Not caught up with the thread yet, but just wanted to say, oh no scottishskifun FlowersCake Hope you and your family are OK. Take it easy and hope you feel better soon.

Ooof. What awful NHS stories, especially re the babies/ toddlers. I forget how much I relied on the baby weighing for reassurance/ general check-in with Actual People. I'd have gone even more potty without knowing there were health visitors easily accessible. I do wonder how many issues with children just won't be picked up as parents (especially first time) just can't really compare with their peers, and aren't getting that professional support. And the glasses Sad but also, how cute!

More Flowers for those of you struggling. And a virtual babysit so you can go for a walk or have an uninterrupted bath.

Thanks family is fine me not so good! Had to call NHS 24 as things were getting worse quite quickly including a fever not coming down from 39 with paracetamol. Dr is putting me on steroids and pain relief to try and help my breathing as its flaring up my asthma quite badly. So far avoided the hospital but bag is packed incase!

I've always said covid is a bit of a roulette looks like I landed on black with it 🙄
These antibodies better be damn strong also even more peeved that asthmatics got bumped from the vaccination list!

ResilienceWanker · 26/03/2021 15:19

Oh crap. Really sorry to hear that Sad Hope the meds kick in soon. Don't you go booting up hospital admissions, now, that's the last thing we need Wink Fucking virus. Angry

Scottishskifun · 26/03/2021 15:24

@Scottishskifun sounds rubbish. Prop yourself up on loads of pillows in bed so you’re almost leaning forwards. Hope it eases with the drugs

Hope you are doing ok today scottishskifun!

I’ve been railing about the dentist. I’ve not seen one for 18 months neither has DD. She was referred to orthodontist and was seen in October but referred back to dentist!

Dh and DDs Birthday today! Shit for them again.

WouldBeGood · 27/03/2021 08:39

That’s rubbish @DeepfriedPizza. I actually managed to find a dentist for ds and me as I got worried after DP had to get a tooth out cos of lack of checkups, cos Covid.

Happy shite birthdays to your DH and DD !

DeepfriedPizza · 27/03/2021 10:03

Our dentist is doing vaccines so is not seeing anyone at all.

WouldBeGood · 27/03/2021 10:08

that’s just rubbish @DeepfriedPizza.

I mean that they’re not seeing people, not that you’re talking rubbish 😂

DeepfriedPizza · 27/03/2021 10:52

I knew what you meant 😂 it is rubbish. A friend has seen her nhs dentist throughout and I’ve got teeth envy

Groovee · 27/03/2021 11:37

Happy Birthday to them @DeepfriedPizza

latissimusdorsi · 27/03/2021 11:39

DENTIST? what is this person that you speak of from a bygone era?

Mistressofmany · 27/03/2021 12:37

I'm dreading taking the dc to the dentist again, one in particular I know won't have done a good job without regular check ups.
Haven't heard anything from dentist (they normally email re check ups) but have had four contacts from my optician wanting me to make an appointment (I don't wear glasses; it's just a check up).

It's hardly a vital thing to buy (but would make me have a happier weekend and stop staring at the tv/mumsnet) - does anyone know of places where you can still get plants? I know B&Q have click and collect for big things but do they (or anywhere) have plants outside to buy? I looked in local supermarket but nothing in the bedding plant type of thing. If I'm outside will also stop me eating the eggs I've bought the dc Blush

WouldBeGood · 27/03/2021 12:45

I found a dentist as I said, but have had no optician appointments for eighteen months. I’m supposed to get six monthly checks as I wear contacts all the time. Normally they won’t issue them without the checks: now they just post them out.

Can’t help on plants! I’m a plant killer.

DP is coming over to measure for a deck. He volunteered to build me one, so will be one more piece of my home improvements.

I've just got my vaccination letter, hopefully Lothian is starting to catch up as I'm at the end of group 9.

rookiemere · 27/03/2021 13:02

Me too @Mistressofmany I feel giddily excited about the prospect of getting it, of course with no written record it doesn't change very much at all, except I suppose the chances of catching a virus that I'm pretty sure I had before anyway.

Lockdownbear · 27/03/2021 13:15

Group 9 is that 50 somethings?
