, which is currently Scotland as a whole. Currently you can only leave or remain away from Scotland for holidays or other non-essential purposes if you are going to England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

So it may still be OK. Who knows?!

riverrunning · 14/05/2021 18:00

Hopefully a series of tweets from the SNP or NS will clarify the situation, isn't that the usual way now?

WouldBeGood · 14/05/2021 18:01

Just go to England! Bit more sense prevailing there.

Anyone noticing my not especially unsubtle railing at the general shitness and inconsistency of the SG website, where we're all directed to for the One True interpretation of what we're allowed to do? I'm afraid this is an ongoing rail in my head...

ScotlandUnited · 14/05/2021 18:03

Is it Glasgow City or Greater Glasgow (health board)?

ResilienceWanker · 14/05/2021 18:04

Ha! Oh yes. Forgotten about that. Or maybe Parent Club. At 3am on a Sunday morning.
riverrunning · 14/05/2021 18:04

The SG website has not being updated clearly or in a timely way several times!

I go to Twitter, ask a mumsnet-er or bbc to double check!

titsintiers · 14/05/2021 18:09

@ScotlandUnited

Is it Glasgow City or Greater Glasgow (health board)?
I've just tried the postcode checker, still says we're level 2 come Monday (east ren) no idea how up to date this is though.
tiredoftiers · 14/05/2021 18:40

She’s said moray specifically, and that falls under NHS Grampian. It would be beyond belief if she went council area for one group and health board for another. It must be Glasgow city rather than greater Glasgow and Clyde health board.

Coquohvan · 14/05/2021 18:48

She said Glasgow City & Moray. Didn’t hear any mention about HB.
Ive tried looking for cases by variants anyone seen that info?
Yes @Resilience noticed your railing I’m joining you. It’s a shambles that site.

WouldBeGood · 14/05/2021 18:50

Psychological warfare now.

Not a shred of evidence for measures

OP posts:
latissimusdorsi · 14/05/2021 18:58

The clip of NS speaking in parliament on bbc website ( sorry don't know how to link) specifically says Moray and Glasgow city. No mention of health boards

frasersmummy · 14/05/2021 19:03

This is sooo over the top now .. 65 people in hospital in the the whole of scotland and the pubs in our biggest city have to shut by 8pm and cant serve alcohol inside .

And how long is it since Glaswegians were allowed to hug their family ..???

With these limits imposed as such low numbers as people get out and about (outwith Glasgow and Moray) the cases will rise .. and that will be all the SG need to move us all back into lockdown

Its so depressing.. we are never getting out of this

WouldBeGood · 14/05/2021 19:26

Absolutely @frasersmummy

We are never to be freed.

Absolutely terrible for Glasgow

ScotlandUnited · 14/05/2021 20:44

she said it would be for an extra week

do we believe her??

SoMuchForSummerLove · 14/05/2021 20:52

Is it a case of believing or not? Or just that nobody is psychic so everyone has to wait and see.

user1487194234 · 14/05/2021 20:53

No I don’t
And past experience does not fill me with confidence 😂

forfucksakenett · 14/05/2021 21:05

@SoMuchForSummerLove

Is it a case of believing or not? Or just that nobody is psychic so everyone has to wait and see.
Exactly. It will depend on the numbers surely? And the prevalence of the variant.
captainsandy2 · 14/05/2021 21:13

The link between cases and hospitalisation and deaths has been broken . Thank you vaccinations . If you choose not to have a vaccine, then you accept the risk . All vulnerable groups have been offered at least first vaccine. So we need to accept higher rates may happen ( Indian variant ) but if NHS is not overwhelmed , then that's ok . Currently 3 people in ITU with Covid. Year on year deaths less than 5 year average. We need to get back to normal. Glasgow and Moray too .

user1487194234 · 14/05/2021 21:17

Agree with PP
Numbers will go up as we relax the restrictions
We need to stop obsessing about the numbers
But SG seem to want the unachievable aim of zero Covid

captainsandy2 · 14/05/2021 21:19

Exactly. Zero Covid not achievable. Also not necessary.

Coquohvan · 14/05/2021 21:19

Was wondering who pays the further covid business relief payments if Scotland close them and UK stays open?
The Glasgow City businesses will need further payments to cover this closure. Is it from relief monies already given? Would UK ever say no as closure is overkill?
