Just in case railing remains required.

Just checked what nhs Fife was saying:
As NHS Fife moves into the final phases of vaccinating priority cohorts 1-9 over the Easter weekend, we will be consolidating the number and opening hours of our 13 community clinics. This temporary operational change is in part due to a reduced demand for appointments over the Easter Weekend, completion of cohorts 1-9 and the widely reported reduction in national vaccine supply next week.

This temporary pause in community clinic activity will also provide us with the opportunity to reconfigure our clinics in advance of starting to schedule the larger priority cohort 10, expected to start in mid-April,

On this basis the majority of our 13 community clinics will be temporarily suspended between 2nd -12th April

Great all these areas are ahead!
Meanwhile in Lothian.....

WouldBeGood · 01/04/2021 17:26

I remember in the first lockdown, people on MN were declaring that B&Q was a veritable feat teal fir chin den and they should NEVER be in there 😂

Lothian way behind.
🤷

DP was speaking to a teacher friend last night. He was totally fed up with all the ridiculous rules and wants all kids back full time as normal. He said 60 people from the school had tested positive: not a symptom between them. Ludicrous

I need a rail.
So my friends in supposedly super cautious locked up Biden's US live in one of the fully on board Democrat States (think California rather than Florida). They are currently on a grand tour doing in person Uni open days at the other end of the US from where they live. Their older child has had in person lectures all year and they are dropping in as they pass through.

Meanwhile I haven't seen my eldest at Uni since October while she has no in person teaching and is practically confined to her room in halls all day every day and I can't travel more than a 10 mile radius.

Our perspective is so skewed by what MSM are choosing to report.

WouldBeGood · 01/04/2021 20:44

@SempreSuiGeneris a different world, isn’t it?

I’d just see my daughter if I were you.

I see mine as she’s young and vulnerable and it’s not right not to.

OP posts:
SempreSuiGeneris · 01/04/2021 21:05

I would except she's actually getting on fine without me and the 2 still at home need me more. I just resent the implication that I have to seek State permission to see my own child and that she is obligated to restrict her life so much for other people's benefit with nothing but threats and finger pointing in place of compassion and gratitude.

Feel free to scroll past but thanks for prodding me to say what I really think. Feels much better. Gin

WouldBeGood · 01/04/2021 21:49

That’s why guilt free railing is good @SempreSuiGeneris 😊

Lockdownbear · 02/04/2021 09:00

@SempreSuiGeneris its rotten. Can you or she have a MH crisis and NEED to see your DD?

The Rule are just bonkers, you've done well to stick to it this long.

GoldenOmber · 02/04/2021 09:31

Has anyone been able to figure out wtf we can do under ‘stay local’ that we couldn’t do last week?

The only thing I can think of is that I’m now allowed to travel to the other side of my LA area to go for a walk or do some essential shopping. But I’d rely on public transport to get there and that’s still “essential travel only”, which I don’t think includes going to stand in a slightly different Tesco just for the thrill of it.

WaxOnFeckOff · 02/04/2021 09:34

The only difference is that you can leave home for non essential purposes, so go outside just because you fancy it rather than just for work, shopping or exercise or caring responsibilities. So, yes, essentially no difference really. Pop round and see a friend outside for a cup of tea? That's probably the extent of it.

Scottishskifun · 02/04/2021 09:36

We can......... Loiter! Wooohooooo

Well I'm still in bed so no loitering here but go enjoy and loiter! 😂

WouldBeGood · 02/04/2021 09:44

I’m off to Glasgow to pick up click and collect groceries - woohoo! But also DIY pizza kits from an Italian restaurant

latissimusdorsi · 02/04/2021 09:44

Yes you can now leave your house for any reason you want. So if you're hearts desire is to sit outside for a coffee locally or just loiter then you're good to go! Otherwise no change

shouldistop · 02/04/2021 09:45

I'm off to loiter with my friend this morning for a costa

WouldBeGood · 02/04/2021 09:49

Oh nice, @shouldistop 😊

@Scottishskifun hope you’re doing ok

ResilienceWanker · 02/04/2021 09:55

Yeah. I suppose we can sit on a bench without having to dress it up as catching our breath from exercise. Or wander aimlessly without remembering that it is actually exercise. The possibilities are endless. Meeting someone else outside for a cup of tea has been allowed for a bit, though (up to 4 adults/ 2 households). I think it's just solo non essential leaving of the house that has been forbidden til now.

If this is correct then we've been breaking the law for months, and nothing changes or improves today. I'm glad for those of you whom it does help.

No change here. Always came under the mental health excuse in my book.

Lockdownbear · 02/04/2021 10:58

What are the rules for meeting someone outwith your council but within 5 miles of the boundary?

My heads burst, I know I could legally meet my mum in some parks for a walk. Can we legally have a coffee in the garden?

shouldistop · 02/04/2021 11:00

Oh nice, @shouldistop** 😊

We used to loiter with an entirely different kind of drink in our younger years Grin

Yeah. Me too. Just call me Dominic Cummings.
Mistressofmany · 02/04/2021 11:22

Thinking of climbing Arthur's seat today, but I would never make it there and back without a toilet stop. I was thinking this was not affected by the rules but it is - a trip into a cafe would have come in very handy. I'd better go somewhere more local! (Who needs the 5 mile rule - I've got a 5 mile bladder)

jerometheturnipking · 02/04/2021 11:28

@Lockdownbear I think we've been allowed to have the garden socialising with the 4 adults/2 households since Mothers' Day weekend.
